  • Just amazing!!!

  • His generation was the personification of cool. A time when black men were accountable , responsible , and faithful. And then came the vietnam conflict and the civil rights movement. .

  • @tbursee sam cooke cooke got killed after being in a mix-up with a prostitute. I love Sam Cooke and he was an extraordinary genius but he was most definitely not faithful to his wife lol. doesn't matter to me either way

  • @eschulz1987 He was murdered by the mob. When men deal with prostitutes , mistresses, whores , etc, they usually take special precaution because they have a lot to loose. There is no way a Brian McKnight or Denzel would be caught up like that. There was no blood on the ground, every bone in his body was broken ( by a 60 year old lady?), and his Ferrari was still running with the top down. Thats not a crime scene , its a cover up.

  • if a 15 mile asteroid was 2:41 seconds away from smashing London I would not mind checking out to this

  • 'Inspired by the creator' - love it! So true

  • As Much as I LOVE Sam Cooke, I love Pat Benatar's version of this song much more.

  • Just listen to the the way he sings "So Long" at the beginning of this song. My, my, my. This is where soul music comes from- the "soul". Which is why artists like Sam can't be duplicated. You can't copy someone's "soul".;-)

  • put this on beemp3.com please

  • oldies for eva Rest N Paridise Sam Cooke

  • Thank you for all your videos. I've been searching for the not so well known songs and it seems like you've got them all. Sam's my favorite of all time. Then, now & forever... Mr. Sam Cooke. I hope they make a movie about his life & music like "Ray" Oh, boy I'd be there in a heartbeat!

  • Just when I thought I had heard all of Sam Cooke's songs...WHAM! I'm hit with another classic I never knew existed. Thanks so much.

  • @Democrat64 - I agree. I keep finding beautiful classics such as this. His beautiful sound is very missed.

  • @dukejah88 -- Yeah...you know, his life was one that was very short lived and his music career was even shorter. But he left us a plurality of classics to be enjoyed always. To some extent, his legacy (that is...his music) allows for him to continue in perpetuity as one of the, if not (the), best crooner to ever harmonized with a microphone.

  • @Democrat64 ABKCO, Allen Klein's company which owns Sam's punlishing, is currently making a film on Sam's life...just be careful, the info within the movie just might be skewed a bit...

  • Wow! sounds like I was in the room!

  • Such a beautiful man with a gorgeous voice.

  • excuse my ignorance folks,,,, im a huge soul fan,, otis,, sam,, solomon,, marvyn etc.. but who was around first?? ie.. releasing and porforming???

  • @kevynewman Good ?...Sam's gospel roots are pre 1950..with the QC's and The singing Children ( Agnos I miss U, LC, see you soon). He was def. pre Marvin, Solomon and Otis........Cooke

  • Hey right .... i need to discover ...or get somebody to release an non obvious sam cooke compilation of the stuff that never comes out..... like this one... like the great pretender....like the only girl in the world ...... please mobilise and help, or best of all a total sam cooke discography box set once and for all..........

  • he was cute. mm mm mm

  • Ooooooooh, When Sam Sings.....

his voice, the swagger in his voice, the smooth delivery (even if you can't see him) has the ability to pull you in and take you to a place in your mind that's sooooooo sweet and refreshing..........c'mon youtubers, men and women alike....i couldn't be the only sam fan that feels this way when sam sings!

i find it absolutely amazing that a "dead man" still got it!!! lol

  • I never heard this song before, I love it!!

  • Sam may be gone but he left so much wonderful music behind. I have never heard this one before. Thank you for posting!

  • @L8GR848 - Your welcome, its my pleasure to share such a talented beautiful soul such as Sam Cooke. I grew up as a child in the 60s and my Father was a devout Sam Cooke fan. My father played his music all the time, so i guess it became a part of the family legacy to share this beautiful music. My sons, now listen to Sams' beautiful music as well.

  • @dukejah you should check out Jeff Buckley, one of the more contemporary greats

  • @dukejah

We will get such good music never again. I love the songs

of Sam Cooke and the Righteous Brothers very much.

RIP Same Cooke and Bobby Hatfield.

  • @MrPaulfosterJR i feel ya I love artist who have that raw thing to em

  • Your page exhibits your love for Soul Music and we are enjoying it. We appreciate Sam Cooke and his legacy and the pathway he's paved for the singers we know today. Yes, let's enjoy that "party" that he so much wants us to do "together". He said it all at the Coppa. "Keep Havin' that party." I appreciate your message on Vel Omarr's video and it was a wonderful example. Sanedra

  • Sam's beautiful and God given voice is so wonderfully pleasant with each new song I have the opportunity I am blessed to hear. Sam said at "The Copa" he didn't want to go, and to keep "having that party". Let's celebrate his voice always and the classic soul he represents and not strangle those who sound simliar or those who pay tribute. Sam was a giver & taught many well-known singers with his blueprint. Let's celebrate Sam as Elvis' fans have their party for Elvis. God bless all Fans! Sanedra

  • Beautifully said.

I wish you all the best from Poland

  • This is the time for all of us to enjoy and appreciate talented singers of the past. And Sam Cooke was true to his art and sharing his love of beautiful songs, its the only testament we have of greatness. I love RnB singers, Rock, some Pop, some Country, but i love Soul singers.

  • Nice! Thanks for this.

  • Maannn... neva heard this one before. So strongly reminiscent of "You Send Me". Sam Cooke's vocals are unmatched and are so beautiful that the Heavens rejoice as if it were Lucifer playin Heaven's very essence with his pipes.

  • nobody can sing like Sam cooke the most beautiful singer of all time

  • I can Imagine Sam up in the heavenly realm singing his beautiful songs and sharing his love of the soul. I miss Sam Cooke and wish he were here with us.

The force of love is so pure through this brother and his beautiful voice.

  • any1 know what cd this is on? would love to get it for my uncle...

  • simply beautiful

  • Beautiful.

  • No other voice on earth can match it....The Unforgettable Sam Cooke.......Cooke

  • He was great, but Marvin Gaye was/is the greatest singer to date. Nobody has as much style or versatility as Marvin.

  • great song...never heard it before.
