@brightlights456X Your comment is rated because most people are douche bags, don't start bragging about your votes, don't be so american. @casper123 whhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaat come on bro this looks so nice not 90s.... compare it to benz and audio and any other american car in the same year 99-2001 they bmw hands down wins in looks and inteiror

all i wanna say is that i got a 1996 328i e36. Ive done nothing to it appart from a viper cross air intake. it does 0-60 in 5 seconds dont know where jeremy got 7 seconds from. The 328i can be tuned up more than the M3 a 328i can reach 1000BHP lol
All i want to do is put on the 325i manifold with a remap and she will do any standard M3 pmsl and i only paid £790 just dont mention the £700 for a new duel mass flywheel and clutch lol

Euro m3's have 320 hp while American m3's have 240 (e36 cars) and that is why they are so much cheaper. In north America and Canada the 328 has the better engine than the m3, while in europe the m3 is far superior. I have a 328I here in Canada, and love it. But then again mines an e36
hey ive got an 03 bmw 325i in automatic transmission. I got it a few months ago and in my opinion it is a wonderful car. does anyone know what the differences are between the 328 and 325 are?
I am considering buying this car. I think I found a good deal. But I need an advice. The car is white in immaculate condition in and out. Looks new. Really beautiful. The price is $5,000. The only thing that holds me back is the mileage which is 157,xxx miles. Should I get it? Please give me an advice. Can I get something similar for this price when it comes to European cars (bmw's, audi's and mercedes)?
@StandYourGrounds That looks good. As far as i've seen, some 3 series bmws (1999-2000) have as few as 80,000 miles to some with 180,000 miles. The biggest problem is reliability. It could be a headache in the future. BMW is the best in terms of reliability in the late 1990s to early 2000s. Audi and Merc are far worse. I found some 5 series bmws for about $5000 to $9000 depending on the condition with about 100,000 miles. Good luck.
i bought a 328i e46 1998 one owner lady driver ,silver, black leather, fully optioned, 82,000ks always serviced at bmw since new i payed $12,800 AUS on road the car looks new and drives new never been in a crash its imac. just one thing i want to know? whats it worth new? cheers
I’m happy with my 328i, but the only performance mods are sport suspection and the Signature Motoring performance intake for about $150. Signature Motoring kit adds around 11HP on the dyno, great sound, and the best performance upgrade for the money. See my channel videos!
-Adds 9-11 HP
-Never replace filter again (uses K&N filter)
-GREAT SOUND
-Installs in maybe 30-45 min. K&N filter lasts a lifetime.
i´´m exactly in the same situation. i sold my 325 e36 (192hp) and now i want to buy a 318ci (118hp) or 328ci (193hp). the only problem is that the 328ci needs much more gas than the 318ci. on the other side the 328ci makes much more fun.
@papidonvilla4 i really hope you didn't waste your money on an e36 because you could get a very nice 2001 330ci for $7000! definitely worth the money.
@ossaj8246 i still haven´´t bought a car. but i´ll buy a 328ci in the next months. btw u can´´t buy the 330ci for 7000$ in my area (germany). here u have to spend much more money like 12.000$ - 16.000$. i don´´t know why they are more expensive here. a lot of ppl import m3s from the usa, because they are cheaper in the usa, BUT the european cars run faster they ain´t throttled like the us version and we got "autobahn" instead of highway, where u are allowed to drive as fast as u like.
@papidonvilla4 i really hope you didn't waste your money on an e36 because you could get a very nice 2001 330ci for $7000! definitely worth the money.
@jonah805 im assuming the 1999 is the e46? personally i would go for that. but the 325 should be pretty cheap now and you can actually fool around with it more
@axtray My thoughts exactly! Thats why I can't decide. The 328i is faster, and safer. But also heavier. I have heard stories of the e46 lacking the e36's charcter. Plus the 325i is noticibly cheaper.
@jonah805 the reason why i suggested the e46 is because im going to get 1 next year myself. and i like the styling of the e46 more than the e36. that's just me though. the image of the e46 with a nice 18 inch rim surpasses any that i can think of for the e36.
but as far as fun goes, you can get a 325, swap in a s50b32 euro m3 engine and you're off for some serious fun. and probably still be cheaper than the e46.
Every E46 owner should start with the Signature Motoring performance intake kit, adds approx 8-13HP for about $170.00 Highly recommended both for performance and sound. I've got a couple of vids up with audio.
I had an E46 325i 2001 Facelift for almost 4 years. I loved it, it never let me down. Took it a few times on the Nordschleife and is was pretty fast. 09:20... ;-)
I still get compliments on my 1999 BMW 328i. It's fun to drive and has no problems at all except that my windshield wipers stopped working the other day, other than that it's very nice. I don't think I'll ever get rid of it even after all these years. It's a well built car IMO.
