  • Hey, where is our surplus ?

  • Julia is a red haired up tight un Australian slag that need to go away.Someone should run her over and we can have a national day of celebration

  • STOP PUTTING RAT POISON IN THE AUSTRALIAN WATER SUPPLY.

Fluoride is the main ingredient in rat poison, Go read the warning on your tooth paste bottle "If accidentally swallowed get medical help or contact a Poison control center right away" That is from swallowing less fluoride than is in a glass of water.

THE FIRST PERSON TO USE FLUORIDE IN WATER WAS HITLER TO KEEP PRISONERS QUIET..

  • boo gillard, put the CO2 tax to the vote, and stop using misleading imagery to mislead the australian people, put it to a vote...

  • a top American scientist, recently speaking on climate change in Paris, said that the amount of pollution caused by our power stations is minuscule and will not make any difference what so ever to the atmosphere, that the most powerful of machines could not read the amount of what we send up into the atmosphere. So as we already know, this is just about raising more taxes. We will ship our coal to china, they will burn it and produce power for themselves,Australians are dummies.

  • @marthaBot well said

  • have a look at what the story of stuff project has to say about cap and trade here on youtube.

  • I am sorry but until this starts to make sense, I can only assume this is a deception. There are many ways that we can clean up the industries and making our country and the world a better place.

  • @miraspear1 Like paying big companies to pollute less. Yeah.... sounds..... like a good idea. Not.

  • @Vahtacen Yeah total boys club.....ok It's a figure of speech :D

  • @miraspear1 What is a figure of speech?

  • @Vahtacen CHINA AND INDIA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What about somebody say's the obvious? why not use the funds made available by such schemes to subsidise organic farming? organic/bio-dynamic farming which locks massive amounts of carbon into soils have the potential to not only reduce our net output of carbon but also have the very important benefits of building our depleted soils, feeding our nation quality produce and also reducing our dependence on expensive and non-renewable chemical fertilizers.

  • we are ready for a new democratic movement that does not involve julia gillard and the labor party, nor the liberals who believe in this tax. come on poli's form a new party combining both sides. time to save democracy.

  • early election will come.new party anyone???

  • ur a fucking liar gillard..... you should not even be sitting in parliament ever, charged with treason in 2007

people, search for: Brian Shaw or Australian acts of treason on youtube

  • one more thing... you act as if the labor govt is here to save us. We hand you our tax dollars in trust only for you to use in political gain. and we are "privileged" to get our money back while we will be taxed to the hilt. Empires fall when everything is taxed too much. History shows this. thanks Australia to both sides of politics. You have really secured our future. What a travesty.

  • Great Julia Gillard

  • they are not enlightened at all. FULLSTOP

  • Carbon taxes are imposed by idiots. This is punishing citizens for the lack of engineering being made in reducing carbon emissions. I feel sorry you Australians have to put up with this.

    Cheers from Canada

  • PS Top 100 countries pay...lets see about 5% tax. majority of people and smaller companies pay 35-45% tax around the world. Sounds really fair. so to reduce the population over the next 100 years you need this tax, based in what scientific method?. MMM this shuts down true competition globally. and innovation does not happen naturally. Yet a true democracy and true globalisation / capitalist society will generate new innovation much quicker than this proposed method and reduce population fairly.

  • NOT THE RIGHT THING TO DO. You will go down in history as the Australian Prime Minister who sold the soul of this country to the ideal that does not resonate with humanity /one world/ democracy /evolution of humans /nature and most if all the universe.

  • My son has no future because his mother will be working her arse off paying basic bills and rent. And not see much of him.FOR WHAT? CLIMATE CHANGE - nuclear bombs went off in the atmosphere. The masses are not to blame.

  • DO I NEED TO PAY A TAX ON SOMETHING THAT IS FLOWN HALF WAY ROUND THE WORLD? NO why? Because i am not an idiot. You put this carbon tax on and you sign australia to the dark ages. Give me a sign that you truely reduce tax . Flat tax around the world and I will accept a one world economy. YOU DONT. THIS IS against democracy,my personal rights / the golden mean and most of all DEMOCRACY. This is against DNA. I feel it. It makes me sick to my core. This does not resonate with the universe.

  • Absolute nonsence!!! Obviously Julia Gillard thinks that we would generate less CO2 if we shipped Australian Coal and Australian Iron Ore to Asia to be refined instead of just refining the ore in Australia ....... and that less CO2 is released by exporting all raw cotton and wool to asia to have it made into material!!!! This is a real pathetic political joke that will destroy Australian manufacturing and mineral sectors!!!!

  • This is a dictatorship, You are not representing the people but the corporations.

You talk to us like we are stupid, How taxing us poor people reduce carbon.

2010 was the hottest year on record. Laugh that must mean 2009 was the second hottest year on record.

