They should have cut away and shown the house from the outside and had a huge BOOM that shatters the windows while the guy is running to his car. Of course he never looks back.
Seriously, everywhere I see this commercial online there are people complaining about the treatment of a fictional animal in a television commercial. Those people truly have their priorities out of whack and will whine about anything to get attention. Lighten up and save your energy for real life animal cruelty.

I asked ESPN how this fits the ESPN Corporate Citizenship policy to "Inspire kids, parents, employees and communities to make a lasting, positive change in the world". . . They explained that they have to appeal to their audience.
If people like you ran this world it would be dull and boring. Have a sense of humor and quit being so sensitive. The commercial isn't focused on harming animals at all. Though, if a ferocious creature attacked me I'd kill it to protect myself. I guess you'd just let it kill you since you're so worried about animal cruelty. But I digress. The message is that Monday Night Football is so exciting that people abandon their responsibilities to watch it. It's obviously an exaggeration.

You my friend is what I would call a FunSucker. & Anybody who got a lil bit of sense knows that ESPN is not condoning cruelty to animals.
