heres the fix for this problem got to ebay and search wii dvd drive it cost like £20 or $30 but it takes like up to 25 days for delivery once you have recieved the item take appart the wii an fit the new drive easy as

the weird part is, it was working just last night

also, one of my games when it does work, stops spining at the title screen and shuts down

dude don't put a disc in when the wii is on its side thats why just straiten it up that happened to me when my wii fell over it made the whirring sound and ejected hope it helps :D

@clonemovie32 actually your wrong. ps2 models were made so u could do both. and turning it upright strained the laser. dont recommend that solution. xbox 360, ps3 and wii mess up because of this design in the hopes u have them upright. so they fuck up n u pay them for another one or to get them fixd.

@clonemovie32 yeah its a comparision because its the same exact issue. let alone w/ just about every other disc based console. has to do with either the laser or parts around the drive. which is easy as cleaning the inside. w q-tips, clorox wipes and compressed air (can). disc drives were built just like in computers to be on its side no upright. leaving ur console upright isn't good cause of gravity n forcing the motor, lens n all those parts to work harder. is y u hav that in the first place

Use USB loader GX, you then wont need any DVDs.

Maybe my Wii lents need cleaning, GC games work flawlessly. but Wii ones don't.. so i'm using USB Loader GX to play. it's even better for lazy guys, you don't have to stand up and change the disks anymore! XD

GX is simply the best; so it's the one i use. the only issue is that it doesn't support dual layer disks (yet)... but the sh!tty uloader does..

Haha, people keep fighting over systems when they don't own one of the two, I own a Wii, 360 and a PS3 and my favorite out of the three is the wii, I know im going to get trolled, but its true, online play sucks, but its got a nice wireless card so it isn't too laggy.

There's a fix for this here on youtube where when you open the wii a piece of rubber is off and you have to put it back on and it'll work just fine! =]

Can someone help me with my Wii? While I am playing a random wii/gamecube game, my Wii konks out all of a sudden, and the power light turns completely off. I try unplugging and plugging in the AC Adapter, from both the wii and the surge protector, and right when I press the eject button/power button, it turns right back off. Sometimes it works, but now, it just stayes completely off. DAMN IT. I FOLLOWED THE WII OPERATIONS MANUAL, AND IT DIDN'T WORK!

it didnt work for me!! i got the wii cleaner at gamestop , i followed all the directions it actually spun the disk once but then it said error please eject the disk and go to the wii operations manual for more help, or somthing like that. IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!!!

Actually, the fps didnt used to be like that, taken from a mobile at 15 fps but seems to have slowed down loads over time hah.

Anyways, the problem was fixed ages ago btw, it was a common problem with launch day wiis (one of the cogs jammed and the little teeth broke off, so became useless and wouldnt suck in discs correctly) and was fixed by a 3rd party company for free. You can send it into nintendo if you want but they will probably charge you for the repair, better to DIY.

there must be a part on the disc where the label has a bubble or something, a piece lifted or a little paper that avoids the wii from reading it, otherwise go directly to ask for another one with the waranty or call nintendo and ask them to repair it, it is not over 200 dollars

Make sure to tell them clearly for them to try and keep all your save data.

When I got my Wii repaired by Nintendo for a Disc Drive fault, they lost all my save data =(

I know; but you shouldn't have to do that; Nintendo should sort it out. Even so; online games like Smash Brothers Brawl, Mario Kart Wii and Guitar Hero all don't allow you to back up their saves on SD Card anyway.

Hey there, I think nintendo talked about this problem.... they proclaimed it was due to a "dirty lens" and that it will probably have trouble reading Smash Bros since it's a dual-layered disc. you can either open and try cleaning it on your own (provided your warranty has run it's course), or call and then mail it to nintendo instead so they'll clean it

My wii had the same problem. i fixed it though, check underneath the dvd reader, and there should be 2 wires, one that is white and one that is a piece of gold tape. THese are the dvd connectors and they control the dvd from ejecting. Check and make sure that they are connected properly, if they are, then you have a fuse problem or some other problem

I am having the same problem with my D2C Wii, Put in a disk, drive takes it, holds it for about 2 seconds without spinning, spits the disk out, then immediatly pulls it back in. then sits for another 2 seconds, then spits the disk out far enough to make it fall out of the drive. I would like to know what was causing the problem. Thanks!

Wow..litrely the same problem as me but i have a Wii Key aswell as D2B.

It took me hours to find the problem turns out one of the cogs to puts the disc inside the drive ready to spin has two teeth missing i presume the snapped of..ahh well i orderd a new drive so ill just take the cog from that and instert it into mine.