  • @clairechellis

The carbon tax taxes large Australian companies that pollute the Earth. Part of the money made from this tax will be spent out helping households, for example the government will subsidise energy bills if the Australian standard of living decreases. The government are choosing an economically viable way to prevent climate change. If they did not have this tax then the funding for renewables would only come from ordinary taxes already in place. The polluters should pay the price.

  • @alexthewombat1 yeh for how long? welcome to the dark ages. You can thank the fabian ideals that are skewed and do not reflect the fundementals of the golden mean.

  • @wellwellwellall

The polluters should pay the price until they stop poluting. If large companies invest in sustainable, non-polluting electricity generation and manufacturing then they won't have to pay a tax. Simple. If buisinesses don't want to pay the tax all they have to do is stop poluting. This tax is about creating a sustainable future for Australia. It penalises those who don't care about the future of our beautiful planet.

  • @alexthewombat1 You cannot see the bigger picture. They worship the golden mean in the most horrific way. They believe in the haves and the have nots. This is absolutely ludacrus. She is a pawn to the elites. A fact that she does not even realize that she is even being used. I am determined she will never get there. That is the change of evolution. The science is false. She is false just as her movement is. it has been proven. she is a dud. If you believe it you are a dud too.

  • @alexthewombat1 If you want i WILL give you credible data. even that total dick flannery cant prove his point. a total dumb fuck because he workd for "the machine" not a true scientist

  • apologies to my last comment. Im a dud and a dumb bitch for saying it. i appreciate the dialogue. fact is 1913 democracy was lost around the world because the banking system was privatized by only 6 banks creating a monopoly. Free market gone and influenced the rest of industry around the world to be monolopied. wow no real free market? they hijacked technology for private gain. Now they have a fascist system around the world being slowly implemented.

  • Respond to this video...this iscludes psychological warfare, loss of freedoms, spying on the masses... proven in the media time again, fake news stories, Julia has been accused of treason, loss of truth, loss of technology, it goes on and on. wow tomtom selling info of customers to govts? sounds familiar. your car has a blackbox that collects data and is transfered. your phone is tracked. your dna is stored. Do I trust this fake govt? They are fake through and through.

  • @alexthewombat1 she is playing the game of psychological resurrection. she is a joke. we the people can smell a rat from a mile away.

  • @wellwellwellall

The Australian government are implementing policies to try and preserve our environment. This is something I am proud of. The future of the Earth isn't a game, it's important that all people unite and try to create a more sustainable future for both the Earth and the human race. This is one of many small steps that will taken in order to ensure a sustainable future for human kind.

  • @alexthewombat1 Yes yes. Lets just do anything provided it's seen to be green and for the planet.. You ill informed fool.. Small steps to bankrupting this nation more like it. Maybe you should remain in your hole Wombat.

  • @Adirtybird

The impact of global warming and the associated costs will decrease the Australian standard of living more than the carbon tax.

  • @alexthewombat1 Is that the same global warming that according to our esteemed climate leader Tim Flannery, will result in Queensland having empty dams by 2009 ?? Or is it the global warming that Al Gore said in 2001 will rise ocean levels by 1 meter by 2008??? Or is it the global warming Lie that is being pushed by those with vested interests that we all give them money and they will make it go away??? Wake up dude.. Try reading something other than daily papers or watching ACA or TT for facts.

  • @alexthewombat1 and by which scientific computer generated system measures this properly? which theory is this based on? Remember a theory is only a theory. Is this an independent org that does this or is it funded by specific corporates who have different agenda? put it out on the table. We are supposedly a democratic nation. Let it out. Be transparent. Give the peoples science. Debate Richard Linzen? Speak to Tim Flannery? well tim has lost some of his credibility lately...

  • @alexthewombat1 Global warming is a con. Pure Fact

  • @alexthewombat1 I am not proud they are part of an ideal that lies, manipulates, uses technology (harrp, weather modification-ie using sacred geometry frequencies to screw up this earth) and all living things on this earth. until you realise what is really going on, you yourself will live in your own dark ages. This carbon tax is a fake. Ask flannery. he knows. the govt knows. juliar knows. this is not the right transient value to build a world democracy because it is purely based on communism

  • @wellwellwellall

Hey mate, I'm going to discontinue this conversation because your comments aren't really related to the carbon tax at all. The only thing about the tax you even said was that it is a fake, which doesn't make sense. Global warming is real and is likely to result in a decrease in the human standard of living, resulting in more frequent and severe natural disasters, including heatwaves and cyclones. This tax is just 1 small step in combating climate change. Take it easy champ.

  • @alexthewombat1 Go for it. I am not the one who is compartmentalised. The connections are right there in front of you and you cannot even see it. Amazing.

  • What makes Julia Gillards nose grow bigger? A: Her lies, B: Bob Brown is wedged so far up her arse it is struggling to cope with all the oxygen he absorbs, or C: A and B, thats' right Australia C, A and B!

