Water conservation isn't practiced where I live, I live in a desert that has an abundance of water due to man made canals, water is so cheap every farmer uses a flood irrigation style of farming (unless your growing lettuce, which then they would use sprinklers).
What is the logic behind these old tech systems? This is irrigation inefficiency 101. Not trying to hate but just wondering why they would choose this type of system when there are so many other systems that are much more efficient and in the long run would probably cost less.
Dear friend would me you suggest me a better system than this one, what are drawbacks of this system, because I am going to buy this system for my farm, please I need your help, if you can
@abuwadandacute It would depend on your budget but if you can afford it and it matches your agriculture operation get a pivot or a drip system. The problem with this is that the wind with wreak havoc with your spray patterns and evaporate a considerable amount of water. Also the plants and soil are getting battered by extra large drops of water. I guess if its all you can afford then okay but there are many other things you can do to save water and utilize existing water before doing this.
Almost 27 thousand views. Wow. When I was a kid I was fascinated with the Rain Bird impulse spinklers. We didn't have them in our yard but my nieghbors did and when they were on I would run outside and watch.
@UtahMike41 me too. I said this to an ex girlfiend once who was a special education teacher and she said a fasination with watching water flow is a sign of autism... she did hate me by that stage though!
Yeh Komet guns are way better than a nelson, much better water dispersion and work on lower pressure, we run 202's back home with the vari-angle. Even though they got plastic, their less maitnence than the Nelson
Nope, that's a Komet Twin-140 Plus, but very similar to a Nelson Big Gun. These are a lot lighter (and cheaper) than Nelsons, since they are made of mostly plastic and aluminum. Most of the Nelson guns are made of a combination of cast aluminum and cast iron, which is why they're more expensive. And yes, that arm that keeps coming in contact with the water stream is the part that drives it.
I know a guy that has one of those and one time was adjusting it and accidentally tripped it. It came around and nailed him in the jaw. Didn't break it but he sure didn't look good.
nice rain

Thanks for this video :)
Sprinklers.iFind2.com installed mine. It was only $1899 in Richmond, TX for my entire yard. 6 zones 16 heads.
They also had a $1399 option for front and back yard only.
