At The Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) 2010 on September 3, 2010, 2K Games announced that development of the long awaited "Duke Nukem Forever" video game is being continued by Gearbox Software and is going to be released by Take Two Interactive sometime in 2011 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, one developer confirmed in an online interview.

Gearbox CEO, Randy Pitchford confirmed his studio were finishing the game since 2009 and 2K Games announced they have the exclusive long-term publishing rights of the IP.