  • just watched the american speech, almost threw up,,,,,botox gillard being fake and thinking people are stupid enough not to see through it,,,,heres making a fool of yourself

  • you are toast you ugly ,ugly ,red thing..

  • Julia,

You should have let Kevin Rudd win or lose the last election based on policy and merit. This is incredibly frustrating because while I support a tax on carbon I cannot argue with people who don't trust you anymore because frankly neither do I. If you and Abbot really want whats best for this country you would both step aside so we can have some real choice. The ONLY reason I didn't vote Liberal at the last election for the first time is because Abbot is just, well, wrong.

  • 30% primary vote for labor.

    Yet another policy winner.

How far out of touch with main stream australia can one party be?

They need to amalgamate with the greens and get it over with. The greens will eat them alive from the inside. Labor s just the host organism for the parasite. 149 seats of parliament being lead around by 1....rofl

  • Look up George Carlin "saving the planet" on you tube all the Answers are there folks.

  • danger will robertson

  • just about to have something to eat until i clicked on this, looking at her and listening to her just put me off my food

  • Seriously if this stupid woman shut down all the factory farms in this country she would not need to bring in a carbon tax. Agricutlural farming is the NUMBER ONE cause of climate change. Unfortunately, politicians like to eat meat so there is no way they would shut down factory farms. This woman has never had a clue about anything. SHUT DOWN FACTORY FARMS - NOT ONLY ARE THEY CRUEL BUT THEY RELEASE RECORD LEVEL POLLUTANTS. Julia should lead the world by shutting down factory farms!!!

  • i've heard far better selling points from crazy clarks

  • here's one for u ju'liar gillard ~ If you once forfeit the confidence of your fellow citizens, you can never regain their respect and esteem. It is true that you may fool all of the people some of the time; you can even fool some of the people all of the time; but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. A.Lincon." your day will come"

  • Join Protest against carbon tax

    CANBERRA - the big one!

    Date: 23 March

    Time: 10:30am

    Location: Parliament House

  • It's been said good men sit idle while kaos reigns, the people rebel and all harmony is lost, this has happened around the world for many years but men like Winston Churchill had the fortitude to see beyong the ignorance of many and create peace and harmony, all is lost due to an attitude found only in education, where a particular subject in learned and utilised in Goverenment policy regardless whether what is learned is correct or not.Only fate will contest the reality. God bless us

  • Yes Bob brown many jobs created in Germany just to manage the implementation of this disaster of a policy, arrogance will ignore the publics view but it will be the price you will pay at the ballot box come next election. The nations debt is climbing due to increased borrowings and will climb further but the media won't reveal this debt as to hide the truth, our debt will grow and the climate won't change one bit, pollution won't change one bit but our hip pockets will have massive holes.

  • The labor Government won't implement cleaner energy production but instead tax everyone for creating pollution through using your toaster, oven and fridge. What I'd like to know is will the Govt remove all Comm cars and Government cars and start riding push bikes, will the Gov reduce overseas travel and lerks and perks where extensive emissions are produced. One man Professor Guarnogh came up with the idea of taxing pollution and the country will suffer.

  • Ah yes ,let us tax you into poverty, then we will assist those who apply, only if you meet the greens terms, this is called socialism, how inept since our prime minister is a socialist.

A channel ten reporter back in the 2007 election asked Kevin Rudd if he would increase the GST in he was elected and his reponse was "not over my dead body" but what he had in mind was to increase the GST artificially by using a base tax that taxes everything then the GST is applied. Life will change, bet on it.

  • total shite

  • Ah ok now i got it..

Yes they are a think tank that many govts world wide consult with. Don't know to much about them as they are rather well hidden.

They offer leaders plans for mass control and guidance of their people. And many of their plans are manipulative and controlling of the masses, global warming, pandemic virus's, terrorism exaggeration, financial collapse, are the most often used plans for keeping us in line. Some say NWO, but thats overstating their power and influence.

  • @Adirtybird it does sound quite interesting, I am going to try and find that book - I like a good conspracy theory myself, but very rarely take them seriously.

  • @Xanthe280

So you DO take conspiracy theories very seriously! You live your life in belief that people who deny AGW are a part of a conspiracy ... And another test... Does the War on Terror have a ulterior motives? If you believe it was about anything other than liberating Iraq and Afghanistan then you are a conspiracy theorist.... ?

  • @vitalitutorials that's ridiculous, I did not say that people who deny climate change are part of a conspiracy. In fact quite the opposite, I welcome scientific debate. However, following research I have come to a view which supports the hypothesis that human activity is contributing towards climate change and as such support a tax on carbon.

war on terror??? oh can't be bothered...

  • @Xanthe280

Why don't you just admitt that you're a biased lefty who blindly toes the left agenda. You admit ignorance then claim an opinion. I can rest knowing that finally people with your pro climate tax mindframe are in the minority and everyone is finally hating Bob Brown. War on Terror? Of course you couldn't give a shit!