Lol, I don't know why Jeremy doesn't like the 3 series, I do agree BMW should have stopped producing 4 cylinder engines when they started developing the E46. There's no such thing as a ''perfect'' car, but I would always choose BMW over its competitors (Benz & Audi). Better looks & handling.
i just got a 328i a few months ago, im absolutley in love with it....its my 2nd bmw and i have to say i agree its "well rounded" maybe not the tip of the top, but for everyday driving.tight steering, solid, responsive acceleration and (in my opinion) a wonderful center console layout. this car is a real pleasure to drive. i would highly reccomend it to anyone looking to get into a BMW. especially if they haven't owned one in the past. affordable yet refined, years ahead of its time.
just bought one three weeks ago. 1999 328i full equipped. amazing car!
205000KM and running like a brand new one!
only problem, a blind granny back up out of her driveway and hit the rear left quarter of my car that was parked across the street... after only three weeks I must say this is frustrating. she didn't see the car? well she'll see the bill.
Hey Guys, just got a 323i 2000, has 97thousand miles. do you have some tips on parts that I need to replace when I hit 100thousand miles around 160km. Thanks
Well, you should get it on a lift and thoroughly check underneath. I had a tiny little leak from the differential/half-axles seal that I got fixed, changed my oil using Fuchs Titan GT1 5W40 (BMW approved, one oil change a year or 15K KM).
My airbox was busted and the filter dirty, so thrown it all away and plugged a K&N filter (3.3in) straight on the intake (I'll install a pipe next summer tho).
You don't have a lot to replace but check everything regularly to avoid big bills. Enjoy!
@OCMElPolo hey how is the reliability what have you had to replace or what will you have to replace in the future and how much will it cost i am really considering buying this car and i really need to know
@AfricanSk8ter well, mine was in decent shape but needed some attention. So far I replaced the rear shock absorbers (myself, and I'm not a handy person at all), got the drums fixed by my mechanic, and I have a wheel bearing to replace soon. I also put back the original intake. My check engine light goes off sometimes, nothing to worry about, just a faulty sensor. Before winter I'll change the fluids (brake, coolant, maybe tranny oil). Just maintain it properly, and you'll enjoy it for years!
@alexcheetah79 The maintenance all depends on what goes wrong. break a sun visor you'll end up spendn $200 for a new one. but it holds up great i have a 99 328i fully equipped and its great on gas for a v6 about 24mpg, and only had one problem whch was water pump. stupid design is the fan is attached directly to the water pump if your fan is off your gonna break it off the water pump then have to buy a whole new water pump and fan all together. but oher than that. Amazing car!!
woo go the E46 328!! mines the Ci tho coupes are way better! mines black with piani black trim and bourgandy leather upholstry! its sex! highly reccommend and its still the best looking bmw ever
is there a vid of the 318 rivals??? my dad had a 01 318ci mtech that car was so sexy... black leather with aluminium trim mmmm :D too bad he sold it ;(
Yeah, hes right. The 318 is garbage. I have to say that it is best to pony up and get a 328 or 330 if you're going to buy a BMW. Of course now days you can get yourself into a 135i pretty cheap and that things is very quick. Especially if you chip the 135i. I hear it then gets over 400hp and can take on an e9X M3.
yeah i heard. it costs me about $40 to fill my car's 18 gallon tank now, that would cost you 68 pounds. the funny thing is that people here still complain about fuel prices lol.
but i mean, if you can't afford the 328i, and can only afford to run the 318i, then why buy the 3 series at all? aren't you better off with a mondeo?
For a diesel, it's great indeed. You know, heavy cars (like the E46, but even the E36) are not really enjoyable anymore with a 4-pot petrol .. but a 4-pot diesel, is another world. Sure, 6-cylinder petrols are the best, but next to it, are 4-cylinder diesels. Try one, and you know. Make sure it's the 320d, and in case of E46, the facelift model.
he can't say freely that BMWs are great so he develops a litlle personal hate towards them ... but the adjectives he uses are often good ... unless the bimmer is a four pot ...
I just love it....power locks...power windows....power seats...red leather interior....smooth ride....
and one of the best things is that folks on the road that dont know think its a 318 and they challenge you....but then afterwards they get a big suprise....hahahaha well if your the type to step on it....
mine is the 2.8 ......what I meant to say was that sometimes people think that its the 1.8 because they look a like.....but under the hood its a differente story.....I mean i know its not an M but it can still move a bit....
This dude never ages. He is a vampire like Nick Cage.

