  • AH we have the same TARDIS exploding poster!! yay :)

  • Definetely inspired to restart blogging~ Thanks

  • Your poster makes me smile! But that's probably due to the fact that I have the same one. YAY FOR DOCTOR WHO!

  • It's so apparent even between mine and my parent's generation the difference. My mum is a technophobe and this is why I haven't even told her I vlog on youtube because she just doesn't understand the internet like our generation does and never will and it makes me sad that I can't share that with her :L

  • My 15-year-old niece told me once, "Uncle I didn't know you were THAT old..." I am 25, and I had just told her how I remember listening to Michael Jackson on Casette tape on my walkman.

I also got a letter from my county when I turned 25, that I am no longer considered young.

    why thank you world! :D

    haha

  • You're right ;)

  • @TorinoAndGriffith as always.

  • Oh how I know the feeling! Even though my grandparents have tried to get hip! I think my grandmother has facebook and I actually think she stalks her grandchildren a bit (since she does not really know what else to do on there), and my other grandmother has skype.. she just keeps forgetting her password. Silly lady! - Oh i btw love your vlogs, they are lovely! :)

  • @xdanishcarrot thanks :) my grannies are too scared to try, one of them doesn't understand a laptop track pad.

  • I was a bit worried when I saw the title. I thought you were going to say that YOU felt old, which would have made me sad because I turned 25 yesterday :-/

Glad that's not what it was about ^_^

Also, I actually had lunch with my grandmother yesterday, and I was thinking about exactly the same things!

I do hope I will be able to keep up with things, at least a little bit, when I grow old. I feel like my grandmother is kinda missing out on some things. But who knows, maybe I'M the one missing out.

  • @nicciweasley you just wrote down my thought. good to know we're on the same page :)

  • It's just like parents on Facebook, they come up to you, all proud of the fact they sent you a friend request. Then you decline and they get all insulted. Lol.

  • Watching your vlogs are therapeutic for me...not in a weird way...but, I was just having a mild panic attack a few mins ago and as I was watching your video it relaxed me enough to where my breathing finally returned to normal. You just have such a calming way about you. :)

  • @thestoryweaver really? wow thanks i never thought i was a calming person but i'm glad i made you feel better :)

  • My grandparents are quiet hip. My grandfather has a computer, and if he has a problem, like 'how should I turn the computer on?' He calls me. He asks me all sorts of questions. The weirdest thing however, is that he can do 'f^ck you', with the middle finger and all. He does that to me sometimes. Hilarious!

  • i love your videos and i always have to teach my nan stuff. like i we got her a massive mobile phone so she could see the number and then it is always off haha

  • I think the craziest thing is that, just with my little laptop, I have access to more information than the whole world did 100 years ago. That's crazy.

  • My grandma is ALWAYS on farmville. Whenever she's over, she sets timers that remind her when she needs to harvest her crops. She's an odd one, she is...

  • @YouveBeenLaurified i hope the genes have been passed on.

  • My grandma is often on the internet >_> I was born into an electronic obsessed family :D

  • My grandma's considerably young compared to other people's grandparents, she's 63 and pretty hip, but she doesn't like computers xDDD

  • At least your grandma knows what Skype is. That's pretty impressive. How did she even discover such a thing?

  • @1992Jarhead oh i think she heard about it on the radio, which is v old fashioned of her <3

  • Your grandchildren will be super embarrassed if you try to be hip then haha.

  • My grandma refuses to buy a computer...

  • INTERWEB FRIENDZ. My grandpa just starting using the computer and he is quite fascinated. He grew up in a remote village and I think that he is adjusting to this new way of life. He's confused out of his mind, but he likes all the technology. My grandma knows it's there but she just doesn't bother with it because she thinks it's too much for her to handle, and she's fine with that. I think I might video respond to this soon. Nice vlog Emma :)

  • @reevuna ooh a video response would be so exciting :D your grandpa sounds awesome.

  • Emma, I swear, I will pay you money to never stop making videos.

I would… also pay you money to knit a really big, long Ravenclaw scarf for me. Ehm.. if you want to, you know.. Mm.

Also, DA FEBZ is in less than a month. Yeah.

    x

  • @romanticcustard LESS THAN A MONTH. Bbz i shall start knitting you one, but if we want it to be of sufficient length and snuggliness it may take some time. But i'm on it.

  • @Bealerrr Oh, I bet it's worth the wait<3

  • On a brighter note, when my grandma first got a mobile, it took us ages to tell her that the green button meant to pick up the phone, and the red meant to hang up. Similarly, my mum still doesn't understand there is no film in a digital camera (we caught her opening the back of her camera phone trying to slot in a roll of film).

  • On the topic of remembrance and poppies, my village back down in England holds a service in which the high street is blocked from traffic, all the villagers line the street and the army, air and navy cadets from the local public school march down and all stand to attention by the war memorial, where the names of the dead are read out, then followed by the minute silence. I have to say for me, the dead should be remembered as they are as much our future and present as they are our past :)

  • @JohnTalksToYou i agree, but i guess it's being forgotten and inevitably no one will be remembered personally. Have you read The Fault in Our Stars? John Green said that every person would only have to remember 14 people and then every one who ever lived would be remembered.

  • Yesterday my gran asked me what the internet was, how do you even explain what the internet is to a woman who I've seen use the phone to try to change the channel. Epic fail.

  • Hi! I thought this was really interesting video. :) My grandparents are quite internet savvy in the sense that they've created twitter and facebook accounts and have jolly old fun working out how to use them! But I think I'd have a hard time explaining things like youtube and internet friends to them. - E :)

  • @CharlotteAndEsme Oh god, even parents are technologically behind, and hate the idea of facebook. I can't imagine having grandparents in on it xD

  • Being old doesn't necessarily lead to not understanding and participating in modern life :) I am nearly 55 after all and use all kind of technology every day. Not to mention watching your videos.

  • @johnetie Yeah, i should have said that for a lot of people they feel cut off, but obviously plenty of people (like your lovely self) are fortunate enough to be a computer nerd like the youth :)

  • Also, today's episode was quite deep in thought. I liked it. Keep making videos! :D

  • @ahlaenxna haha i plan too :) keep writing nice things on them yeah? deal.

  • I thought you said "I like titles." Then I comprehended. :)