  • @vitalitutorials yes I usually do fall to the left politically but no not blindly. I also admit ignorance as no-one is an expert on everything (u should too), but I am not ignorant when it comes to climate science. I may be indoctrinated to an extent as I have studied atmospheric science at university level, I am currently trying to broaden my perspective.

However, I have not yet come across any new information to make me question anthropocentric change and hence support a tax - as is my right

  • @Xanthe280

Did you study atmospheric science 20 years ago or since the AGW lie? Can you not see that this issue has nothing to do with science and everything to do with politics? They should teach you at uni the importance of history considering it was bankers, not scientists, who were the first to speak of global warming. Tell me, how come over 9000 scientists who hold doctorate degrees, disagree with you?

  • @vitalitutorials as I said in a previous conversation, you make a mute point as there are also thousands of scientists who support AGW. I have also stated previously that I am happy to review new information with an open mind and have been actively doing so. To date I have not come across anything to make me change my mind on the subject and if I do you can be assured that it won't be as a result of political fearmongering or self interested personal opinion.

  • @Xanthe280

Well look, if you're serious about learning more, please read about the role of the Rothschild family in world affairs. I myself am a history student, and history can tell you so much about something, especially when an issue has been politicised. Did you know that there was a period of history known as the Age of Rothschild. I know its an old quote but we can only learn from history if we bother to read it. If you can, check out books written by Bill Still

  • @vitalitutorials of course I will, I expect it will be quite interesting.

  • @Xanthe280

The Rothschild family have been the worlds most affluent and powerful banking families since the 18th century. They handled most government loans in England, France, Germany, Italy and Austria. They built up and destroyed economies, throughout Europe and the world.. Today David De Rothschild is a environmentalist who 'wants nothing to do with the family fortune' instead he promotes AGW to children. I do not believe this family are on a sudden, selfless mission to save the Earth

  • @vitalitutorials I much prefer this side of you vitalitutorials... thanks for the information you have piqued my interest enough for me to go forth and research:) Just one thing though, obviously I haven't formed an opinion yet, but I pose the question to you...

is it possible, even remotely possible that even though the rest of his family were selfish a******'s, that "David De" is actually out there trying to make a positive contribution???

  • @Xanthe280

Also check out the Goldsmith (Goldschmidt) family, they were prominent German-Jewish bankers as well.. They married with the Rothschild family about 200 years ago and in the 20th century worked their way into the British parliament. Today, Zac Goldsmith is a 'conservative' MP and environmentalist and very close friends with David Rothschild. I dunno about you but I haven't had the same family friends for 300 years, Zac's uncle is veteran environmentalist Edward Goldsmith.......

  • @Xanthe280

............... So there's at least THREE who have decided to selflessly make a positive contribution. When you look at how they have crashed stock markets in the past (I'm talkin early 1800s) and the official record states they 'were lucky and sold all their stock before the crash', then recently I saw Sir Evelyn (David's father) on TV and he just happened to sell all his stocks before the Global Financial Crisis...................

  • @Xanthe280

............David's father is the governor of political science and economics in Britain and economics advisor to Queen Liz II (although he dropped out of college). Sir Evelyn is the man pushing for carbon taxes and much worse.. cap & trade (where carbon is traded like shares).... The very thing that he Rothschild family has done throughout history is control stock exchanges, and provide govt loans which are secured by the taxes of the nation.........

  • @Xanthe280

....Sorry if i was a prick before but this issue of global warming has just gotten out of hand.... I've known about the Rothschilds long before I knew they were involved in global warming... I had no 'sure' opinion myself about GW until i researched what the Rothschilds were up to these days. Then i said 'wait a minute'... Bill Still made a 3 1/2 hr Documentary version of his book, it bores most ergo it's quite informative.......

  • @vitalitutorials No problem, it is a heated debate and we are both obviously passionate about it. Just went to the library looking for Bill Still, couldn't find him as I live in a regional area (small Libraries here) so will look online for the doco. I'm also trying to get my hands on Ian Plimer's new book Heaven and Earth (Scientist and AGW skeptic).....

  • @vitalitutorials

......Can I encourage you to read Tim Flannery's Weathermakers, I know you hate him because he's a AGW supporter and apparent lefty but he does a good job of explaining the science behind climate change for non-science people, his description is consistent with my previous studies. Other than that all I can offer you is university texts which are pretty boring and hard going.

