If you look back to the 60's and 70's most models offered by these American companies were two door sports cars. Today things are different and they must focus on cars with cargo space and easy access that 4 door cars offer. Plus they brought back the challenger and kept it as a coupe. The way they designed the new charger is great i dont see anything wrong with it being 4 door. A family car with balls is an A+ in my book.
@crazynitro10 The Impala SS was created as a 4 door in the mid-1990's in order to get around the Sports Car insurance rates and be flat-rated as a family car. I can only guess that this was a part of the reasoning for the Charger is a 4 door as well. A person gets a sports car without forking out the sports car insurance rate coverage.
At 1:20 you can see the engine coolant moving around. This is absolutely the best muscle car i have ever seen. I want this car for my high school present.

What does that kid know about a lengendary 392 hemi?? The 392 was from the late 50s and early 60s. Then they cam out with the 426 Hemi which is actually the real legend.
Am I the only one who would want this car with the Hemi but TOTALLY STRIPPED down? I'd want A/C it's hot here in TX & the basic functions, I'm talking about the extra unessesary goodies. Navigation, power seats, power windows, heated seats, I'd put my own stereo in any way if I wanted to. I'm just saying all these extras seem kinda cream puff. Damn this car would be the ultimate modern basic muscle car like they were originaly designed in the 60's. I'm just sayin'.
the only change I would make would be adding 3/8" pinstripes to the outer sides of the main stripes. A much classier look. Ford has the solids only on the Mustang and to me it looks like it was applied in the driveway over a weekend. But hey, if you're happy with the way it is, that's all that really matters.

i agree never doubt the hemi. they claim 470hp out of the box, which is bull. on the chassis dyno, we have already laid down 451hp at the wheels, stock all the way down to the paper air filter, and that was with less than 500miles on the motor, not even close to broke in. I have nothin against fords, i have had some in the past, great vehicle, but mustang i cant see as a legend, makes me think girl car. shelbys, svt, saleen, any cobra, are all badass.

@partoroto Yup the 2011 cars were what I was talking about, I wouldn't say that everyone knows it's the better car, everyone has opinions! Though Ford are known for their reliability and the 08-10 Challengers were sort of underpowered from the factory. Either way the 2011 models for both manufacturers look great!

Seriously !! BMW is cranking out 500 bhp from a 4.0L which is 244 cubic inch and 650 hp from a 4.4L bi turbo engines. These idiots are still stuck in 60s where bigger means faster. No wonder these guys went bankrupt.. 392 cu that's only makes 470hp as compare to 244 cu making 500. Fuel is getting expensive so they need to make smaller and faster engines not bigger and slower engines. I rather buy a M5 which will give me better HP and better MPG.
@megadeth1923 Unless your Mustang is modded, you'd have your hands full with this one. Prepped one a couple weeks ago at work, they are considerably faster than the previous SRT8. Granted the Mustang is roughly $10-12k cheaper.
For such a heavy car 470 hp isn't all that special I'd like to see it's 0 to 60 times but the torque rating is good oh and what the hell is up with the sat nav in the center console? what are they trying to do, make it more like a BMW M3 or something? that's not what muscle cars are about at all it looks a bit out of place here.

The Challenger is basically a four door made to be a two door. Unlike the Mustang and Camaro that are made to be only two doors. The Challenger is by far more comfortable then the competitors. It would be nice if they could do something to make it lighter though. I think the Challenger are mustang are pretty damn cool cars. The Camaro sucks as though. Cheap as shit, hard to get in and out of... just an over weight sports car. Doesn't even look like a muscle car.

For sure. It is far more practical then the competitors. Also, when people speak of handling, it's like they compare a Challenger to a ferrari or a little sports car. The Challenger has better handling and a better ride then so many cars on the road. The damn thing handles well enough for any city driving. @Supernaut99 The 392 does the quarter mile in 12.4 seconds with an auto tranny. The 2011 Mustang GT does it in 12.8 with the manual tranny. On the "suggestions" section on the right on your page there should be a video called "392drags". The 392 does 12.4 stock.
Mustang is un comfortable, and dime a dozen. Camaro has the ugliest and worst human ergonomics awards possible,...did i mention the dash guages are terrible? ok the Srt8,.... this is muscle car fantasy come true , a true to the classic muscle car , go test drive one , and be prepared to sign on the dotted,....because I think if you have the money or credit you'd be buying it!! @turbonegro1120 The manual trans is the same that's in the GT500 which is a very good trans. I don't know about the auto. I would never get the auto in this car anyway.
@TroutButter yeah the manual is a very good one but the automatic, just by looking at the gear ratios it doesn't look good at all. the manual has an overdrive gear of .50 and the auto .83. the auto probably gets horrible highway gas mileage as a result.

