With the Twike Active, the pedals aren't connected to the wheels like a bike, they are in some way connected to the motor and are designed to relieve the batteries, thus extending the range (by pedalling, you are in fact, creating power). I often think of the Twike Active as a human/electric hybrid.

This is the sort of vehicle that should be mass produced and sold for under $5000. Otherwise it will never take off as a true "alternative vehicle".

I would love to own a Twike, I have already driven one for an afternoon. The new li-ion batteries give it the range to be a really practical vehicle.
I need to gather the money and research possibilities of sponsoring.