  • @Xanthe280

If you DO research this then i say you're a reasonable person (because MOST biasedly follow their agenda) My last protest will be to apply a reductio ad absurdum, the famous example of which is "All cats have 4 legs - My dog has 4 legs - ergo my dog is a cat" For a politician the logic is "something must be done - this is something (tax) - ergo we must do it" We need to do the RIGHT thing not just SOMEthing. I just don't trust bankers and most politicians

  • @vitalitutorials I take your point and your logic is quite right. However, what if we looked at it from a risk based approach, i.e. all things being equal (likelihood of AGW being true/not true), if AGW is a farce and a tax on carbon was implemented then the worst credible outcome would be an economic recession for no good reason. On the other if AGW is real and we do nothing, worst credible outcome is the creation of an environment which is not condusive to the ongoing existince of our race...

  • @vitalitutorials one thing we do have in common is a lack of trust in bankers and politicians. But at some point we have to accept that in our life times we cannot possibly become experts in all fields, we simply don't have the time -too busy paying taxes:). Which leaves us in the unfortunate position of having to take advice from others....

  • @vitalitutorials This being the case we know that of the many studies that have been completed by economists wrt dealing with AGW that the most popular approach to date has been a carbon tax and cap and trade system.

Abbot offends me on so many levels, not least by the fact that he thinks he knows better than the experts.

  • @Xanthe280

And yes I understand the Latin Argumentum ad vericundium (faulty appeal to authority) of course I'm ignorant because one cannot be an expert on everything. But this same logical fallacy can be applied to you because this is a political and economic issue - and you're not an economist, you cannot give macroeconomic tax advice. Hence I don't support a tax

  • @vitalitutorials the difference is I didn't personally attack your credibility over it and consequently inform you that you have no right to an opinion. I respect your opinion to oppose the tax and reserve my right to support it. This is a political, social, economic AND environmental issue requiring expertise from all areas - this discussion would be much more productive if you would state and support your case with evidence rather than just ripping to shreads anyone that disagrees with you.

  • @Xanthe280

"ripping to shreads anyone that disagrees with you." Are you talking about Greenpeace, WWF, the Green party, the media and most environmentalists. You call ppl 'DENIERS' as though they deny the hollocaust (the implication is obvious) and there has been NO serious debate about the issue in parliament. If your agenda weren't so hypocritical I wouldn't be so horrible

  • @vitalitutorials I agree that there are those on both sides of the argument who dogmatically argue their opinion without regard for new information thats being presented to them. I also believe that self interest weighs heavily in peoples minds when forming opinions. This works both ways but you have to admit that when presented with a new tax the path of self interest is to resist? I was the same with Howards GST... and I'm not hypocritical! *foot stomp* lol:)

  • @Xanthe280

NO ITS AN ECONOMICS ISSUE. Explain how taxation or a stock exchange for carbon is an environmental issue? The scientists job is over once we talk about a tax, his expertise was to say whats happening and according to the pollies AGW is plausible. It has left the hands of the scientits (who still debate it anyway)

  • @vitalitutorials I HATE the term sustainability with a passion as I've had it rammed down my throat so much but I do believe that the economy, the environment and society are inextricably linked and cannot exist without eachother.... in human terms that is, of course the environment can live quite happily without us.

  • @vitalitutorials who are AGW???

  • @TheAnimalinda

    Anthropogenic Global Warming

  • @Adirtybird I don't think for a second that parties, societies, people who are aligned with the NWO agenda are at all worried about their power and influence over governments, it's US the sheeple who are their only concern as once we wake up we usually get pretty angry and want to regain our power.

  • When did i ever mention the Club of Rome????

  • @Adirtybird unless I am wrong the Club of Rome wrote your reference "The First Global Revolution [ISBN 0-671-71107-5]" who from what I can gather (I'd never heard of it or them before) are not actually proposing a conspiracy theory, I interpreted this from you associated comment.

  • @Xanthe280

Hahaha you know NOTHING about history yet have the audacity to claim anything. How could you not know of the club of Rome, next thing you'll tell me that the Rothschild family are poor. Ignorant people are the ones supporting AGW. But wait, you must be a conspiracy theorist yourself because to explain why 31,000 scientist state that AGW is not real, they would have to be a part of a massive, right-wing conspiracy...

  • @vitalitutorials what has my lack of historical events or groups got to do with my views on climate change? Would you ask a mechanic to fix your computer?

We are all ignorant to an extent, even you I'm afraid. I'm not claiming to be a phd on the subject but I have completed some study and am well informed regarding climate science. wrt your assertion that I believe in conspiracy theories see my response to your previous comment, yes you're repeating yourself.

  • The 'despicable liar' is an offence to Australia. Juliar, Bill Gates introduced an idea that was to the benefit of mankind. Your lies contribute nothing. You, 'despicable liar' ,should resign immediately for imposing upon Australians an unproven and unjustifiable load of "BS"!

  • You're quoting studies that have been proven to be Govt. or corps manipulated as proof of AGW. Lord Monkton has hammered every warming nut world wide and even offered 1 million dollars to Big Gay Al or S Jones if they could disprove him or to prove with science that AGW is real........ Guess what .... No takers... Shit scared and piss week little pricks who want to con you all.

