  • For mannerheim!

  • Fuck Russia

  • @Finland1965 Fuck Finland

  • @zzerDrezz Finland fucked Russia, you're right.

  • mannerheim is swedish

  • @1337BananaL33TVostok No, he is not. He is finnish, he was born in Askainen and his family came from Germany. Why in the name of god do you think he was swedish? Guy who was born in the Grand Duchy of Finland in the Russian Empire is far from being swedish, just saying... Before his family moved to Finland in the late 1700's, they lived in Sweden many years, but Carl Gustaf only spent few months in Sweden after he came back from Russo-Japanese war.

  • @Zuomigundi i did not know that mannerheim was german but his mother tongue is swedish.

  • @1337BananaL33TVostok Mannerheim was not german, he was finnish. His family came originally from Germany (they moved away from there in 1600's).

And there are 300 000 finnish people who speak swedish as their mother tongue. They are still as finnish as I am. Speaking swedish doesn't make people be swedish, bro.

  • @1337BananaL33TVostok So mother tongue determines ones nationality? US Americans and Australians are British then? Brazilians are Portuguese, Argentinians are Spanish etc.? Nice facts you got there

  • Mannerheim saved Suomi!!

  • @WhiteNordicWarrior

Yes, Mannerheim saved Finland at least three times. During the civil war and twice during WW2.

  • Still unforgotten in Germany!

  • @luckyowl249

    Vielen Dank!

  • sollten einen film über sein leben drehen !!!

  • i'm actually his descendant

  • a great hero.Mannerheim and finnish people über alles.

    5*****

  • Imagine standing there like him.. everyone's watching you thinking: "that's a real man, not a quitter, a leader, a man who fights until his limps are completely shred and wont give up until his body's burnt down to the ground.. a man with pride"

  • Ett litet lands största styrka är enighet.

    C.G.E. Mannerheim

  • mannerheim is the leader that shows just bechose you have facial hair does not make you evil.

    Royaume de Thailand

  • on whom conscience of hundred thousand citizens of the USSR which it has directed in camp of death of Hitler, from for which with hunger millions inhabitants of Leningrad will die

  • the mongrel, on whose conscience of hundred thousand citizens of the USSR which it has directed in camp of death of Hitler

  • @sss7773

Lol who bombed who first moron. The Soviet Union invaded Finland what they should of just let Stalin rape their whole country. Get real your just another wannabe commie bastard. They would of kept you cause your not bright so can be cannon fodder for artillery and bullets. You, would not last few moments cause if served in red army basically had better shot of winning the lottery than surviving. Stalin just threw the Russians in like sheep leading to the slaughter.

  • I would add that June 4th should be a national holiday in Finland!

  • Mannerheim was a great man. Here in the United States, he was honored with a postage stamp after his death.

I have taken a tour of his home in Helsinki and saw his grave in Helsinki too.

I have been to his military HQ in Mikkeli.

And I have also seen the monument to him by Lake Geneva in the Swiss city of Montreux.

  • @JamieM63 Souns wonderfull!

  • German troups destroyed sami lands when they left Finland, just to leave nothing eatable for the Russian. Of course the Samis got mad with the Nazis.

Plus, when Finland discovered that your beloved Germany was going to loose the war, they started to change the side, hmmm very clever, but a bit coward as well.

  • Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, Suomen Marsalkka, Suomen tasavallan kuudes presidentti.

  • @Isanmaantoivo100 Kenraalien kenraali.

  • @Isanmaantoivo100 Venäläinen upseeri

  • Tää video oli aivan liian lyhyt :)

  • @Wofaze Kuinka niin?

  • Great clip! A true hero of Europe!

  • @AnteBragd Miracles have been done by finnish people under his leadership. Show me another man who really saved a nation and against the worst odds.

  • Marski on äijä!

Rohkeasti sinne minne Marskin miekka näyttää tien =)

  • He is one my heroes. I'm not Finnish but off-spring of German and Swedish heritage. Thanks to Finland for their bravery of standing tall to Stalin.

  • amen

  • Mannerheim spoke better Russian than Finnish because he had studied in Russia. He belonged to Finland's Swedish speaking minority and his skills in Finnish were quite poor. However, he is one of the greatest heros for us. Nice achievement for a Swedish baron.

  • Well even though he would have spoken chinese he did save this country 3 times ...

  • Carl Gustaf var en sann hjälte ! och då menar jag mannerheim och inte dagens svenska kung som bär samma namn :D

Gammal svenska hansa släkt dock !

