I don't see how anyone could compare Dimmu Borgir to Emperor...Emperor is a vastly superior band and in my opinion are The Kings of Blackmetal..In saying this i am not trying to disrespect Dimmu i believe that they are talented although their later music has not been in my opinion that great to make a long story short i prefer their older music.

In my opinion, old Dimmu Borgir sounds better, but I'd not call it black metal, just symphonic metal, just not black, their album For All Tid has some good songs like Under Korpens Vinger, but the atmosphere it creates can't be tagged as black metal, however that's just my opinion, there will be some who agree and some who don't.
