Captain Fantastic is one of Elton John's best concept albums. It tells the story of Elton and Bernie Taupin's struggle to become musicians, largely told from the writer's point of view, with Elton as the music writer and Bernie as the lyricist. I have two vinyl pressings of this album as well; one bought by my mom in the 1970's. The cover artwork, based on a painting from one of London's galleries (the name of the artist escapes me), is very intriguing as well!
shut the lid man!i have one of those denons and i cant get it to work without skating across the record.i have all the weights for the rear, but i dont knoe how to set them.i hope thats the extent of my problem.help! have an awesome weekend
If you have this model or one similar, go to "Vinyl Engine" and set youself up an account. There's no cost. From there, go to their library and download the PDF file for the Owners manual for your Model. it will tell how to set up. My guess is your tracking force or anti skating adjustment is set wrong. Also, make sure table is level and you have a quality cartridge and needle. it sounds like possible the tip is worn or broken off. I've had not even 1 skip since I got mine 3 yrs. ago
Hi. They are Koss 1020 floor speakers manufactured in 1978. They are a 3 way system with dual ports. Each on has a spec. weight of 60lbs with real wood enclosures. They sound a heck of a lot better than what my cheap camera picks up. Check out my other video "vintage audio..." for pictiures of these. Thanks for your comment.
I yearn for the days when you'd walk into an electronics store and see aisles of cquality stereo components, not like today where the most popular electronics are disposable and fit in your pocket.
great video, thanks

And your speakers were made in a time where the Koss name actually meant something.

Absolutely right. They don't make them like this anymore. Thanks for your comment

That's for sure, and it's kind of sad that they don't make them like that today.

For me, it's not so much about components that are small and fit in your pocket.
My gripe are with components that are so lightweight that pushing a button can cause the whole component to slide in the rack!

Elton John is brilliant and that Denon is gorgeous. LoL @ the ME First LP in the background. Good Stuff.

Even though I like the quiet creativeness of Elton doesn't mean I don't like to rock out to the Gimme Gimmes. Rock on!!