  • Did Mannerheim knew about the concentration camp in Ekenäs in 1918?

  • Don't know but he certainly know about the concentration camps of Russian Civilians -some 20 000 persons - at far Karelia, because he gave order about it. According to modern Finnish research a very high percent were died because of starving. This make Mannerheim to a first class war criminal at WWII. He could be happy that it was not US citizens. ...

  • All is documeted well. Finland can thank one man of its independece. That man is Mannerheim,. he was not a saint, but a genleman, person of his time. He did not respect Hitler at all but he had to accept their help. We had jewish officers in headquaters. simple people take only one false news and repeat it like mantra.

  • 3. the First winter war - CGM was against it as he thought that the borders of 1721 was the right "Tsar Peters borders" By CGM genius - he was the best imperial defence general - and Swedish equipment the war was nearly won.

    4. The late war there Finland was fighting at full German allied. Again CGM genius helped Finland

    5. After WWII when US, GB and Soviet said. "Please arrest your president Risto Ryti and his government as war criminals. CGM is the only man we trust at. (This is true!

  • @Stingwulf yep, US and GB said that. I think you meant that Soviet said

  • If Finland had not been Nazi-Germany's allied at operation Barbarossa WWII could probably been half year shorter in Europe. Now Soviet had to use a couple of armies to defend Leningrad against Finland. There are quite much new research published in this subject now...

  • @Stingwulf Finland did never attack leningrad...they just took what was occupied from the winterwar by the russians and some more to the easty so soviet aircraft couldent reach helsinki (Helsingfors)...Then they stopped and defended what they had occupied... Unfortunaly with no success... Yes they where about some kilometers from leningrad but even when hitler commanded that Finland should attack mannerheim said nothing else but "no"...

  • CGM saved Finland five times:

    1. In the freedom war, but as soon he had won it the Finnish government fired him and said that it was some today forgotten officer that had done the main work.

    2. As the Finnish government had been at the German side in WWI. They also tried to get a German prince as king. USA, GB and France said to the Finnish goverment."CGM is your only person we thrust" Please make him to Governor (riksföreståndare)

  • @Stingwulf 1 False 2 In Finland like in other countries monarchy was an option but not even near to happen 3 Swedish equipment? 4 Co-belligerent, not allied with own aims at war 5 War trials were shameful and theatrical as well as illegal 6 Sweden is not to be trusted, cowards and backstabbers

  • 1.True. See Jägerskiölds The BIG standard Biography. 2.Finnish nationalists have always been German oriented at two WW. 3 Swe Eqt! See CGM "Memories" first edition or do CGM lye? 4. well GB declare Finland war, Norway nearly do, US did military operations to Finland... 5. Illegal? at that time US, GB and Soviet was still allied. The problem is that Finland has not cleaned up after WWII as Austria. 6. Another Swedish-hater? I have met them...Sweden have always get shit when helping Finland

  • "Finnish nationalists have always been German oriented"

You say that like it is a bad thing. At least Aksel Airo was not trained by Germany. Still true.

Germans helped us alot. Even DDR was interested of us and I am shame to say that many of our politicians and former SS men like Sulo Suorttanen had connections to the Stasi.

But what was Sweden doing in the Cold War? Pretending to be neutral while at the same time kissing the american arse.

  • Comment removed

  • @Stingwulf at two WW? Do you even realize that Finland was part of Russia during WWI? Yes, many of our youngsters volunteered as jaegers to Germany, but that was because nor Sweden either Norway didn't give them soldier's training and we didn't have one.

  • I have double-checked. The help was even bigger; 90000 rifles and 50 million cartridges. The economic help was of the same amount as the entire Finnish budget of the state one year. When the Swedish minister H Eriksson met Molotov September 1940 his comment was " The Finnish war? that was YOUR war!" Molotov bad informed?

CGM was Scandinavian and west-orientated and personal friend of Winston Churchill. A small notice- they spoke French with each other because the have the same background.

  • @Stingwulf Finland bought war supplies and got aid all over the world. Not enough. People even gathered their gold jewelry to be melted and sold abroad to buy guns and ammunition. Sweden was not involved in WWII and was afraid of SU and Germany. UK and France was only interested in mines in the North (against SU and Germany interests).

