  • one of the best bands ever.............

  • Looks like she's lead a "hard" life.

    I wonder what she's like today 2012?

I wonder if she thinks about Dusty?

  • Too bad there's no videos of RT at Grossman's in the early 70's. They were really something. Carole had a Rod Stewart cut then.

  • carol pope est dégulasse a laire d`une folle!!!esti qu`est laide sa pas de sence....

  • Canada's Grace Slick - only better.

  • Happy Canada Day Caroleeee!

  • That weird shuffle she does at 2:18 made me laugh out loud. Totally 80s move - do that in the club these days and you'll get laughed out.

    Nice bounce action though.

  • Carole Pope sat in front of me at the David Bowie concert in 1983.

  • This was always a very cool band (more conceptual than coincidental that it had its innuendo and sexual leanings), with some great players going through its ranks. Too bad they didn't get a good crack (pardon the pun) at Europe, as hey would have found a ready-made audience to drive their ambition.

  • 25 years ago.... I was right up on the rail in front of the stage to the left of Carol!

Great show... Saw her here, Massey Hall, Ex Bandshell and the final "Deep Six in 86" concert in Toronto... Good Times.

  • hey Carole, nice gopher noses ;-)

  • I just think that there is NOTHING that Carole Pope can do wrong!!! She is absolutely fucking amazing!!!!! I LOVE that beautiful lesbian!!

  • They sound great, guitar intro was just perfect :)

  • I was there...In High Park (Toronto) summer of '85 for the free concert by Carole Pope and Rough Trade...What a band...She has one of the most unique voices in the business...Keep on Rockin' Ms. Pope...You never go out of style

  • Tony Springer on guitar?

  • Written and performed when music was real.

  • Wonder what Carole is up to these days......she was good

  • totally unique!!! love carol

  • totally unique! love you carol!

  • Just discovered Rough Trade thanks to the Trailer Park Boys Movie. Awesome band and the singer is really amazing.

  • Man, I had such a thing for that Woman back then...she was freaky!

  • @parkman35 are you a man or a woman? lol

  • Nice to see a singer who can sing live and not just lipsink to a over produced studio CD.

    Carol,s cool.

  • High Park in T.O. right?

  • I miss the 70s and 80s. It's all Carole, and she doesn't need Sh*tney Spears-type theatrics to distract the audience because she can actually SING. BTW, love how she slaps her own hand after getting too touch-feely with her own boobs LOL.

  • Wow, the sound quality is really good! This live version is better than the studio one. So much catchier.

  • I was at that show...fantastic show!!! It's too wild seeing it again. Love Rough Trade!

  • WOW! I like this version. Thanks for posting.

  • True, howayee.

IMO, I mean that this sounds better than

    the studio version.

  • I like this live version better than the

    studio version.

  • Well yes... live tends to be lot of fun!

  • it hit me like a, hit me like a, hit me like a slap....whoah oh ohl....all touch....great rhythmic lyrics

  • Carole is so foxy at this concert. She still looks fab!

  • I was thirteen, and my parents most likely wouldn't have let me go. And also the disparaging comments my Dad had made

    about Carol. Hehe!

  • I was thirteen in the summer of '85, and living near the military base in Downsview, Ontario.

    I wish I could have attended. : (

Great live version by Carol, Kevan and the

    rest of RT.

  • You could have, it was a free concert in High Park.

  • the best,love her...come back

  • this is great, she rocks:)

  • Best version Ive ever heard....Tony Springer is in his own world over on lead....sounds great!

  • lol @ 3:09 she grabs her boobies and then realizes what she is doing and that its a family affair concert and slaps her hands!!

  • This is one of my favourite songs. :)

  • Wild T!

  • That's him alright!

He helped to ROCK it up a little.

  • This is my ultimate Rough Trade song, but this live cut is excellent!!!!!!!

  • I think she keeps herself busy between Canada and the US.

  • Where is Carol now, and what is she doing?

  • the good old days

    love carole and kevin

    they rocked my world

  • Thank you for posting this video!!!!

  • Great stuff - I remember seeing her in a small club in Ottawa (can't remember the name of the place, but it was beside Molly Maguire's on Rideau - just a parking lot now...) back about 1978? or thereabouts....

  • Was it The Black Swan.. I saw RT there in the 70's.

  • Nothing but love

  • In the 80's i don't think Rough Trade had the largest fan base, but seeing what female performers have become, they just don't have any attitude. Thats why i think this Rough Trade's hits would work today just as much as it did back then.

  • You wouldn't believe it. 3 am in the morning this song just came back to me and I couldnt wait to see if it had been posted. I watched the recorded film clip version first and then saw this live recording. This is much better than the taped version. She could really sing. Her grabbing her boobs is a bonus really. Surprised that there haven't been more views. Thanks for posting it.

  • i had to laugh when youtube asked me to relog with the pass word kanukla, Carol pope was banned in the USA when my son was just a todler, Now how facist can that be when we had her on AM FM and still vinyl, God Bless you Carol, you gave to us more then you may never know,

  • Probably Dagmar.

Great to see live Rough Trade in its original form!!

  • Actually, the original band had the great Terry Wilkins and Bucky Berger bass\drum combination that preceded this line-up...

    and David McMorrow played keyboards.

  • Where was this?

  • If I remember correctly, it was in High Park Toronto CANADA.
