@mmik I have to say, though, heaps of their songs aren't directly about JEsus, so often when people say things like that, they are justified (though sometimes, they're just totally missing the mark). I think Thrice often aims to have various songs of theirs written in the direction of Biblically related themes.... but not directly spelling out Jesus.
@JamesJon1187 Oh I know. I've listened to all of their stuff, and haven't listened to much of anything else this month... hehe
Alchemy Index 3/4 is my favorite right now, because it's one of them that I skipped over and only got back to it this month. Haven't listened to it, even though I knew about it when it was released. Come all you weary is such a good song, and so are the rest of them.
@JamesJon1187 Hold Fast Hope is my favorite song right now, after thinking it was pretty good for a while, I finally discovered it's about Jonah and the whale, and now the song all makes sense. The story speaks to me, too, because I often feel like I need something to throw me overboard. I need to be swallowed.
@JamesJon1187 Sorry, I'm getting a bit deep here, but it's because I'm skeptic-leaning-religious, and like many people I'm a bit hung up on the "evidence" and such. I just feel like if something were to happen in my life, to take my own plunge, I'd be able to do it.
I see, so you grew up skeptical (or non-believing), but are leaning toward Jesus now, and taking the step of faith to acutally trust him with yourself, and believing/acknowledging He is who He said He is like being thrown overboard or swallowed up? DId I understand that right?
@mmik I see. Well I hope God will give you one in that case. Jeremiah 29:13 says `you will seek me and find me when you search for me with ALL your heart`. I`ve found that true in my life. When I searched with all my heart (like, I was willing to do whatever it took to know if He was of the truth or not), God showed Himself to me in the form of truth--which till then, (being pretty narcissistic) I was too blind to acknowledge and believe.
@mmik BTW if you haven't heard it, "This Good Night's Still Everywhere" is a pretty wonderful Christmas song of his. ... I'm not particularly hot on all the other songs from his Christmas album, but that one is a good one.
guys if you think this is a religious song you are reading too far into it. Thrice is NOT a Christian band and I don't know if it can be stressed enough. Dustin's said it HIMSELF.

@mmik Cool! The title sounds like a good song. I'll check it out. How do you mean, you need something to throw you overboard?