Let me guess..... Did you vote Greens ?????

  • @Adirtybird Conspiracy theories again? I have studied atmospheric science at length and at this point am convinced that climate change is being accelerated by human activity. You youself admitted to the greenhouse effect with your comment on volcanos. My mind is open if you can provide an adequate argument to the contrary but thus far you have not.

Incidentally these days I am a swing vote and may have voted Liberal if Turnbull was running, unfortunatelly for all of us it was Abbot v Gillard.

  • @Xanthe280 Conspiracy theories again????? What the fuck are you on about... What conspiracy??/

Not once have i denied the green house effect, what i and over 10,000 phd scientist are stating is that man is not to blame for the shift. It happens naturally and will continue to do so forever whether we are here or not.

So take a look at some of my favourite videos on climate change for a view on carbon output and Lord Monktons explanation.

So you voted green... Thx for that..

  • @Adirtybird I refer back to your earlier comments on the Club of Rome and your point above reffering to government manipulation or would you like to retract those statements?

I will check out your videos when I get a chance - like I said, an open mind. There are also thousands of scientists who support accelerated change due to human activity so you make a mute point.

wrt my vote well that's my right, feel free to judge away but I respect your right to vote for Abbot if you so choose.

  • @Xanthe280 Yes freedom of choice is all good.

Yes there are many who claim AGW is real and they still have jobs and still receive funding. Those who on the other hand who question AGW have been fired and now have no funding. This is well documented and has been brushed under the rug by almost all media world wide..... I wonder why... When Govt. see an avenue for tax very few will back away if they can convince the public it's necessary . And govt spend big dollars with media outlets. ????

  • @Adirtybird I am sorry if this is the case, I do not support suppression of scientific research or debate - Galileo after all. But regardless I still beleive in AGW and support a carbon tax. I concur that Gillard has backflipped and justifiably this pisses people off, lucky for me that the chips have fallen my way this time - there have been plenty of times when they didn't.

I also do not believe that the government is introducing this tax purely as a cash grab and for no other reason.

  • @Xanthe280 What do you believe is the reason that our government has created this carbon tax for??? And what evidence do you have to validate your belief? seeeeeriously what is the purpose of a tax yo? it's to collect money. What are they going to do with that money?

You may know about atmospheric stuff but do you realise the global implications of this type of cap and trade system? You may understand the science of AGW (which I think is BS) but do you understand the political/economic impact?

  • @TheAnimalinda I believe a carbon tax will provide a monetary incentive to reduce emissions and provide an economic environment within which alternative energy suppliers can be viable. Would you believe that we lost an Australian wind generation company (The Roaring 40's) to China because they couldn't compete in Australia?

There are numerous countries currently taxing carbon, all of which are well above average global GDP per capita.

  • @TheAnimalinda wrt politics I couldn't care less for many Australian politicians at the moment, total lack of inspiration from either side. Almost all of them have shown that they are self interested and willing to stymie positive change purely because they want to make their opponents look bad. This goes for both sides, but especially Abbot. Such a shame, we had a pretty good run there for a while.

oh and AGW means Accelerated or Anthropocentric Global Warming (depending on who you talk to)

  • @TheAnimalinda asked, "What are they going to do with that money" (the revenue from the price on carbon)?

I think that they should use the revenue to compensate the victims of carbon pollution based climate change. The victims are those of so-called "natural" disasters such as the Queensland floods and the Victorian Bushfires. Climate change has costs both financial and human. Burying our heads in the sand will not make the problem go away. Let's fix the problem by letting the pollutors pay.

  • Some of the comments here are disturbing = 'dyke', 'bitch', slut', 'trollop'. This is the language of hate and misogyny, not political debate.

  • Bob Brown: Germany also started two world wars, must we do that same?

  • @Rafdaganga you poor thing, I bet you're red raw from whipping yourself about the treatment of the Australian Aboriginals when the Brittish landed. Much has happened in Germany since then, they walk all over us when it comes to the use of renewable energy, including solar which is a complete joke..... meaningless comment thrown out by someone who dosn't have a better argument.

  • Just remember these faces, these are the crooks that want you in mudhuts & shitting in the woods while they milk your wallet, & i wouldnt mind betting some of these faces will be getting an invite from the Bilderberg group very soon, you are getting sucked into the New World Orders plans for global governance, so to you stupid yogurt knitters who think this is great you are assisting the big money elitists in their global takeover by being useful puppets, for christs sake wake up!.

  • CO2 IS NOT CARBON YOU DUMB GORMLESS SOUR FACED OLD TROLLOP.

  • :S try 11:55

  • Brown you did not just drop the "moving forward" bomb 12:00

  • Fucking lying bitch, but not agreed by the Australian people whom you are supposed to serve. Wonder who has a carbon exchange company like Goldman Sachs that she is in league with who are going to make billions while you joe blogs in the street will be paying through the ears. What a ridiculous comparison, bill gates and this inept dangerous policy. The jobs are already heading overseas stupid. Qantas is already sourcing fuel from outside australia.

