Nice playing, Pedro. Your vihuela attracts my curiousity. Judged against the volume of your speaking voice, it projects well, with (at least in your hands) a clear, firm voice. I like it. Coincidentally, I have made one or two vihuelas myself, and consider them to be the most difficult instrument make well. Mine are somewhat more lute-like in sound, this one. perhaps a little more reminiscent of the guitar (you might say). Interesting - it gives me some things to think about. Thanks.

The vihuela co-existed with the guitar, which was smaller and tuned in D. It derived from the Spanish bowed "fidula" of the 15th century.

on the guitar it would be the third string in # f instead of g. the pitch wasn't standardized at that time. (in the sources you often find a G for the lowest string, so using a capo on the second or third fret might come close to the original tuning) but can't help you on the shopping issue, sorry :)

@Geist40 The vihuela de mano is the Spanish version of the lute. It has six courses (double strings) plus a single string, tuned like a lute: G C F A D G==OR==

C F Bb D G C.
