  • When I bought my DC on launch day, I only bought Sonic Adventure. I rented Armada. I actually traded in Sonic Adventure for Armada after I had to return it to Blockbuster. This games only flaw was it came out before online play was implemented. Armada 2 was supposed to remedy that. Instead, they announced it was going to be ported to the Xbox. Then I bought an Xbox, and later, they cancelled it. When I play my DC nowadays, this is one of the 4 games I still play on a regular basis.

  • The gameplay in this game reminds me of the spore space stage which was the most detailed part of that particular game.

  • I have this game, and I'll say, it is underrated.

  • There was supposed to be a sequel to this game on the XBox which would allow you to colonize different planets and such, but I don't think it was ever released.

  • @2redaces Its out for the pc, and its online go search armada online in google sorry cant post normal links anyways its free and fun and alot of ppl play it

  • Are there any similar games to this?

  • @agetro82 Its out for the pc, and its online go search armada online in google sorry cant post normal links anyways its free and fun and alot of ppl play it

  • Ill show you my armour!

  • I AM KILLGORE!

    SURRENDER!

  • Flatspace I & II for the PC are somewhat similar games, if you enjoyed this one you may like those.

  • I have good memories of this game.

  • @beerasaurus then Its out for the pc, and its online go search armada online in google sorry cant post normal links anyways its free and fun and alot of ppl play it, you dont need a good comp to play it

  • Dave is still working for Classic Game Room as a writer.

  • @blizzofozz really? i thought he's doing some kind of school work or something.

  • it is true endings of the Japanese games are so unpredictable

  • this reminds me of the p'radikus conflict for NES, just a lot prettier.

  • All I know is back in the day I played this game as much as I could until I beat it, even going so far as to be able to relatively safely travel the most dangerous areas of space. By the time I was near the end of the game I was seeing gameplay whenever I closed my eyes. I can still recall what it was like, and I still conjure up flashbacks. 'Twas an interesting time, and a great game.

  • Everyone says Armada is mediocre, but it's one of my favorite Dreamcast games. Probably in the top 5

  • The first time they appear in person!

  • @bl4ckw1ngz64 Cool. I didn't know that.

  • view complete version of this video here from avatz, net change , to .

  • Dave seem like Mark's young padawan to me. Even though they are probably the same age.

  • @MrBacchus18 no, no, no, Dave is the true game fan! Dave is the leader in my eye, marks awesome too, but dave is just more passionate and open minded about all the games they review

  • Young Mark!! :)

  • Love the Bloodsport reference.

  • is there any games like this on xbox live?

  • @cruicksta

try Aqua Naval Warefare and 0 day attack on earth

  • HEY SEAMAN! What the hell is going on out there F*CK YOU!

  • I bought a Dreamcast recently and Armada was the first game I downloaded for it, I was impressed the first game I download was not only good but really good.

Btw this my girlfriends account so please don't bother replying.

  • @donnahanson u have a gf LOL

  • Yes this is worth playing. it's only about $10 on ebay.

    It's a blast!

I played it in 2000, and put like 50 hours into it.

It's so addicting & fun, especially multi player battling and going after the credits.

And I usually don't go for these type of games.

I still have my original DC & this game!

  • there's a sequel called armada online, and its made by the same guys that made armada DC

  • Is this game worth buying?

  • Does this game have an ending? I remember beating some huge brain and then... nothing. No more missions. No more story. Nothing. Did I miss something?

  • No, you didn't. The missions end, and you can start the campaign over again, but it's not necessary. Basically all there is to do, is save up the money to get the most expensive weapons from the secret store, and try getting strong enough to make it all the way to the end of the world. Yes, there is an end... It's been roughly 7 years since I've played this through, but I believe it is 1,000,020 in either direction on the axis. Once you get the highest ship stage, you get infinite everything.

  • One of the best games for Dreamcast, I remember buying it and loving it and playing it for hours. Definitely check it out if you are a fan of sandbox RPGs and dont mind a little mindless firepower mayhem.

  • How did I not know about this game?

  • they are classic game room

    they about everything

  • Holy crap I remember this game. I been trying to locate of copy of this for ages.

  • What are they talking about... what does lola do? I've been looking for it on google videos and on youtube but I can't find anything... can someone tell me what happens?... o.o

  • you didn't get the joke?

  • I got the joke, just... what happens... I assume it's something sexual related but I can't be sure... Is there ANY footage of this anywhere.