  • @qeull I read an article recently (I wish I could remember what is was in) that claimed the role of George Bush in the big scheme of the NWO agenda was to be stupid and incompetent so that he could be replaced by Barack who would appear eloquent and offer a new hope. When Obama fails to deliver on his promises the people will feel there is no hope and the powers that be will blame democracy then offer an alternative as part of a global alliance. Perhaps the same is meant to happen here...

  • Maybe if this USELESS Prime MInister got rid of factory farms in Australia we wouldn't have climate change issues. Animal agriculture makes a 40% greater contribution to global warming than all transportation in the world combined; it is the number one cause of climate change. Has anyone ever heard Julia Gillard mention animal welfare issues? She could care less. Hearless. Would love to see her spend time in a sow pen so she can'[t turn her fat bum around.

  • @EddieAlda Also our government has recently granted BP permission to survey our oceans for more off-shore oil rigs to be set up here. You can find this info on the BP website. Carbon Tax is providing a solution to a problem which does not exist

  • Julia is a cold hearted bitch. Ever heard her once mention animal welfare issues in this country. Would like to see this fat assed woman spend 5 minutes in a sow pen. This woman has done nothing, repeat nothing to improve animal welfare in Australia. Just looking at her makes me feel ill.

  • Good on you, we need to do this.

  • y'know the old saying money doesn't grow on trees? well this is it. And it's YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! WE CAN STOP THIS! copy paste into google stopgillardscarbontax

  • A price on Carbon is fantastic! Finally we get to catch up with the rest of the world!

  • @Tarhini Catch up on the rest of the world???????? Are you on drugs????

  • @Adirtybird other countrys have already adopted a price on carbon long ago, we now know the amount of carbon we release, will directly impact our globe. For once corporations have an incentive to practice in a way that is benificial to the environment, this is what the carbon tax is about. Im all for it and if you dont like it, then i suggest i suggest you get yourself some real education and stop living under a fucking rock buddy...

  • @Tarhini perhaps if you got an education you wouldnt call CO2 "carbon", fucking unbelievable!.

  • @no1froggy carbon and c02 are 2 different chemicals. The carbon cycle involves more gases than just c02, carbon also makes up gases such as methane and cloroflurocarbons, which play an important role in the carbon cycle. Its not just about c02......

  • @Tarhini Carbon is a solid matter, CO2 is a harmless gas which without it there would be no living thing on the planet, & you are correct in saying they are two different things, but the tax con is based on the CO2 as idiots in government think its a poisonous gas & a pollutant which is just plain wrong.

  • @no1froggy Maybe you should educate yourself on the carbon tax a little more. c02 is not the only harmful gas that influences global warming. Methane for example, is an extreamly harmful gas and has a more damaging potential then c02. The carbon tax will include such gases. When reporting, corporations will have to report gases, such as methane, as a 'c02 equivelant'. This is why we dont call it the 'c02 tax' because its not just carbon dioxide we are talking about here.....

  • @Tarhini Right stop just there, as soon as you say CO2 is a harmful gas i feel youve lost the plot, & please enlighten me, how does giving money to government stop so called global warming, climate change or whatever they are calling it this week?, yet all along the biggest element in our atmosphere is,,,,,,,,,,no i`ll let you answer that, oh & methane being a CO2 equivelant, how do you come to that deduction?,,,bloody crazy.

  • @no1froggy The way the carbon reporting system works means that other gases, such as methane, are reported as a c02 equivelant. I didnt create the reporting system however it does reflect that other gases, besides c02, are being considered.

'how does giving money to the government stop global warming?' - Well currently corporations produce all the emissions they want, without any incentive to reduce their emissions. This tax will force corporations to consider thier emissions, money talks....

  • @Tarhini Be careful bud, trolls don't tend to react too well to reason.

  • @wasdom01 you are totally right, dunno what i was thinking :/

  • @Tarhini Ha! :). You were probably just trying to be nice and help educate the ignorant, credit to you for that. You just need to make sure that you're not wasting your time or helping to promote the agenda of ugly monsters that live under bridges ;).

  • @Tarhini Yeah 2 bit nations that contribute less than 15% of the total so called carbon output.. And yes taxing big corps is 20 years to late but dont tax the man in the street.. It's plain stupid. And as for an education, it is quite clear who needs one from outside of the mainstream rubbish.. You... Have you any idea how much is released into the atmos from a small volcano??? More than mankind for a whole year...FACT.. Ice core sample's show 10k year trend to warm and cool.

  • @Adirtybird I'm sorry I know I'm picking on you but I just can't resist.... The NGER Act (2007?)came in originally as a precurser to carbon trading during the Rudd attempt, it governs reporting on emissions and energy use. The system is based on thresholds, from memory the threshold for reporting on emissions of C02 equivelent is around 125,000tonnes/year.

