  • Really? Fit a single stab? So you get popped faster?

  • in lowsec. no one is "not a threat"

  • I'm trying to fruck up the business of can flipping, therefore you mine the good stuff for yourself and jettison only regular cans with junk in them, such as 1 unit of Veldspar. You want rat flippers to open them to discover their shit. If enough people do this, can flippers can bet on flipping junk cans at some point. There really is only one solution: never jettison to feed the rats, but profits take more time.

  • Paid back can flippers: It Works! Continuously jettisoning 1 unit of Velspar to leave behind garbage cans (dang appropriate name) , while mining for your own full shipboard load of any ore, has proven to be a nice payback for can flipper rats as evidenced by chat channels, grapevine and personal observation.

  • @knurlykneed Rats can can-flip?

  • 240p so blurry

  • Work on your English please

  • @gurumaster342 His English is fine. Work on your manners, please.

  • You really can't determine whether someone in local is going to try to kill you by whether they have a 'red tag'. If you mine or rat in lowsec you are going to get popped eventually, and the asteroids aren't very much better. I guess there might be some advantage from the difficulty -10 pilots have in getting ships, so you might be able to charge more for your lowsec veld. That said, there are easier ways to make isk; check out my profile.

  • If anyone wants a 21 day trial to try this game out, PM me !

    21 days instead of 14 days !!

  • It really works. Can flippers can be confused: Continuously jettisoning 1 unit of Velspar to leave behind garbage cans (dang appropriate name) , while mining for your own full shipboard load of any ore, has proven to be a nice payback for can flipper rats as evidenced by the grape vine and personal observation and chat channels.

  • I prefer Hulk Mining with Only 2-Turrenct and Improved Claoking Device II You can build a better tank, and youo can warp to a preset safe zone and cloak and just go AFK until the system is clear again =-P

  • Errrr. They just warp up, put a scram, and you're toast. scrams have 2 points strengh, and warpstab give 1. >_>

  • Confused can flippers: It Works! Continuously jettisoning 1 unit of velspar to leave behind garbage cans (dang appropriate name) , while mining for your own full shipboard load, has proven to be a nice payback for can flipper rats as evidenced by chat channels, the grape vine and personal observation.

  • 7:35 what is says is complete crap. So called "pre-aligning" is a myth. If your ship doesn't move, then it doesn't matter which way you are pointing to. Pointing to a station or a gate or whatever is worth NOTHING if your ship is not moving.

That because ships are handled as vectors by the game. It will take you the same amount of time to warp.

You can of course point toward the gate and move at a slow speed : THAT will help (a bit). Of course moving and mining isn't very efficient ;)

  • @startide It does, however, prevent you from having to turn towards a celestial in that heavy mass boat. That turning also takes time.

  • @Punishthefalse If you are at 0m/s, then wherever your boat is pointing is completely irrelevant to your "align" and warp time. Dispite common belief "turning" doesn't take time in that case. Look for what-is-passive-align on skilltrainingcomplete point com ;)

  • I heard of a way of freaking up can flippers, that is, while mining jettison 1 unit of veldspar until you load up, leaving flippers to suck on veldspar. Is this true?

  • Pretty helpful and understandable! Thank you for sharing! You should do more tutorials...

  • One good advice: don't mine in low sec, it's not worth the risk.

  • I hope people realize that there is better stuff than veld to venture into 0.4 for lol.

  • @Rammsteincoolness Jaspet all the way! At least for me right now because I'm in a system that it's going for 530.50 ISK.

  • im training for a miner and this really helped thanks

add me on eve - tylerclinton

  • Great video, bad computer lol

  • dude I am in viziam se ya in corp chat!!!!!!!

    eve name reddy90311

  • After this, just repeat... Annnnd repeat. Heh - thanks. I am looking at all of the EVE tutorials so that I can play when I get the game.

  • 0:18 how to fit your shit

  • Cool vid ..but make it HD =)

  • get an hulk. it can blow up an ferox if you want :) look for evejnb on utube

  • great tutorial as you show the gear and describe things very well, but you said that in 0.4 space that the most an NPC will be is a cruiser, at some point I found a battleship NPC called a serpentis Baron in 0.4. though this video is fairly old now so the chances are things have been changed quite a bit, but a great tutorial none the less.

