@mustainerulesxx he has great confidence his. even when hes kicking poor he doesnt let that affect his open play. O'gara has great experience and has a great kick when looking for touch. Sexton tackles better and unleashs the back line better. Sexton diifantly can be as good as o'gara. he good 7/7 against figi and they were hard kicks. he also won the kicked all the points against SA

Fair balls to Sexton here. I wouldn't say he's way better than O'Gara though, that's a bit of a silly thing to say considering all that O'Gara has done for Ireland. Good player though, we'll really know what he's made of in a year or so.

This was when he had no fear. Now he looks nervous and very average when kicking. People took O'Gara for granted but he is still Ireland's best number 10 and Sexton will never be as good, unless he can carve out a career in the centre.

Francois Steyn isn't as good. You can kick further in the high atmosphere of South Africa or in the southern hemisphere. To kick drop goals from halfway in Scotland where there isn't as high a pressure is pretty good!

Pretoria joburg and bloem are at high altitude. NOT THE WHOLE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE. The northern hemisphere and the rest of south Africa as well as nz and aus are all at sea level so it makes no difference at all! Francois steyn easily slots over 60m drop goals and 62m penalties in nz AT SEA LEVEL!

I think he definitely needs to get more than one match in the autumn internationals. I think he could handle it as he has confidence in abundance. ROG is too big of a liability in defense and seems very one dimentional. Brilliant kicker but Ireland will need more than that if they are to challenge the Boks Aussies etc. I also think that the Aussies will be far better than everyone thinks. No walk in the park by any stretch of the imagination.

From a Neutral point of view(Connacht Fan) Sexton is definitely next in line for the Irish 10 shirt. He shouldn't be thrown straight in but slowly blooded and gradually take over for ROG. But there is no denying that Sexton has Outclassed ROG the last two times they've met. Sexton is basically an O'Gara clone who can tackle and gets his backline going a lot more. ROG is just too much of liability in defense these days for International rugby and every team knows it. That's why we lost the Lions.

No doubt he is next in line for the 10 shirt but I dont think he will be the first choice kicker for a good while yet. Sexton coming into the international team might spark O'Gara to be more consistant. Been along time since anyone challenged his place in the team.Sexton is a good player but I'm not sure he can control a game as well as O'Gara can when he's on form. A few six nations caps and a place on the next world cup squad would set him nicely on the road though

I'm a leinster fan myself but I dont think he's as good as o'gara yet. He will be but a few good performances cant just land him ahead of someone like o'gara. He has never played international rugby at the top level. And declan kidney isnt standing in his way. If he was good enough to start for ireland he'd be starting for ireland

i think if rog doesent get rattled so easly and gets tackleing he has a chance of been irish 10 but right now i think we should blood johney for rwc 2011 but o gara sometimes is brilliant but is a wild card he realy has off days almost cost us agenst england but drop goal agenst wales and is airish hero
