  • This picture is NOT the Limeliters, though it is them singing. This picture should not be used with their name, I don't know who they are but the picture is NOT the Limeliters.

  • My all time favorite Coke Jingle!

  • One of the best sounding Coke commercials.

  • The jingle was sung by the original Limeliters, a trio, not a quartet, in 1961.

Lou Gottlieb and Glenn Yarbrough left the group and Alex Hasilev formed this quartet in the picture using the same name. Guess he is the shrewd one to have obtained the rights to the Limeliters name. You can tell he is the oldest guy in this picture.

  • I don't recognize Hassilev in the picture. The guy on the far right looks like it could be Yarborough. Otherwise, I agree that this isn't the Limeliters in the photograph, though it's definitely them singing the "Coca Cola" jingle.

  • See the past quartets at Hof chorus. (It won't let me post a URL.)

  • It's the Limelighters (picture), but not them singing.

  • Why won't my comment post?!?!?

  • The Limelighters were among the first quartets that developed a full, rich blend of impeccable quality. They were an extremely popular quartet for many years, and were crowned Johnny Appleseed District champions in 1974. Its members were: Baritone - Darryl Flinn, Lead - Dave Schmidt, Bass - Dick Middaugh, and Tenor - Tom Remark. All were members of the Canton Chapter.

  • what happened to the commercial that ran w/ the jingle? it was on several months ago, a full minute where Glenn does voice over along w/ the song

  • Yes, it is the Limeliter's voices, but not the photo. I was looking to see my Dad and got a little confused.

  • Loved your dad - I am an old Limeliters fan -

have their RECORDS - tell him I say HI

  • Thank you for saying so! I will pass the message along. All the best! Stephany

  • my apologies for making this video with a wrong picture

i'll try to make a new one with the right one

  • No problem, it's cool the time period. If you can make one though, that would be great. Thanks, Stephany

  • I loved them, too. Got to see them in a reunion concert in Phoenix back in the early '70s. Addis & Crofut, Mike Settle, and I think Lou Gottlieb's daughter were in the back-up band and The Limeliters gave each of them solo time. What a great combination of talents The Limeliters had! And there has never been a tenor so clear and pure as your father's...distinctive. Funny thing, I do remember him gently refusing a request to sing a McKuen song as they were so "old". :)

  • I don't know who the guys are in the picture, but that definitely was Glennie's voice doing the lead singing, and probably Lou and Alex on the harmonies.

  • having mistaken the image do u think that i have to take it down or let it as it is with my apologies? cheers mate & thanks for commenting

  • No, leave it up, it adds to the feeling of the era. Maybe somebody will be able to identify the guys in the bad tuxedos. Thanks for posting it.

  • This sounds like classic Limeliters' music to me. It's fun to hear the Limeliters and other famous singers do product adverising.

  • Whoever they are, they aren't the ones singing the Coke commercial. No Glenn Yarborough, no Alex Hasilev, no Lou Gottlieb.

  • Who are the guys in the picture? They don't look familiar to me.
