Bruno is Richard Hunt, Phil is Martin P. Robinson, and Dwayne and Dick are Kevin Clash. Pam Arciero does all the girls except for Felicity, who is performed by M. Elizabeth Houston.
Sadly, they're probably not going to show this again on Sesame Street, considering three of the four soaps parodied here, have been off the air for many years.
lol I always thought this was soooooo dumb and during that "Love of school" thing I'd always stick my middle finger up at the TV and my mom would yell at me XD
How awesome...I so remember this...and they used the old ABC soaps theme of Love in the Afternoon and nodded to two ABC soaps *All My Children and Edge of Night), one NBC soap (Another WOrld), and one CBS soap (Love of Life.
I was one of those kids who watched the PBS shows then tuned in to the soaps so this is koo.
lol I loved these spoofs. They even got the logos of the soaps they were spoofing accurate. The original book for the All My Children logo for instance.
great clip...one of several i recall. this had not been stated until now...does anybody(besides myself) note the splotchwork above bruno in the "another school" spoof?...it looks like a flatten spider! LOL! and to add there a few others of those slotch works i DO happen to like as well.
Hahahaha, I remember being 3 and 4 and watching this segment....then once the show finished and my mom took over the remote, I got a glimpse of the REAL soap operas they were parodizing! NOBODY start criticizing, I'm sure a bunch of you did the EXACT same thing as kids lol!
i should've known they were parodizing love of life, only because 1 clip on this site, a vlip of the bonus round from the 1975 cbs game show now you see it, they have the closing credits, and the announcer (Johnny Olson) says "stay tuned 4 "love of life" next over most of these cbs stations"
Only THREE stars?! This is great! Plus we get to get to hear what Jon Stone sounds like. You're right, MacLeaper, some kids would probably think it's serious by the tone of characters (I probably would have), but now it's very funny to me! Bruno has a nice Richard Hunt-Jersey accent, but who's doing the other kids? Karen Prell of Fraggle Rock fame was only on one season, but Martha might be her.
Wow- I remember seeing this one a good bit as a kid. Haven't thought about it in years- but it all came back when I saw it. I always thought the scenes were so dramatic- inducing some serious "ooh!" moments as a kid.
Oops. Houston is also Martha.

LOVE IT! And I'm speaking as both an old school Sesame Street fan, no pun intended, and an old school (1989-early '95) Another World fan!

If WCTW has a local newscast, Gabi Rodriguez & Miles Robinson are the lead anchors.

Well, considering that Edge of Night was nearing the end of its run, I'll have to say around 1984.

with the promo taht they were spoofing, did ABC do it like LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE IN THE AF TER NOOOOOOOOOOOOON!?

I know the spoofs here:
"The Edge of Night" (CBS)
"Another World" (NBC)
"All My Children" (ABC)
"Love of Life" (CBS)
Imagine placing preschoolers in front of the actual shows they were parodizing...

Ha! I remember the promo they were spoofing here - ABC's "Love in the Afternoon" from probably the late 70s, I'm guessing.
