  • Hi, I recently tried to update to lion from the mac app store. However when i went to it I clicked Buy and it said that i needed to have 2gb of storage so i cleaned 4gbs and it did not work i currently have 96.26 GB of storage but it still wont let me download. What should I do?

  • Hey man, have you ever seen a 'failure to connect to app store' error?

it say's 'your account or device cannot be verified'

I just can't seem to get around this.

    Cheers

  • @mac4thewin Finally someone who does Hackintosh the real way. Tell these people how bad Hackintosh is compared to a real Mac. Nice name btw

  • @NonaSoumy Last time I checked, Macs are not $5000. And yes, there is a big difference. A REAL Mac has superior performance and is virtually big free. A Hackintosh is illegal and will crash in a matter of months. It also takes a while to hack it. While Hackintosh may be a fun project, it is not up to par with Apple's machines.

  • @PowerSpartanl99 nice saying mate mac 4 the win, the only hackintosh ive done is on a netbook the rest of my computers are macs =D and i used the restore disc from a macbook pro so i didnt use an illegal copy

  • Hackintosh is fo' noobs. Go buy a real Mac.

  • @PowerSpartanl99 My PC cost 2700€, if it has been a mac I would have buy it for 5000€.

As you can see, there is a huge difference.

  • Where can I get it for free?

Can you send me link please.

  • It is free?

  • MY RIGHT EAR

  • @sumit4373 Yep!

  • HAHA

    APPLE + SAMSUNG = #@!

  • i installed on new partition and and everything is good updated all kexts and patched video card. and even when i updated to 10.7.2 the same had issues with flash-player and YouTube fixed it but now when playing movies on vlc i get sound and no image?

  • @restrepoj123 probably a software bug of some kind, if the other video player's work, then it's a software bug!

  • if i install this, will it erase my files and apps in my previous OS?

  • @carolinebernardo34 If you mean snow leopard then no.

  • @tino730 thanks :)

  • if i purchased os x lion from App store, can i install on several computers

    please replay

    thx

  • @asanali7771 Yep, I wondered about this, but it shows that it's been bought after install, so yep. It's the same as buying a disc, it's exactly the same, there's no differences!

  • why is the voice only on right ? :S

  • i wont boot into the mac osx lion after finishing the installation .....it stucks on apple boot screen >>>>>plz help

  • @radhebabu27 Maybe one of your kext's, is unsupported, find a way to delete files and delete the kext. You can see the problem in verbose mode. -V at bootloader. Type it in and boot install! It should say the problem.

  • works but can't downloading from the mac appstore did someone know a fix i get a verifying error. and can i update to 10.7.1 ???

  • @mrl385 You can update to 10.7.1 and maybe you have wrong card details or something!

  • hi nice guide mate.

    one question:

i installed snow leopard following tony macs guide. i removed 4 gigs of ram for the installation process,i've finished installing so can i add it? does it cause any problems?

  • @mscockatiel1 Yea u can re add it there wont b any probs

  • @mscockatiel1 hey my mac wont let me partiton the hard drive wat do u thnk is the problema

  • @acharlescasas i,m sorry i didn't partition it i installed mac on the whole hard drive. so i dont know?

  • @acharlescasas Maybe, you should check if the partition options is set to GUID Partition Table in the installation! It's probably that!

  • @Farhanx6 is it the white SATA ports?, i've heard from lifehacker that it's not supported.

  • hi installed succesfully then when there is the apple logo it just stucked there loading left it for 10 minutes then turned off pc :( what happened?

  • @DarrenMalla KERNEL Panic, Probably unsupported kext in lion, find out what kext is bad by booting with -v, find a way to delete the kext, delete the kext. DONE!

  • @tino730 I found another solution..I created another partition and installed lion on it! worked succesfully

  • IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO FIX FACETIME (REGISTRATION ERROR) PLEASE REPLY. ILL BE VERY GRATEFUL. ALREADY TRIED A NUMBER OF THINGS LIKE RESOTRING HOST FILES ETC.

Got a P8P67 DELUXE WITH MAC OSX LION FULLY WORKING BUT NO FACETIME.

