Nursing school is EXTREMELY stressful. The abuse and misery that one experiences in nursing school is a clear indication of what they have to look forward to in nursing..and with health care heading in the direction it is..things are going to get worse. There aren't any nursing jobs as it is. I wouldn't encourage my worst enemy to get into this field..and I'm a nurse! I'm going back to school for a respectable major while I can. What a mistake nursing was.
no it's not glam at all. clen up shit vomit piss get yelled at hit kicked slapped by crazy patients OR the family members. do that a few years and ya, that'll make you want to get high. ( note-i am no longer a nurse)
Don't burn out those brain cells yet girls because you're gonna need them. Trust me. When you start really working in the real nursing world, all hell's gonna break lose and you're gonna have to think quick. People glamorise nursing in brochures & TV, but in real life it aint like that.

I am so sick of all these brainwashed idiots arguing with me and sending me nasty messages for simply stating how nursing is....it's like they get furious for hearing the truth..they don't want to hear it..they want to hear that nursing is AWESOME and that we, nurses, are treated like high-paid saints..and that's so untrue. I wish I would have gone for Occupational Therapy.
trust this: pray your nursing instructors/admins **never** see this [r u in RN school? LVN?] anyway, yes it can be very stressful, i know. BUT this is the kind of thing that can come back to bite you. re: school, future jobs & promotions...so what's up?