  • hey GREAT video.

your english is pretty damn good so that helps a lot.

  • ty rly helpful :)

  • Very useful, thank-you.

  • Thank you. This was very helpful. But omg, I hope you don't play with that lag though ;)

  • Hm, i noticed some mistakes. My reaction is not to criticise you, just to improve tutorial.

1 set your graphic on minimum, you will be able to react faster. I noticed that your computer is lagging, that delay can be crutial to survive.

2 When you warp to asteroid belt, ALWAYS mow away from warp point, dont aproach to nearest asteroid, go to the one that is far away from wrp point, and allso from warp scrambler if somebody warp in.

3 Last asteroid belt is not safest, pick it up random.

  • lmao @all the french comments. xDD

  • i would go with 2 stabilizers...most pirates are close range so will use a scrambler(it uses less cap than a disruptor also).....and shield hardner instead of that scanner........you make 2 overview settings......one with ships and other with asteroids(so you don't need scanner)....start the miner then switch to ships.....and you are fine

  • @paulmagnnum I would keep the scanner, nobody likes people popin rocks!

  • hahaa funny ;), french non threat, but need new pc ;)

  • "I see that this guy is french, so I suppose he's not a threat" lol Epic ;) (after checking bio)

  • in the selection overview, where tehre are several buttons (warp to, lock target, etc.) there is also a button: Align, for any objsect that needs to be warped to, the alignt button does not appear if the item is in thruster range, this also aligns the ship to said object (gate, station, safe-spot). maybe a bit easier and faster then your method :)

  • In terms of the overview just an improvement, you want to have to have 3 tabs low sec mining. 1st have the one he describes with only ships (this is the one you have active all the time). 2nd have one with your usual ABC rocks, in 0.4 you want to have up to jaspet asteroids selected use this just long enough to start mining. 3rd should be ONLY stations or stargates, this will be your "get out" overview that you would use if you get popped (not something you plan but it will happen one day).

  • If anyone want a 21 day trail (7 days longer than standard trail) send me a PM, got some left.

  • @Kaninerness if that offer is still going i would like one but i'm not willing to pay if its free then defo :D

  • do not double click to align.... click the object and select approach or hit "ALIGN TO" also use 2 warp stabs if you are going to use any at all.

if you are mining veldspar, what is the point in going to low security systems?

  • holy lag dude, how do you play in such lag like that...

  • It has nothing to do with the fact that he is recording...

  • @serialslicendice the game dosnt realy lag much at all

  • otherwise, high sec ores honestly are more valuable unless you are mining arkanor, bistot and crokite. The risk is too great to mine the standard low sec ores, besides the fact they are less valuable.

Oh and I forgot, fit ECM bursts and Launch ECM drones (vespas) so if you do get warped in on, send them out to your potential agressor and warp out. Abaondon your ECM drones. The ECM burst is only if you get screwed, but your agressor gets too close to you. You have a chance to break lock and run.

  • @scotmcpherson

Just mine veldspar refine it and you soon hit the 20 Mil ISK in an hour or so :)

  • This is not the safe way to mine in low sec. You have touched on some important factors, but there are others. 1) Don't mine at belts, mine at Grav Sites 2) you need 2x WStabs 3) use low friction nozzle rigs instead of istabs. 4) if local is empty you are safe, if local has people in it, constantly check directional scanner for probes. 5) when you see probes, warp out and dock up or go to another grav site in another system. 6) grav sites have the only worthwhile minerals to mine in low sec.

  • So much lag

  • nice toturial and nice lags^^

  • This was extremely helpful for a new miner like myself. Thank you very much.

  • If you're staying still there's no reason to point your ship. Align time will be the same whether you're stationary and facing away or stationary and facing.

  • not if you align to...if your aligned, your already aligned and don't need to do so again when you want to warp out. Yes, itl take time to align, but thats why you do it as part of getting set up, so your already done when you need to get the hell out of dodge.

  • This was very helpful man, thanks alot :)

  • Wow, the UI has changes ALOT!

  • Nice tutorial. Thinking about playing EVE, but not really sure how new player friendly it really is.