  • every time i double click the lion installer, it say that this version of osx can't be installed on my machine. I am using a dmg image taken from torrents. Any advice? Thx

  • @mkoo33 Are you using 10.6.8, Update then try.

  • @tino730

o figured it out. boot loader was not the right one.

however lion has more problems and lacking a lot of kext and stuff for my machine to work. So i went back to 10.6.8

    THx anyway.

  • Can I get this on my t4500 Dual core? I know people have core duo's on lion in DP1

  • is it that easy?

  • @ramseycosay Yep, it's so simple, but not as simple as to install snow leopard!

  • do you have the step guide to install the 10.6.8 update on a Radeon 5750 & Intel core i5 pc?

  • @eldaguinio try tonymac blog just google it

  • after following your instruction carefully, i created installer partition, executed xmove succesfully but at reboot it appeared that NTLDR was missing.

    Do you have any suggestion?

    Thanks, Rein

  • Can the new partition created for the Lion installer be removed?

  • @calvinpn yea if u want

  • @ajlloyd0000 Gigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3 and a 6670

  • @Lickmytech okay I am building a new pc and I have a 1TB HDD. out of that approximately 600GB will go to Windows and I want the rest of the approx. 400GB left to go with Snow Leopard/Lion. How would I set up an easy to use multiboot system? Thank you

  • @TheWhooshBottle It's on tony's site!

  • @tino730 ive researched a bit and all most options say that i need to reinstall my whole windows 7 os because i need to install mac os x lion first, is that right? and I have a ASUS P8Z68-V motherboard which has an UEFI BIOS. Does that make things more complicated for me?

  • hey I was able to make it boot but i cant move my mouse or nothing do u have any idea what it is

  • @mtzjr probs need to reinstall ur usb kexts via multibeast. try and get a ps2 mouse

  • Hey man... Great video... Just downloading Mac OS Snow Leopard 10.6.6 and downloaded Mac OS Lion... I will follow your tutorial. Hope it will work.

Theres one thing I need help with so I will PM you. It's about drivers.

Subscribed, Liked and thanks for tut.

  • something happened to my installation, it was a legit download, everything was nice n cool, mail app had to upgrade, from that moment i had 9gb free on my macbook, while watching youtube, a pop up appeared saying i have less than 1 gb of free space, went down to 2,2 mb!!! i erased 500 mb and went back down to 6.6 mb!! wtf is going on, do no install it in my opinion, i took off my email from mail app still only recoreved 2 gb so dunno wtf is going on, it stabalized to 5 gb but going down agen

  • hey just wondering, if i have photoshop, iworks, and word that i have downloaded (not purchased) would OSX LION make those applications unusable after installation? and also wondering can i get rid of the partition afterwards? and or use a 8GB usb or a harddrive with stuff already on it but with 12 GB space?

  • @Epyeon Yea pirate software will still work the same and yes you can get rid of the partition later but i have left mine just cause then its real easy if i need to reinstall lion if i screw anything up and idk about usb hard drive havent tried

  • I have a clean install of Lion on my Hackintosh and my MacBook late 2009. Once you have the DMG file located in the instillation files of Lion burn that to a DVD... Boot your Mac off the DVD and install. For your Hackintosh install Lion onto an external USB or Firewire hard drive on your original Mac, install all bootloader etc onto the external HD install then boot off of SL DVD on Hackintosh plug the hard drive in and chose to restore your main HD with the external HD DONE. :) x

  • cheers mate

  • this would be a terrible tutorial if your right speaker didn't work

  • @TheTechnoToast Yea moral of the story is don't record audio with a dslr

  • @Lickmytech haha :-)

  • I went to the install promp. in the iTunes section. Clicked buy. The screen states INSTALLING, but there is no indicator showing the program is installing. Am I to wait until. ..........

  • I have a question. The other day, my brother installed the new Mac OS X 10.7 Lion on my MacBook, and my Windows Partition doesn't boot anymore...Do you think there's a way I can get it back? I'm not sure if it's completely gone...But I had a lot of videos and other important stuff that was on there...It says "disk0s4" and it's not mounted...

