No. He wanted to get revenge on Darlene for dumping/cheating on him, so he used some dirt he had on her from the time they were dating to create problems between she and her parents and jeopardize her schooling. It was all about getting even.
Roseanne hit the nail on the head. If he was concerned about her drug use, he'd have told them long ago. But like the gutless pansy he is, he kept his mouth shut and snitched later to meet his ends.
That's the funny part about the whole thing. If he'd have manned up and told her from the beginning he didn't like "sharing" her, she might have had a little respect/love for him left. But he was meek and timid until she finally fell for the other guy and dumped him because you can't love somebody you don't respect. It was his fault.
You've really got to get yourself out of this poor niche you've got yourself in man. It really doeen't look good on you, but then, maybe you wouldn't actually get cast in anything anymore. The sad cycles.
Good Fucking gawd Johnny. Arent you embarassed with yourself? Sensetive men (people) are wonderful, I really appreciate it because there is a lot of strength in truly being in touch with vulnerability and expressing your emotions. But you are on a whole other level..it's just pure weakness, (and prob other things) and none of your roles seem to have changed you. I don't know why I care, but you really need such a strong slap.

Oh the hyprocisy: Darlene witnesses her parents over indulge in deadly drugs on a daily basis (taxed drugs BTW) and is expected to go of and Not experiment based on the lies she's witnessed groing up? How sick is it that we have low IQ cops come to schools to lecture our kids on the dangers of pot when big pharma kills hundreds of thousands and year and alchohol and cigs the same and yet in it's entirety pot has killed... NO ONE! Time frame=EVER! Kick government out of your MIND!
@understudy52 I agree with you. Also in the later years she never speaks well of Dan's fathering. I think Dan's an excellent father but she feels he never does anything right. A couple of episodes Dan shows that he's still in control of the situations by "letting" her have her way and "think" she's in control, but yeah she's pretty controlling. Darlene's like that too especially with David.