  • @Stingwulf Mannerheim's ancestry was Dutch and he spoke fluently several languages as a Finnish officer (Russian, Swedish, English etc.) Mannerheim was Finnish. WWII was fought by Finland, not Sweden. UK reluctantly declared war on Finland due to super power politics. They sided with the worst mass murderer in the history of mankind. Stalin.

  • @Stingwulf Finland lost 8-9% of population fighting alone. Your ignorance and comments insult Finns. I recently honoured my forefathers who gave their lives in Talvisota and Jatkosota, awarded with metals by Mannerheim. I would have rather seen the Swedish dead, if it was "your war". Do you even know what oak leaves on a grave mean. And do not go on no more.

  • Read; Carl Gustav Mannerheim "Minnen"

    Jägerskiöld. "1906-17", "1918" and "Fältmarskalken"

Henrik Arnstad " Spelaren Christian Gunther"

to start with. Föte lite tvångsvenska kan du säkert

Then you can come back for a serious discussion.

(one of my ancestors was officer-friend to one of CGMs ancestors at the French Regiment " Le Royal Suedois")

  • "one of my ancestors was officer-friend to one of CGMs ancestors at the French Regiment " Le Royal Suedois")"

    Oh is this so?

"The Marshal leads the war, but I lead the battles"

    -Aksel Airo-

I guess so much for using Mannerheim as your swedish nationalist propaganda. And don"t you dare try to claim that Aksel Airo was a swede even if Mr.Airo did study in France.

  • I be honest, I do believe that both of us are gentlemen: But the problem is that both in Finland and Sweden there are forbidden unnoticed histories. In Finland you have just started to open discuss the civil war but WWII is still a mine-field. In Sweden it is "forbidden" to talk about what mr Erlander was doing under WWII and the complete secret agreement with USA postwar. We had no good army but nr3 Air-force in the world, just because US want it: It is always the people that are the losers.

  • @Stingwulf In Sweden you have written your history using imagination. Sad but true. Our Civil War has not been an issue since 1939 nor hidden., WWII archives and museums are open to everyone. Some material and photos (Partisan attacks, killings and rapes of babies, elderly and women) were banned for 60 yrs to keep up the moral of the Finnish army). Do you not spread horseshit. You are worse than a Russian statistic.

  • Mannerheim is the # 1 kiitos, mr. Mannerheim!

  • The beautiful examplar grand seigneur european nobility. One of the great leader which come from Scandinavian nations. Great soldier and commander- in chief the Finnish Army whose fought excellent with Russians in winter time. Long live the Finnish nation and their heroes!!!!

  • Does it matter where his family was from? Mannerheim himself was born in Finland, yeah he spoke swedish as he mothertongue. so?

I speak swedish as my first language, does that make a swede? Nope.

  • Well done! Good work about one of the most noble European warriors! Without him, the communist barbarians would have occupied Finland.

  • Mannerheim had german origins. Swedes try to claim that every famous person here is a swede.

    How funny.

Airo and Mannerheim both were finnish nationalists who worked together. Sweden was pussy during WW2.

  • My grandmothers brother enlisted for the Swedish-Volunteerccorps and fought in the Winterwar....so you should not say that Sweden was pussys during WW2. We gave Finland enormus amount of supplies by the ice-road of Kvarken. He had swedish origins because he learned as much Finnish as Churchill learned French. So read books....

  • Kaikki Ruotsalaiset on niin homoja! :D

  • @ss90ss444 Finland was Nazigermany's most important allied during WW2. CGM was against the both Finnish nationalist war against Soviet. see Jägerskipölds biography. In the first winter war Sweden supported Finland with 60000 rifles, 40 milj cartridges 1000 brand new Bofors guns with ammo (Finland had totally some 100) winter coats to the entire Finnish army (see CGM "minnen") a small airforce, Finland had none....and should we talk about Tali and Tienanhaara...;o)

  • Voisiko joku kertoa tämän musiikin nimen.

  • 1:03 varmaan paras kuva Mannerheimista elementissään, mistäköhän saisi...

  • 5 stars!!!

His origins are irrelevant, He chose Finland for his Fatherland... Because of Him, Russkie still runing in Siberia... Hail for Great Mannerheim!!!

Hail For Finland!!! Hail from Serbia, my Finnish friends...

  • Besides being a father figure to the Finnish army and nation during our wars with the Soviet Union, and afterwards, Mannerheim was first and foremost a follower in the tradition of Imperial Russia. He was not an enemy of Russia but of the Bolsheviks and Communism. He was a traditional soldier aristocrat in the Modern Age.