  • @Adirtybird This means, you would have to be running some serious equipment i.e. a compressor station, power station or such like to pay a direct tax on carbon. Of course this will be passed on to the consumer, who has every right to use his/her consumer dollar to avoid the tax - hence a price incentive to reduce emissions.

  • @Xanthe280 Dude you're deluded... completely

  • @Adirtybird possibly, but I don't think so:)

  • @Xanthe280 You're rambling on like a lost child.... Not making any sense at all..

  • @Adirtybird really?? or is it just because I disagree with you? I've seen worse comparisons than that on this thread.

  • Or are you in you're finely educated still brainwashed by govt led media to think we little beings are so influential to our planet.. You need to read this, have a lie down, then read again.

The First Global Revolution [ISBN 0-671-71107-5]

  • Quote from the report.

"In 1991 - Leading scientists, philosophers, political advisors, former politicians and many other influential bureaucrats and technocrats co-authored a report titled The First Global Revolution [ISBN 0-671-71107-5] in which they wrote, â??in searching for a new enemy to unite us [all of humanity], we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill.

  • cont. All these dangers are caused by human intervention and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy then is humanity itself.

This is one of the biggest lies Govt has ever told the human population and do good fools like you suck it up like babies to a tit. And very few of you ever bother to look where our planet is at the moment and it's effect on our planet. No you point the finger at you're self based on what you're told.. who does that???

  • @Adirtybird are you actually denying that there are starving people in the world?? You should have left that bit out, it was almost convincing up to that point.....notwithstanding if I can find it I will read your reference, just for a laugh.

  • @Adirtybird ok for starters, no-one is debating the fact climate change is a natural state of the earth which has been ongoing since it's origin, or that volcano's and other natural occurrances contribute carbon to the atmosphere - the debate is about human induced, or, the acceleration of this change. And yes, current observations such as ice melt in Greenland and other places do support the hypothesis.

  • @Adirtybird secondly, are you really arguing that the human induced climate change is a New World Order conspiracy? Come on. Regardless, nowhere in my internet surfing can I find anything to the extent that the Club of Rome do not beleive that human induced, accelerated climate change is real. Just that it needs to be addressed in the global arena - though obviously I haven't had time to read your book.

  • @Tarhini yup, unfortunately itll be the third world youll be catching up on.

  • @no1froggy that's right, because all third world countries have a carbon tax....well there's at least one isn't there?.. No? oh..

  • @no1froggy that's right, because all third world countries have a carbon tax....well there's at least one isn't there?.. No? oh..

  • @Xanthe280 Im making a comparison, if you want to see the results of "cap & trade" which is what its really known as then just take a good hard look at California since the introduction of it, so before lashing out sarcasm do some homework, then when this carbon tax comes in keep a very close eye on who is doing the carbon trading & who is getting rich, itll be the snakeoil salesmen believe me, but by then itll be too late & youll be stuffed, give it 12 months & youll regret ever agreeing to it.

  • @no1froggy didn't the government that bought in the Carbon tax in Canada get re-elected recently? Since reading earlier posts I have been trying to find out what actually happened with Canada, but can only find fearmongering on behalf of industry and politicians - no real facts, if you have anything else I am happy to "educate myself". Also, what about the other countries that have a carbon tax, I understand that the sky hasn't fallen down in Europe as a result of a carbon tax??

  • @Xanthe280 What you are reading about Canada is not as you conceive it, they are in dire straits, & which other countries have a carbon tax?, & what you say about Europe is laughable, Germany,Denmark, spain etc have abandoned green ploicies (eg:windfarms) as its not creating jobs & definately not creating power, The UK is going the same way as the only people making money are the politicians & their relatives, meanwhile companies are shipping abroad due to being wiped out in great numbers.

  • @no1froggy Strange, Jan 2011 Nat Geo describes Canada as having a GDP of $25,000-$40,000per person which is way over the world average of $9,514. Interesting to note that Canada and Europe, both with an ETS are in the second highest bracket with respect to GDP behind only the likes of the US, Bahrain and the United Emirates. I will have to check out your comments on Germany and Denmark - I would hate to be posting stuff that I've just made up in order to support my opinion.

  • @no1froggy p.s. smart people who adjust quickly will make money - there really is an industry here.

  • @Xanthe280 Solar plant in USA now bankrupt, turbine manufacturer in spain due to close, meanwhile Al Gores carbon credit company (CCX) now folded, but not before he milked it of millions & got his $9 mansion built on the coastline which he stated would be underwater soon, Dr Pachauri (IPCC) closes TATA steel in UK & took all the orders to India, sold the carbon credits issued to said company & sold them as no red tape in India, you see its the preachers who benefit being hypocritics as they go.
