I love this original version and I also love Pattinson's cover of it. I'm not a super fan of Pattinson, but I have to say I like the vocal progression in Rob's version more. It creates more tension and is a little more soulful. This original is beautiful too, though, and more mellow. Depends on individual preference, I guess......

I saw marcus perform several times here in London this year and this was the only time I saw him play "I was Broken". It was actually lucky to film it, because I had battery only for one song and decided to record the "next one" and he played this one. :)

I love both versions equally, for different reasons. I still feel that Rob has a very melancholy style and the lyrics should be tweaked (for when he sings it) to: "I've been broken, for a long time. It's not over yet."