  • Mannerheim was a great leader. The Mannerheim line will always be a historic monement what ever. If his roots came from somewhere else, well who cares..

He lead the brave Finns who actually never surrended, but had to compromise the 13 Mars 1941. All my respect to your fathers, suns and doughters.

  • Finland is an indipendent and free country now and every citizen are going to protect it. Our history have told us that our only chance to have a free country is to protect it like our ancestors did, both finns and finlandswedes.

  • Sorry, Im not gonna make other people miserable for the sake of my own happines.

  • To get some clarity in this: Mannerheim was a finlandswede who was patriotic towards Finland.

Finlandswedes are finns who speaks swedish.

Finlandswedes are patriotic towards their country, Finland.

Some in Sweden thinks that finlandswedes feels patriotic towards Sweden but they have no idea. It's just the language that is the same now.

Things have changed very much after Sweden lost Finland to Russia. ---------->

  • well said!

  • all importent peoples in finland are swedes...

  • Mannerheim was not swede

  • so,he was finnish?

  • Yes, he was Finn

  • And that nobel family moved to Finland far before Carl Gustav, so he himself was Finn.

  • Yes, Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden was great leader and Finns followed him proudly.

But Carl Gustav Mannerheim was Finn who spoked swedish. Language does not make nationality.

  • @MythicSJK this is a big true. Language it´s a expresion of a culture, and together, an expresion of a race, ethnic from a folk.

  • How is he Swedish? The family originally hails from Holland and integrated into the Swedish-speaking upper class of Finland, which by this time can in no way be viewed as simply "Swedish". The Normans of Ireland, who became "more Irish than the Irish themselves" are a closer paralell than the Baltic Germans.

  • @FinnsAreMongols finnish not swedish

  • @FinnsAreMongols In Finland theres a lot of swedish blood in people. I too have swedish ancestors but I think ugric finns are the more resilient bunch than swedes. Sweden would have succumbed to Russia.

  • @FinnsAreMongols you are the worst kind of person there is. Did you do the finnish army to learn how to defend your county? No you sat you your fat ass and did nothing. I rest my case, and I wish you rot with terrible diseases until the end of time.

  • @FinnsAreMongols you are the worst kind of person there is. Did you do the finnish army to learn how to defend your county? No you sat you your fat ass and did nothing. I rest my case, and I wish you rot with terrible diseases until the end of time. and on top I would also say you are a dickless piece of shit and i'd want to see you come up with something to rival what valtakunnan maralkka mannnerheim has done for us FINNISH people.

  • so following that logic, today's swedish king, carl XVI gustaf, is french?

  • well, lift your nose about three posts further up, to your previous one...

  • @MythicSJK He was swedish, he did not even speak finnish.Educated in Russia, he was a russian officer

  • @nurmiar he was a finn-swede like me and 300,000 others, our language doesn't make us swedes, we're all finns.

  • @balticwater But he was a russian educated officer..speaked russian, german, french and swedish, not finnish

  • @nurmiar i was born in finland and speak swedish and english fluently, both MUCH better than my finnish, also know a bit of german. what's the difference really? if i go study abroad we're the same? am i no longer a finn then?

  • @nurmiar no nurmier that does not make him swedish it makes him finnishswedish...

    its a big difference

  • Mannerheim oli suuri ja hyvä mies, levätköön hän rauhassa.

  • Mannerheim is a Swedish name he got it when he was knighted 1693 in Sweden there was no Finland (former name was Marhein) his mother tongue was Swedish... a Finland-Swede...

  • Before his family migrated to Sweden they were Germans, so there's not much finnish about the Mannerheims.

  • Mannerheim is just as much a Swedish name as Guillou...

  • The family was knighted in Sweden 1693 with that name...

  • the family originates from germany, like many other families in sweden around these years. stockholm in the 17th century was probably just a s much german, dutch, flemish, as it was 'swedish'.

    learn your history.

  • Read what i wrote... the German name was Marhein, but was changed to Mannerheim when the family was knighted therefore it´s a Swedish name!!!

  • yes, they changed name after they had arrived in sweden. so what? they were still pretty much germans, which you also easily can tell by the new name.

just don't get your point. what do you want to say?

  • The Finnish legend

  • Great person: russish general, finnish marshal. Rest in peace, Carl. From still occupied Russland with love. Never surrender. Long live white guard, long live free Finland and some day Russland will be free. God with us.

