  • ya... pretty and all but not very practical... most of the time is spent spinning around

  • Wow, pretty good. but still, too many unnessasary movements. good for practices and excersize, but trust it, actual combat is completely different. its best to take skills frum a large variety of styles and forge your own style. Thats the best, if you perform properly and effectively.

  • really? and you've seen this "martial" art in action around the wartime eras when they were used and developed?

  • listen boy, by the time this guy flips his sword around like a retard, ittl be on the other side of the feild in a real fight. so quit it cuz i don't think u know what your talking about.

  • Amazing! That is the skill of an artist! No matter whether it is effective or not. if you want to win, you have to do it before the fight and not try to be effective.

  • Really Talented but noway you can use them in battle.......GOD I WISH GUNS WERE NEVER MADE AND SWORDS AND KNIVES EXISTED.....that would be MUCH better

  • Swords and Knives do exist...

  • dude i mean war and batles were stil with blades and swords... i know they exist -.-

  • the 1st set is known as a Kan Dao/Cutting Knife

The 2nd set appears to be a miao Doa but a Katana is used. 2 handed Miao and Sword can be similar depending on the style.

The 3rd set looks like a 2 handed straight sword done in the Mantis System.

The 4th set appears to be San Sai Jin. The comment about swords not clashing is a myth.

do some weapon sparring (not partner routines) and you'll see really quickly.

  • iv made my own style

  • im impressed old man that you can dance the sword with so much ease but it lacks. i dont mean to give you the poisend water here but altho impressive your sword styles are to open. much of a fancy thing to show at a play then in a fight. but promps anyways. i was impressed.

  • i never understood why they make those wierd noises when they swing their swords

  • its hard not to

  • correct me if i'm wrong but f gims (two edged straight swords) you should never clash them? also, while I understand stances do not have to be perfect, they should at least be recongizable? As well as the first sword.. is it wushu? I thought I heard soem crackling in while he wirled/flowred. I'm not trying ot be disrespectful, I'm jsut wodnering.

  • The crackingling sound you hear is something on his pants, left pocket. Could be a keychain, or something. Dunno.

The rest of the questions I'll be keep quiet about, not my place to judge a master d00d. Though clanging two swords together is 'disadvised', it's not like a law or whatever.

  • Thanks for the pants thing.. i was thinking that hte sword didnt look wush and the sound didn't happened again after that sword and it didn't make sense that oen sword was wushu while the others were not. As for teh sword clashing, for gims, I thought that it'd break the gim so even though it's not a "law" it isn't done because you could easily parry the blow by pushing it aside with the flat of the blade.... still, thanks for the answers.

  • These styles don't seem very battle effective, except maybe the first and last one. Not sure about the fourth.

  • in a real fight all that flashy stuff u get u very far...

  • i love swords i may self know how to use swords and more as well i have lorned all this by my self but i got a blue belt so that helps some

  • I think he means to point out that it's not romantic, though I do think it's nice that you two share a fine interesting and hope he wasn't being mean. The more you share with your beloved, the better you two can be closer together.

  • Practically no root whatsoever of which to speak. As my wife so eloquently pointed out as we watched, more Wushu than anything else.

Jack of all trades, master of none.

  • you and your wife watch sword videos together?

    isn't that nice.

  • Being as she takes an active role in martial arts and has a genuine interest in it, indeed we do watch martial arts videos together. I'm not sure your tone - is that supposed to sound dirty or funny somehow?

  • stop playing yourself lol

i don't know what kind style you learned..

but it seems like you created your own style lol

  • that's the best kind, no one knows what you're doing, so it's unpredictable.

  • um iam probably wrong but inman hevely sword stance it's a lot difrnet becuse the bace of it come from the feet also its done much slower and at times depending on what from of attck your doing

  • seems a bit slow

  • were have i seen this befor..... oh flashy soulcailbur but, not bad

  • honestly not that good...there were some mistakes in the beginning, low speed and lots of movement....didn't really fit

  • and his jian form is why shaolin should just stick to the dao, lol leave the jian to the lama's and the wudang styles

  • None of those were much good but the constant bashing of the 2 jians together in the san cai jian 2 man set shows zero understanding of jian technique.

  • well i didnt look as hard as this person did thought i do know wut (s)he is talking about i thought it was good though

  • on tornado tiger: his pulm flowers weren't very good, and there was hardly a pause on the begining movement's guard. also he only has two visible stances, and he hops around alot.. not bad. good ref. what's his degree?
