How hard can it be to scan the plane with x rays or higher energy ones and pinpoint the locations of the heads of the terrorists and then shoot them after the calculations for the deflection caused by the planes outer skin. I guess at the distance required the rays would probably have to be too powerful but i am certain that could be bypassed somehow after a research and development stage costing millions, but the hijackings dont happen frequently enough to make such a project profitable...

It is astonishing that French still allow Algerians to come to their country. Just like Indians continue making the blunder of letting Pakistanis in. This is why democracy in its purest form is a weak form. It has to have some blend of authoritarian and nationalist elements in it to make it secure from external threats. Terror threats in US, Canada, Europe, Russia, India, Israel, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia etc have something very common. Any smart man would tell the commonality.

You can't forbid to all Algerians (or others) to come in your country because of a few terrorists, of course you have to develop security, but to be confident too, because without some relationships with them, it's impossible to make think become better. too much security has a counter-productive effect on security in a long term. i'm not naïve, but it's necessary to accept some risk and believe that relationships with them can change - or there is no other solution than war...

@wwestrugler Egypt is by far one of the poorest and underperforming arab countries, while corruption is so high it represents 1/3 of the economy!!, even on the international level it's percieved as weak and totally in the service of washington and tel aviv, even it that means using force against civilians withing the country itself!! so please, try to deal with your own issues first, Algerians enjoy much higher living standards and greater freedom