  • @siryssdakingofficial mount it and reboot

  • @KTechish Hi thanks

I'm not sure the best way to do hackintosh is to use tonymacs guide. that way you get retail software that will update easily via software update just like a real mac.

  • Thnx bro this is nice. I will first upgrade my full system then Install Mac Lion...

  • is osx lion free or do you have to pay

  • @moeslim3 you have to pay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Once you do that separate partition for the install of Lion files, just keep it there if your hard drive is very large in space... Keeping it there is a good way of re-installing Lion in case of something happening wrong in the futures and you don't need to re-install Snow Leopard and then Lion... saves time... Keeping those install files there gives you the benefit of installing a clean fresh version of Lion as well...

  • you said 1:00 it takes ~2mins to install Lion but mine took 40 mins. This is before xmove.

  • Hey when i did this is installed fine but when i booted (using i boot) it crashed when i clicked on the partition whyy??

  • When you run Lion Mac App Store.App and click install then you reboot how does it boot to snow again and don't proceed the installing process??! I'm very concerned about this step

  • @aatkco What Lion does on the first install is that it prepares your hard drive for installation (thinking your computer is a real mac) so when the next time you reboot its ready to install the full version. On macs what you do once you reboot and the apple chime sounds, click command + R keys and this will take you to the Recovery Mode menu in which you will select the install partition (that's if you are attempting to do a clean fresh installation of Lion only).

  • If you just click on the App store Lion in Snow Leopard and proceed to install, all it will do in the first step is install the setup files on the same HDD to prepare for full installation on next boot. Thats why it only takes about 3 to 5 minutes. The real installation takes about 20 to 30 minutes. You do not need to install any setup files if ur doing a clean installation, u use xMove for that with the extraction of the Lion dmg. file withing the Lion App.

  • Where's the "Any"-key? Can't find it on my keyboard!

  • This sucks!!! I have a mac and I want the lion but I don't have snow leopard and it says i have no more space on my parition =......[ someone HELP ME!!!!

  • Hello, I thought it was going all well, but after it had install os x Lion, it then wouldnt boot in to lion, I get a kernel panic, OS X said it was a Mac Pro 3,1 and a core duo. processor.

  • Bit of information for you mate, when you download Install Mac OS X.app from the App Store, if you open its directory and go to Contents/SharedSupport you will find the InstallESD.dmg file in that directory, burn that to a standard DVD and you can create a Lion DVD.

Thought it might be useful should you decided to do a full tutorial or something like what LifeHacker or JohnnyTheGeek1 does. :)

  • THANKS WORKED GREAT! HAD TO DO IT TWICE.. Dunno why.. GOOD LAD. Lad points.

  • Quick And Dirty Ay? ;)

  • @Pjcomputers aye (:

  • Your password is A

  • @Ingosibbason Yes it is

  • Will this work with AMD?

  • @Goldent42 if you already have SL installed

  • @Lickmytech

hey i have a hackintosh with i7 1366 3.06ghz with sl but my question is will lion roar on my hackintosh

  • @autotune360 Possibly, if you overclock up to 3.1 GHZ!

  • i have a problem my friend. Yes i have snow lepoard got it when it came out, Yes i have done all the software updates. BUT it goes you need atleast 2GB memory WTF?

  • @ocen89 hi

lion has higher requirments to run then SL you need at least 2gb of ram. you will need to get more ram

  • @Lickmytech How do i do that? external hardrive?

  • After rebooting into the installer partition, it goes into the grey background image of lion but the installer doesn't show up?

  • @NeonboiiZ try leaviing it for about 20 mins if it doesn't work format the installer partition nd start again

  • i dont understand why you creat a partition disk for what??

  • @Cesarcb1 to copy the installer files from the lion disk image and inject the bootloader nd someother stuff into it so it will install on the hackintosh

  • can i install this on a external drive? thanks!

  • @rockerman212 you could try it. I haven't tried but nothing bad should happen

  • Thank you very much. Do you if any wifi pci card works with lion like airport card? I've seen a video about fixing network card in snow leopard using modified atheros kext. Do you know something about that?

