....without a doubt Joe has done some serious practice. The only thing that is a little off putting however, is the loud tapping he uses to keep the beat in his songs...i.e. slapping the side of his guitar face to give him the timing. Without that it would sound heaps better !!

C'mon! Don't you see the passion he puts in this song? It has a great arrangement, you should admit that @ gogobaga, right? melodie, rhythm, bass & percussion - with two hands! Anyway, though I love Eric Clapton & his (early) songs, he's not such a bitchin' guitar player as everybody says - but sure a good songwriter! And so is SJR.

And yes, comparing guitarists doesnt make sence at all :D

Seriously people? just because this kid can move his fingers fast doesn't mean he's a better guitar player than Eric Clapton and John Mayer. Clapton had and still has a sense of musicianship that Smokin Joe will probably never have. Clapton makes music that you want to listen to over and over. This guy just plays songs that impress people and don't leave a lasting impression.

@gogobaga You can't compare them. Clapton worked with Tommy Emmanuel and actually confirmed he's one of the best player he has never known. Tommy Emmanuel is actually touring with Joe Robinson. Seriously mate, this guy is an amazing player and a wonderful and down on earth person which deserve the right spot in the way he is, just himself. If an entire audience can feel the groove and the passion this guy put into the guitar, I'd assume this is a "lasting impression". You, sir, are a hater. :)

Clapton is great but very overrated as a guitarist, music cannot be compared but in terms of technical ability, Clapton can't even hold a flame to Tommy or Joe. And lastly... KEEP IT UP JOE, YOUR TALENT IS INSPIRING!!!