@jonah805 im assuming the 1999 is the e46? personally i would go for that. but the 325 should be pretty cheap now and you can actually fool around with it more
axtray 1 year ago
@axtray My thoughts exactly! Thats why I can't decide. The 328i is faster, and safer. But also heavier. I have heard stories of the e46 lacking the e36's charcter. Plus the 325i is noticibly cheaper.
jonah805 1 year ago
@jonah805 the reason why i suggested the e46 is because im going to get 1 next year myself. and i like the styling of the e46 more than the e36. that's just me though. the image of the e46 with a nice 18 inch rim surpasses any that i can think of for the e36.
but as far as fun goes, you can get a 325, swap in a s50b32 euro m3 engine and you're off for some serious fun. and probably still be cheaper than the e46.

The F-4 Phantom NEVER had a gun. It used missiles and bombs. So I think he MIGHT want to use a different comparison there.

But now I replaced it for a E46 2005 M5 :D
MrMercules 1 year ago
@MrMercules E46 was not a 5 series. it was a 3 series.

@thefooj
Offcourse it 's a 3 series I made a horrible typo. I replaced it with an M3. ;-) not an M5. Maybe in time...

OCMElPolo 2 years ago 70
Hey Guys, just got a 323i 2000, has 97thousand miles. do you have some tips on parts that I need to replace when I hit 100thousand miles around 160km. Thanks
memonun 2 years ago
Well, you should get it on a lift and thoroughly check underneath. I had a tiny little leak from the differential/half-axles seal that I got fixed, changed my oil using Fuchs Titan GT1 5W40 (BMW approved, one oil change a year or 15K KM).
My airbox was busted and the filter dirty, so thrown it all away and plugged a K&N filter (3.3in) straight on the intake (I'll install a pipe next summer tho).
You don't have a lot to replace but check everything regularly to avoid big bills. Enjoy!

@OCMElPolo hey how is the reliability what have you had to replace or what will you have to replace in the future and how much will it cost i am really considering buying this car and i really need to know
AfricanSk8ter 1 year ago
@AfricanSk8ter well, mine was in decent shape but needed some attention. So far I replaced the rear shock absorbers (myself, and I'm not a handy person at all), got the drums fixed by my mechanic, and I have a wheel bearing to replace soon. I also put back the original intake. My check engine light goes off sometimes, nothing to worry about, just a faulty sensor. Before winter I'll change the fluids (brake, coolant, maybe tranny oil). Just maintain it properly, and you'll enjoy it for years!
OCMElPolo 1 year ago
@OCMElPolo how much was it ?
nutzw1 1 year ago
@OCMElPolo how is maintenance on it? I heard they can be frustrating to maintain the older ones especially the early e46s.
alexcheetah79 7 months ago
@alexcheetah79 The maintenance all depends on what goes wrong. break a sun visor you'll end up spendn $200 for a new one. but it holds up great i have a 99 328i fully equipped and its great on gas for a v6 about 24mpg, and only had one problem whch was water pump. stupid design is the fan is attached directly to the water pump if your fan is off your gonna break it off the water pump then have to buy a whole new water pump and fan all together. but oher than that. Amazing car!!

@James1112ism Thanks for the info, however BMWs don't have V6s, they have straight 6s. :)

I have an 02 318ci.
I poted for it instead of a 325 / 330 because it kept my insurance under 300 quid rather than almost double!
Unless you want to nail these cars then Id go for a 318ci everyime, its a 2 litre engine which is good enough for me.
Unless you want to

at 4:10 they accelerate the car but its nit in movement.....you can tell by the gas L/100 meter..
;)
witdak 2 years ago
Yeah, hes right. The 318 is garbage. I have to say that it is best to pony up and get a 328 or 330 if you're going to buy a BMW. Of course now days you can get yourself into a 135i pretty cheap and that things is very quick. Especially if you chip the 135i. I hear it then gets over 400hp and can take on an e9X M3.

i agree with clarkson, idk how you brits drive around in 320d's and 318i's. in america, the cheapest 3 series is the 328 with 230 horsepower.

Running cost are alot higher in U.K,
TheVtieg6 2 years ago
yeah i heard. it costs me about $40 to fill my car's 18 gallon tank now, that would cost you 68 pounds. the funny thing is that people here still complain about fuel prices lol.
but i mean, if you can't afford the 328i, and can only afford to run the 318i, then why buy the 3 series at all? aren't you better off with a mondeo?
coolerdude44 2 years ago
coolerdude44
Nope buy a 2 litre diesel and trust me its a great engine.
TheVtieg6 2 years ago
yeah, i'm going to germany and driving to london in a few months, i hope to rent the 320d while i'm there.
coolerdude44 2 years ago
For a diesel, it's great indeed. You know, heavy cars (like the E46, but even the E36) are not really enjoyable anymore with a 4-pot petrol .. but a 4-pot diesel, is another world. Sure, 6-cylinder petrols are the best, but next to it, are 4-cylinder diesels. Try one, and you know. Make sure it's the 320d, and in case of E46, the facelift model.
