yeah, standard E actually works very weell for death metal of all sorts,specifically melodic death metal. mors principium est uses standard E a lot and cry of the blackbirds by amon amarth is in standard E.

I really don't like the normal death metal stuff, I'm far more into thrash, but you played some extremely awesome riffs here :)

And thumbs up for using standard tuning, I don't get why everybody is tuning their guitars far and far more down to sound more "brutal", everything under drop D sounds just completely ridicules to me.

All of the best riffs by e.g. Slayer, Metallica, or Megadeth, are written in standard. If you play brutal it sounds brutal, there is no need to tune down.

Great playing, your control and precision is astounding! Although I too appreciate really technical guitar playing, I think that this might be a bit too technical and fast to contain vocals as well. With such fast and powerful drumming and guitars, you need a very, very clean production for vocals to fit well in my opinion. Otherwise, really great, loved it!

@Hellzerker Are you implying that E standard can't sound heavy? Of course it can, it's a matter of hard picking, a heavy riff and a good metal tone. Personally, I believe I'd prefer something like D or C# standard tuning which I am using at the moment, but E standard can definitely sound just fine for heavy riffs in my opinion, even for Death Metal style heavy slams, it will be fine with the right tone and playing style!

How does the X3 works for you, it sounds great indeed, but I've heard that it doesn't have harmonizer and thats one effect I use frequently. Also, how would you describe the reverbs, delays and PC recording experience with your X3. Thanks, nice riffs.

@Aristowi Hey since alexander doesnt reply i thought it would be nice to help a fellow guitarist. Pod x3 live is definetely the best of the pod series, the first thing i noticed when i playing it is it sound alot more like a real amp than the other pods, and for recording its easy as pie u just plug the USB into your computer and there you go. I also like the delay and reverb alot because u got so many different to choose from. if u want to hear some recording check out my chanel.