  • Yes, one day, all the land from Karelia and Ladoga to the Urals will be free and Finnish. The hot Russian women will throw Premier/Czar Putin in the Volga along with all his aparatchicks. All the Finns will line up to piss on Lenin's tomb. And we will turn Red Square into a pub/toilet! Greater Finland will prevail!! SUOMI SUOMI UBER ALLES UBER ALLES IN DER WELT!

  • @NoAimJustGame agree - my family fought with the whites and had to retriete from ihantala and finally the russians destroyed it. But i tell you this - I will fight to the end of me for the ideals my family fought for and what Maski stood for. White Finland 4 ever.

  • Mannerheimin niskoille punaisiin kohdistunutta terroria on turha laittaa, koska:

  • Mannerheim was living and fighting for Finland. A great person. Luckely he wasnt from Sweden, becouse then he must have been neutral....

  • Mannerheim oli suomen itsenäistaistelun perikuva saatanan klopit pitäkää turpanne kiinni

  • "Non-belligerent" is the correct stance in the case of Finland...

  • HAHAHAHAHAH! I havent hear this kind of bad joke in looong time!

  • How dare you come here and say nonsense like that. "Everything good in Finland is invented by Swedes btw." I can say many facts that finns cannot thank swedes for anything. They tried to rewrite finnish ideology that we are some kind of subhumans for start and also history where was no place for finns. Swedish time wasn't anything else than occupation. Swedes didn't care if peasants got crop failure, they still collected their taxes.

  • Do you even know how many finns lost their life because of those actions? I don't think so. Swedes even stoled land from poor peasants (everything that they owned, houses etc.), watch collection of taxes in Palvasalmi aka Saarijärvi. So big thank for swedes.

When Swedish time ended in 1809 Finland started to grow in every aspect:

    - Finland has money to use, didn't need to pay taxes to Sweden.

    - Not compulsory military service anymore, finnish men didn't fight anybody elses wars.

  • - When Swedish time ended, in Finland there was only 700 000 people, and it grew to 3 million in 100 years.

    - Finnish langue got its place that belonged to it.

    - etc...

If you pick some "swedish" sounding names from Finland you should also watch a little bit deeper than that. How long those families have lived in Finland, do they see themselves as a swede or more finn. Are they really swedes related or just finns who has changed names to swedish type.

  • For example you said name Elias Lönnrot and i guess you also knew that his family name is Tolpo which is purely finnish.

  • haha heja sverige and your genius... actually, the mannerheim family is originated from Germany, where they moved to Sweden during the 17th century... but Carl Gustav is born in Finland not Sweden! and his name manner means continent in finnish ;)... hmjaa when swedes has give a shit to Runeberg(born in Jakobstad, Finland), what I have read a week ago there's people who don' t even know who he is :D

  • Groschkik

Very many finnish families had swedish language names, some of them have swedish language names still today. Even my family´s name was swedish, but my family changed it to finnish name during the late 19th century. You are really stupid if you think that swedish language family name means that somebody is swedish. Mannerheim is a german family name, but Mannerheim was purely a finnish guy though his family once long ago had german roots. Sweden, that scum on earth, sucks forever :)

  • By the way, does anyone know if there exists a similiar tributefilm to Jozef Pilsudski, the Polish Mannerheim? I haven't been able to find one with this kind of quality and mighty music.

  • Mannerheim was not only the savior and leader of Finland. He was also the savior of all the Nordic countries against the Sovjet imperialism and an inspiration for all free nations and peoples to never give up resistance against bolshevism. Kuoko Karjala Kuome Suomele, The Whole of Karelia Belongs To Finland. Greetings from Sweden, your grateful neighbour.

  • Mannerheim is a great Finnish man.

    Greetings from Poland.

  • Yes he was indeed.

  • I thought I had commented in this video..maybe it was just a thought of commenting but I abandoned the idea. Well anyway, now I am commenting.

Good video. Pity that there are no pics of Mannerheim's late life in Switzerland.

P.S. Remember that "Finnish" is wrote with a capitol F. ;)

  • a very good vid indeed!

  • First:

X-Ray Dog - Here Comes The King

    Second:

    X-Ray Dog - My Home

  • the finnish people have a lot to thank him for. great vid!

  • Awesome video!! Mannerheim was an awesome leader!! Cheers from America!!

  • upea teos!!

  • Mannerheim is the most important historical character in the Nordic history.