  • @jameszambie Hi

any card that works with SL should work with lion however after hunting for a good wifi card for my build i decided just to get powerlines and use a wired connection. Most wifi cards i found that worked were wireless B or G which is slow

  • i need to use MultiBeast right after the Lion Update before booting the PC, if not it will rewrite some files and i can't boot anymore, Anyone can help me, is there a trick that i can use MultiBeast right after the Lion Update?

  • @MysterioEffect have u got the newest multibeast from tonymac? i used it right after as well to rollback my sound kextand it worked a treat. i couldn't boot first time so i left it bought 20 mins then held the power button til it turned of then rebooted and left it about 20 mins and it then booted fine, also make sure u are rebuilding cache and repairing permissions after using it

  • Thanks A lot mate, I got Lion working perfectly on my Asus G60vx laptop :D

  • if i don't purchase the lion app from the mac app store and I download it via torrent is it gonna work?

  • @jameszambie yeah if you download the right one not a delveloper release

  • @jameszambie yes, it will work, I downloaded mine from a torrent and Im typing this right now from Lion

  • Thanks man. This worked perfect on my Intel D975XBX mainboard with a Core2Quad. I have SL 10.6.8 and followed your instructions except instead of making a second partition on my HD, I formatted a USB drive and told xMove to install on that drive. I booted my USB drive and installed over my SL install and everything works. Amazing.

  • i tried to install leopard several times but failed but i am downloading NOTHER DISTRO AND I WILL TRY Again .

  • ahh shit... when u said there would be lion on top of my hackint0sh i didn't really think there would BE a lion on top of my hackint0sh... damn the animal control bill was fierce

  • Comment removed

  • hey i have problem. i followed the tonymac guide first and nothing helped me there so then i came to your video in hopes you can help me with somthing. when i'm at the chameleon/chimera bootloader and i select the installer partition, once it comes up my mouse doesnt work. do you have any ideas on what the problem could be? i tried redoing everything 2 more times but it still doesnt work.

  • @dalynthesk8r try plugging in another mouse. a usb wired one. If you are using a bluetooth mouse chances are the drivers haven't loaded right in the installer. my magic trackpad wouldn't work during the installation either

  • @Lickmytech I dont have another mouse what i meant was the trackpad on my laptop isnt working

  • @dalynthesk8r Hi there, your best bet would be to head down to your local electronics retailer and buy a cheap ass usb mouse. the kexts for your trackpad most likely havn't been loaded in the installer. if you can even borrow a usb mouse for the installer and then when you get it installed your trackpad will work fine

  • @Lickmytech thats what i was thinking scince my friends computer has a usb mouse, but my mom wont let me go anywhere this weekend lol so im screwed until i see him. im only a kid haha

  • @dalynthesk8r lol yea once u have a usb mouse u shud b good to go. tell me how it all goes (;

  • it needs a apple id at the end's install?

  • @codebraker12 does it? just enter one then they aren't hard to make

  • @codebraker12 so make one

  • this video is very right in my ears

  • xmove keeps giving me an error telling me the installation has failed.

any solutions ? i followed every step CAREFULLY.

    now what ?

  • @terminusverus are you 100% certain you are selecting your installer partition for the intsall location in xmove. Also are you sure you have installed all the lion files to your existing snow leopard drive

  • @terminusverus i kept getting the error but what you have to do is open the ORIGINAL LION .DMG that you got from the app store and then run xmove it should work fine then

  • @terminusverus Mount the install media whether it is a disk or disk image (dmg file) and then run xMove, I had same problem. By the instructions you shouldn't have to but it worked in my case.

  • Were you recording underwater? That was horrible.

  • @rzucco I used the D3100 built im mic its ment to be a quick and dirty guide If i had of got my snowball out and had to sync up the audio it wouldn't be the first on youtube. All my other videos have better audio this was just made as quickly as possible.

  • Instead of partitioning your hard drive for the installer, can you use a usb stick instead?

  • @wleitz13 No you must partition it. It copies certain files over that needs to be on the same physical hard drive. however you can delete the installer partition at the end if you want but i kept mine because its way faster if i need to reinstall lion

  • my ears.....
