nod these computers looked positively menacing in a row in a classroom, one of the most retro looking but least attractive computers ever made in my opinion, you felt you were on moonbase alpha set or space 1999, just they were so quickly succeeded that they just gathered dust.
I remember programming basic on that very computer at Tigard High School in Oregon. You know, prime numbers, calculating PI, and playing with the fun graphic capabilities (peek and poke). That was back in 1978.
I have the original tape for the invaders game, it's called Space Intruders. This game is mostly written in assembly code. Actually it has two lines of BASIC code: one with a special character which clears the screen when you try to LIST it, and the other which performs a system call to the code itself. Pretty neat graphics for that computer. The Pacman game however is quite poor, and definitely looks like slow basic code. An assembly version would have run much faster. But hey, this was 1980 !

I played this game so much as a child that the space key broke in half, flying across the room followed closely by its spring :)