LOL @ French guy not a threat.

  • its not new player friendly....theres no learning curve, its a learning mountain.

i loled @ french not being a threat either

  • Лаги Жесть!!!!!!

  • Inertia Stabilizer? lol that makes your scann resistant lower than all other take Nanofiber membrane. better to move quickly away...

and to be honest when i fly through lowsec to catch up some guys i always take 1 jammer and 2 warp disruptor... + neutralizer and your gone so you NEVER can go safe mining in lowsec.

and btw.: the high ore are only in 0.0 or wormholes and you need more than 1 of your barge there

    safe ways o/

  • Nanofiber structure sry. and aStasis webifier...

didnt remember the right words and needed to check what it was lol^^

  • You should mine in Chamune mate, I used to be in an alliance there and they can't secure that system, they let anyone in.

  • LOL french guy isnt a threaT, OMG MADE ME LAUGH HARD. anyway cool vid im thinking if i should pick up eve or not, the pvp seems too passive, but i havent really played it yet so i cant tell. do you get used to pvp being not very active, like im just used to fps, so not sure how different it will feel. might get the free trial from steam :D

  • Trial is free anyway. Don't use steam. Steam sucks.

  • why do so many people mine veldspar?

  • @paczard have you ever tried to build a cap ship? you need tons of trit for the components, and veldspar is the best way to get it

  • but do u even get any money from it cause im trying to get a caracal and im 1.4mil of and need some quick money

  • @paczard most used?

  • Very clear and useful

    thanks

  • Useful vid. Thanks.

  • A: this is lowsec not zerosec. so no warp bubbles.

B: it's all cheap tech1 stuff so if he gets blown up it's not that bad economically.

Though i would not go to low sec to mine veldspar...

  • Ah, this guy's french, so he's not a threat...

    LOL!

  • lol

  • not all low sec its really active. personally the area im in has maybe 5 people at once. most 50 a day pass in total on avearge

  • They would completely demolish you with all of those crappy drones.

  • Nice vid, but it will never happen. There's no way in hell you're going to get a barge through a low-sec gate camp.

  • Holy crap... that's some horrible frame rate.

  • I flew along side of these guys at one point in time, the Alliance that they currently are in: is the one the corp I belong to made. They kicked us out, because they didn't like our 'pro-pirate' out look. :P

  • Also,

"Ok, this guys French so I suppose he's not a threat."

    LOL

  • Can you own anymore then 1 ship in this game? I want to know if you can own multiple ships.

  • i think you can. but ive never played.

  • You can own as many ships as you can afford. No limit.

  • @Redlightning7 You can own more than 1 ship but you can only fly one at a time on each account. If you want to, you can keep so many rifters in your hangar that you could expend them like a Kestrel expending missiles.

  • Thank you for doing this video. It is great information. You do an excellent job not only explaining what to do but why to do it. Thumbs up!

  • "okay this guy's french so...i suppose he's not a threat" haha. classic.

  • yeah lol!

  • I think your english is fine, and you can slowly work on the accent.

    Great tutorial, thanks.

  • Mike you the one whos "dumb" if you believe you garbage laptop for 1k can play Eve without having any problems in high population systems. Or large scale battles. Its not gonna happen. What are you some kind of laptop fanboy? Did you just spend 1k on a laptop that has 512kb of Ram and a Raedon 9800 Pro video card? LOL

  • Really good vid, but you need to work on your english, and just general tone settings. With your experience, you could do a tutorial that people would want to post on sites. That is, if you work on your english.

  • Not good enough. Laptops are never as good as the Desktop PC. Yes you can get a hot Laptop, but it will cost WAY more than an = power Desktop. For gaming the Desktop rules all other platforms in terms of performance.

  • Ya if your using a laptop to play PC games you may as well just go out and buy a Xbox or Sony. Desktop PC the only way to go for bad ass comp games.

  • some laptops are pretty good

  • There are plenty of laptop gaming rigs for under 1k, don't be dumb.

  • I think the lag is because of him recording it (fraps?). However, to play ANY game these days you better have one helluva laptop :)

  • i have a really old computer and i use proformace option, and it works perfectly hasnt crashed since i bought it, unlike L4D xD

  • People shouldn't try using laptops for gaming lol, Desktop machines should be used.