  • it's not in the game, that was the joke

  • she does pr0nz with you.

  • i've been wondering that for a while.

  • there can only be one!?!?!?!?

  • what ever happened to Dave

  • @crazypokemonmaster he died in the robotron incident don't you rember him getting crushed by the giant robot thingy.

  • @crazypokemonmaster he went back to NJ

  • @crazypokemonmaster Dave's not here, man!

  • @crazypokemonmaster i think he moved

  • i still have my dreamcast lol!

  • This game is sexy! It puts me in the mood!! =D

  • I just keep finding crazy fun games like this for my Dreamcast. Best £30 I've spent in a long time ^_^

  • The grand daddy of this game would be Empire! for the zx spectrum. I had alot of fun with that game.

  • Nice game, but not for me! It reminds of too much of those Dorky star trek games I used to play on my PC! I 'll take Starcraft anyday of the week!!

    Thanks dudes!

  • im number 7000! can u believe it?

  • why did they bleep out ship at the end.

  • how come people don't talk about this like the gamecube, xbox, and PS2? it came out in 1999, so it looks like the first 128 bit console, so sega was ahead for it's time, so it should be still making console. did no one buy them, or something? were the games shitty?

  • Sega shouldn't of released the Dreamcast so soon, I'm sure if they waited, and released it when ps2,xbox and gamecube came out it would of been much better, many more features, maybe even better graphics... the dreamcast never reached it's full potential either... I wish it would of stuck around, there would be so many games out... it would rock!

  • what are you talking about... oh wait... the 360 came out before this gen. of consoles, so I just got confused and assumed it came out in 2000. don't need to call me an idiot though.

  • well that was mature.

  • uh huh huh, yeah.

  • hmmm. maybe i should not have started a flame war...

  • freak

  • loser

  • cun´t

  • more like 200million

  • does anyone know of a PC port of this game?

  • Google Armada Online, it's not a port but the same guys that came up with the idea are making it.

  • few games are more difficult than zaxxons mother base 2000. Games are certainly not that hard anymore.

  • new games suck nowadays they are far too easy, the old games will always be the best.

  • we have like new consoles and whatever...but we also have a old 32x with lots of its games, its bloody hard to finish starwars, blackthrone, shadow squadron.... even to do well at virtua racings really tough.. its just not like our other machines at all, in that its frikin hard.

  • TAILS, YOU'RE GONNA CRASH AH!... gotta love the terrible voice acting of the past.

That, Megaman 8 and X4... just god awful...

  • COOL

  • we need the classic classic game room back, HD is great, but I'd love to see the old boys back someday!

  • Agreed... agreed.

  • @xgamer3000 Try to find the Dave's interview, might give ya some answers why he didn't come back.

  • @xgamer3000 They're fat and ugly, now. e/t

  • @xgamer3000 Yeah I wonder what Dave's doing these days..

  • So many memories of 1999. A time before the world whent to total shit. But, hopefully time repeats it's self... in which I'll get to relive 1999 again. And now... again. Wait, right now sucks. Never mind...

  • didnt go shit. did you play GTA 3?

  • sonic adventure 1, Dreamcast, N64, PS1, those were the good old days of 99 :(

  • A-men.

  • i remember segas voices from house of the dead

    god they where bad

  • i will be making dreamcast reviews soon

  • Asteroids kind of does shoot back.

when you shot a asteroid it throws rocks at you lol

  • And aren't there UFO's sometimes that shoot you?

  • What made you decide to move from Bookcase & Pampas Grass set to Green Screen in the original series?

  • Great review Mark. Your videos make me want to review my console & game collection, both retro & modern. Keep 'em comin mate.. ( Yes im aussie, lol ) Regards

  • I've been thinking about buying a Dreamcast for a while now and this review made me take the plunge. I got this game and Virtua Tennis. I never knew about this game until now and it looks awesome. Thanks for the great review. Keep up the good work.

  • The Asteroids would'nt shoot back but the little UFO that flys across the screen does.

  • Man I really like the Classic (Classic Game Room). I haven't seen one in awhile. I do miss Dave. I really like two pronged attacked of reviewing the games.

With that said though Mark has continued the series fantastically. If you don't own the Classic Game Room dvd retrospective buy it. Totally worth it.

    Great review here.

  • i personaly like it better when hes alone

his sarcasm is funny but having two people kills it

    still good review though