Seriously !! BMW is cranking out 500 bhp from a 4.0L which is 244 cubic inch and 650 hp from a 4.4L bi turbo engines. These idiots are still stuck in 60s where bigger means faster. No wonder these guys went bankrupt.. 392 cu that's only makes 470hp as compare to 244 cu making 500. Fuel is getting expensive so they need to make smaller and faster engines not bigger and slower engines. I rather buy a M5 which will give me better HP and better MPG.

@megadeth1923 Unless your Mustang is modded, you'd have your hands full with this one. Prepped one a couple weeks ago at work, they are considerably faster than the previous SRT8. Granted the Mustang is roughly $10-12k cheaper.

For such a heavy car 470 hp isn't all that special I'd like to see it's 0 to 60 times but the torque rating is good oh and what the hell is up with the sat nav in the center console? what are they trying to do, make it more like a BMW M3 or something? that's not what muscle cars are about at all it looks a bit out of place here.

i would have bored it for more tourque too but this car is a fat pig whats in this thing that makes it 4200+lbs its an old E-Class chassis for the charger just a bit shorter i would have made it lighter with better suspension more hardcore for the track this car at 3600lbs would own all.hey lets drop a viper motor in there thats always cool.mind you the 5.0 is here and the z28 is coming poor old mopar will play 3rd string again.

The Challenger is basically a four door made to be a two door. Unlike the Mustang and Camaro that are made to be only two doors. The Challenger is by far more comfortable then the competitors. It would be nice if they could do something to make it lighter though. I think the Challenger are mustang are pretty damn cool cars. The Camaro sucks as though. Cheap as shit, hard to get in and out of... just an over weight sports car. Doesn't even look like a muscle car.

@dobadriver Also plus, from being in all three and listening to what owners say, the challenger you could actually live with. You can actually see out of the damn thing, you actually have room in the back to sit, and it actually has a trunk aswell lool. And it actually rides great imo.

For sure. It is far more practical then the competitors. Also, when people speak of handling, it's like they compare a Challenger to a ferrari or a little sports car. The Challenger has better handling and a better ride then so many cars on the road. The damn thing handles well enough for any city driving. I mean, people speak as though it's like driving a 22ft car from 1970.

@Supernaut99 The 392 does the quarter mile in 12.4 seconds with an auto tranny. The 2011 Mustang GT does it in 12.8 with the manual tranny. On the "suggestions" section on the right on your page there should be a video called "392drags". The 392 does 12.4 stock.

Camaro has the ugliest and worst human ergonomics awards possible,...did i mention the dash guages are terrible? ok the Srt8,.... this is muscle car fantasy come true , a true to the classic muscle car , go test drive one , and be prepared to sign on the dotted,....because I think if you have the money or credit you'd be buying it!! @TroutButter yeah the manual is a very good one but the automatic, just by looking at the gear ratios it doesn't look good at all. the manual has an overdrive gear of .50 and the auto .83. the auto probably gets horrible highway gas mileage as a result.

What do you mean heavy ass challenger? Cause the Mustang and Camaro are so light right? The base Challenger is only 300 pounds heavier then a base Stang and is lighter then the Camaro. The 392 Challenger weighs about 500 pounds more then the Stang and 300 more then the Camaro. Yes it weighs more but it doesn't make a difference. I mean, the Mustang weighs like 3600 pounds lmao, thats not a light car.

Also, let's start talking shelby lmao. The GT500 sucks ass. It weighs as much as the 392 but with terrible weight distribution. It's a noisy, clunky car to drive compared to the Challenger. All you gotta do is get s supercharger for the Challenger and boom! 650/700hp and you'll be eating Mustangs all day.