  • no offense, but i really hope its not that laggy for me on my laptop... i havent finished downloading yet and have been learnin what i can bout the game in mean time

But that was a very good tutorial, i now know what minings all about!

  • the ''alignment' trick is pro.

  • "This guy is french, so I suppose he's not a threat." AHAHAA

  • lol, nice one

  • @mk2389 lol that was the best part of this video 6:34

  • Helpfull for what ?

Mining in low sec is NOT more profitable then higher security.

The most basic ore in the game, brings the most isk in eve.

Tritanium used to be just under 1 isk a piece, now it sits at 4 times as much.

  • Wasn't the recent rise in Tritanium isk due to all the destruction during the massive Delve war earlier this year? Apparently everyone is rebuilding stuff, hence the need for Tritanium. Prices may fall back to their original levels eventually.

  • Thanks for this, very helpful!

  • im downloading this now im wondering can i join?and how do i start mining

    plz reply ty

  • i would do some things differend. usually i take a rifter for roid scanner and with mwd to find a place off the belt warp landing point. that will asure me that i will reach the roids (keeping in mind that a covetor/hulk) is not the fastest ship available and that i have some extra time to warp out if needed.

  • Nice tutorial.

  • Everytime you fit a warp stab a kitten dies! =) yarrr!

  • As a new miner, I found this very helpful!

    Thanks!

  • No Problem, btw, my co-ceo is not French, he's Romanian...0_0

  • @smh5137 quick question which ship is better for low sec mining, cause i go to .4 sec system and its very slow with my b.crusier setup

  • @DudesInternetEmpire Save and train up for a Hulk. While these ships are slow, you can fit them with a pretty decent tank, not to mention either a two full complements of light drones or a full set of mediums. I usually go with 3 med's and 4 lights. And if you go with a mining gang you can fit the hulk to really increase your mining per cycle or max laod. Very fun ship to mine with, i own 3, each set up for different needs.

  • @smh5137 as a pirate, I found this very entertaining.

  • @smh5137 I heard of a way of freaking up can flippers, that is, while mining jettison 1 unit of veldspar until you load up, leaving flippers to suck on veldspar. Is this true?

  • This guys french so he's not a threat lol

  • some times its the middle belt which is the least populated

  • Its important to note that the red/orange minus signs are not automatic and have to be set manually.

Based on an analysis of their bio, sec standing, corporate description, heavily influenced by intuition.

Also you should never warp to zero to a belt. Personally my favorite warp to distance is 70km... although for a belt 70 would probably be to far.

  • Explanation: the comment "this guy is french" was not very relevant and was just made for fun. Furthermore the place in which we were mining was NRDS area (Not Red Don't shoot it) and all of the known pirates would normally appear as red on the local channel, granted your diplo has updated standings...

Anyway, every now and then a neutral pops in and starts shooting you, and that would suck normally, but in a NRDSI area he would become red after that and get chased by the PVPers of the area...

  • These advices were made especially for 1st Steps Academy's members, and was not expected to be seen so much by the general public. The edit I would like to make to this video is the fact that in a NBSI area (not blue, shoot it) you would never mine in system with anyone that doesn't have a blue [+] aside his name. Anyway, I do hope this video helped some, I am sure the PVPers would generally consider it lame due to the fact that NRDSI is not a policy practised anywhere except inthe CVA area

  • Actually he's romanian....and he was our ceo at one time.... :)

  • this may be a little simple but those little tips can save your motherfucking day....

  • Actually that french guy was a treat.... As Swift as the DeathReaper.

    Ahah goddamn you english moron.

  • "This guy is french, I suppose he's not a threat."

    I lol'd, HARD

  • :DD laughed so hard when he said that

  • nice dude, Good tutorial.

  • that was actually a good video thanks! I am getting into the game so any help i get is helpful.

  • This is mediocre advice at best tbh, as an experienced pirate, this guy would be easy pickings.

  • as an experienced Head Hunter, you guy would be easy pickings.

  • Why mine low-sec?

  • Heres some advice for the video maker: dont use the audio you record while making the video. By all means, read your script thru the video but then delete the audio track. Record yourself reading the script so you have a clean narration. Then insert this clean audio narration in the video.

Your narration has alot of pauses, hesitation and other audio aberrations. Dubbing in a clean narration would make this aLOT better!

Keep it up! Make more vids!

  • i thought my comp was bad it cant even download the game but his seems 20 years old

  • You do not help my cause your making stupid ppl a little sarter like that french guy you were talking about. also there are solo pirates that dont have a player corp

  • Whats the point of mining vedspar in low sec if its the cheapest ore, besides, every high sec system's belts have vedspar asteroids...

  • this is a tutorial..it does not make a difference what he mines during the tutorial.

  • Dark Tornado

    look them up in game,

    im friends with the CEO

  • You need a computer upgrade by 2 yeasr ago!

  • omg he needs a new comp.

  • rofl, "this guys french, so hes not a threat"

  • YEAH THAT SHIT IS FUNNY

  • how do you sell stuff?

  • Go to the station, there is refinery, you remake minings and you have goods :-P

  • to say it in short:

    - keep an eye on local

    - always align with station/gate

    - drones are handy but wont help ya in 0.0 as bs don't even feel a tickle.

    - T2 scanners FTW

  • Heh. Nice tutorial. However, as a pirate, I can point out several things wrong with that.

First, it does not matter how far the belts are from the sun. We use scanners on clusters of belts to get your location.

Second, warp core stabs will not save you if there is more than 1 pirate, or if he is using a (heavy) dictor, which are popular :)

Also, there are rare faction spawns in 0.4

Anyway, anyone who listens to this and actually mines in lowsec.. Good luck :)

  • This isn't complete!

How will you mine?? Jetcan mining and then haul or just fill up your cargo and warp to a station?

Also, before anything else, you should go scout the belts and make mining bookmarks, so that you don't have to position yourself anymore with your slow mining ship.

And just a little remark: mining in low sec isn't profitable. It only has a very small benefit/risk ratio. Mining in 0.0 however makes the big money.

  • I see your point, but in high sec, there tends to be a lot more miners, and im not sure if its a coincidence, but ive not seen an asteroid in highsec with more than 30k in it, where as the one he just mined had 90, meaning there is a lot more to be made. Especially in high peak times, it could be useful, if you ignore the fact Dexirock is more likely to come and kick your ass.

  • Theres plenty of high sec roid belts with high quality roids..just gotta do some looking around.

  • good tutorial...but why wuold you go to low sec to mine veldspar? What type of other profitable ore is located in low sec. Thanks in advance

  • Yes, but Gemodi is Domain low sec, and Curatores Veritatis Alliance watches over it on a Not Red Don't Shoot It policy. They have a KOS list, and whoever is red to them is red to the resident corporations operating in the area (1st Steps Academy as well, if standings are up to date)

This tutorial was made especially for the members of this corporation that are supposed to know that.

  • *Awesome tutorial! Very helpful, thanks :-)

Oh, and the guy's bio said:

"Silent but effective as the mower"

    -corrected-

  • Awesome tutorial! Very helpful, thanks :-)

Oh, and the guy's local said:

"Silent but effective as the mower"

  • hey man good tutorial, yeah about the lag just put premium quality off thats what i do, it doesnt really ruin your game just makes it look a little worse.

  • "This guy's French so I suppose he's not a threat" Heh...

  • Awesome tutorial, thanks!

  • As i sidenote warp stabs DO NOT prevent disruptors, people can still fit 2 disruptors and LOCK YOU DOWN

  • anyone fitting two disrupters is wasting a whole slot and is probably a retard

  • First of all...EVERYTHING in a local channel, that is not "blue" should be considered as a pirate, as a threat. Security status or nationality doesn't really matters...

Agreed, everything in local in low sec should be considered hostile unless it is blue to your corp, or you know them personally. Saying because they are X Nationality so therefore they aren't hostile, is a good way to cost you a ship.

  • and make enemies

  • First of all...EVERYTHING in a local channel, that is not "blue" should be considered as a pirate, as a threat. Security status or nationality doesn't really matters...

Second - warping to a first or last belt is a really bad idea...pirate will probably look for you there first.

  • agreed always go for a random in between belt
