  • why people say this clip is Tim Burtonish? i mean, i can tell why but burton has a way more cartoonish style than this one.

  • a little creepy but i like it

  • i find this story more interesting than the rest of the film

  • Did you notice this relates to Voldemort, Snape and Harry

    Voldemort died for power

Snape died for love (Lily Potter)

Harry welcomed death with open arms

  • This is Awesome!

  • oh and before starting useless arguments, i advise you all to read the book; it has everything explained in it, including a realization that the third brother was probably harry's ancestor. cheers! x

  • this always makes me cry for some reason. very, very beautiful animation!

  • Tim Burton anyone?

  • This story has a lot of similarities with a tale told by Geoffrey Chaucer in the Canterbury Tales, can't help but think JK 'borrowed' some ideas from there. Brilliant though, she makes the story her own. And the animation was fantastic! :)

  • @Milmino you are right JK Rowling in a 2007 interview said it bears similarities to the Pardoner's Tale

  • i think we need a great song which goes with that movie... i dunno how about creature feature the greatest show unearthed?

  • Is it just me, or does this animation kinda remind me think of Tim Burton's stuff?

  • Voldemort: Died from power

    Snape: Died in grief.

    H. Potter: Greeted death as a friend.

  • quality animated story one of the main highlights in the film ;)

  • Awesome animation! Those movements.

And then: Awesome idea turning the tale of the three brothers from Harry Potter 7 (talking of the book, not the freakin movie I'll never watch) into an animation.

  • @BirdGproductions Lol... you retarded hipster.. this IS from the movie...

Hate it when people bash on things they haven't even seen ... please delete your Interwebz now...

  • Nice animation

  • I loved the animation of this story :D

  • My favorite story

  • exactly how i visioned it in the book!!!

  • I loved that it's read by Hermione/Emma Watson this was my favorite beedle the bard tale.

  • thumbs up if u dont see the dislike bar, and i m gonna do a deathly hollows tattoo :P

  • this is awesome.i likes the third brother

  • The monumental awaits thee above

  • @xXichibanBaller Thou seeketh soul power, does thou not?

  • Seekest*

  • @Asparagoose Are you correcting me? What a strange coincidence every game page and every forum says "Seeketh". For example:

    destructoid [DOT] com/thou-seeketh-soul-power-dost-thou-not-then-touch-the-demon-inside-me-152360.phtml

  • @AngelusExitium Ah. My mistake, sorry! I think it should be seekest, though. Grammatically speaking.

  • harry potter, isn't it? yeap, great

  • The eldest brother asked for a wand more powerful than any in existence

The second brother asked for a wand more powerful than any in existence

The youngest brother asked for a wand more powerful than any in existence

    GG youngest always wins

  • 26 Peoples Drown in a lake. o.O

  • I thought that sounded like emma watson. Which harry potter is this?

  • @PlayerN00b Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and this is Emma reading :P

  • yea, it was one of my favourite scenes in d movie.

  • Best part of the movie. :D

  • Animation what are british!

  • super super super animation and story

  • this scene feels like something tim burton would cook up.

  • @DSBastards I think you're missing the whole point. It's supposed to be Voldermort, Snape and Harry. James isn't really that important compared to his wife and son

  • pure awesomeness !

  • anyone ever think maybe this has nothing to do with harry potter? :P

  • @FreddysBitch666 What do you mean?

  • @TheMinims i mean, theirs like 100 different arguments on here about which brother is which character from harry potter, i dont think anything to do with harry potter, this video is to amazing to be about harry fucking potter xD

  • I LOVE this scene, so well-made, whoever did this animation.

  • damn i love this story!!! it's like mythology!!!

  • @DSBastards James didn't greet death like an old friend :/ Harry is closer to Snape's age than voldermort

  • @AnahSkywalker We're also living in a wizard world.....i mean how old is Dumbledore?? Their parents could have easily lived long enough to have Voldemort, then later have James and Snape....the only reason Harry's parents died so young was because they were killed. In fact, how often in the series did you ever hear of anybody dying of old age? They usually died by murder.

  • @Melina2134 More like James' ancestor

  • The third brother... Could it have been Jame's father?

  • @Melina2134 The last brother is an ancestor of Harry's, which is how he ended up with his invisibility cloak.

  • I loved all of the movies...but this was my favorite part out of all of them I'd have to say. It has such meaning and it gave me goosbumps!

  • Wow, I had no idea this was Harry Potter related; I thought this was a stand alone short film. Still, this is cool.

  • that awkward moment when you haven't finished the series yet.

    ...erm... spoiler alert?

  • I thought it was obvious that Harry was the son....which would make James the brother who greeted death as an old friend...and since Snape, Voldemort, and James are also clearly around the same age, wouldnt it make more sense that they would be the brothers... i mean, was it ever even said that they didnt all three have the same father or mother?

  • @DSBastards Snapes parents were nuts! His mom was weak and his father was an abusive bastard so I don't think so.

  • @CrimesonWitcher key word: bastard....who's to stop that SOB from going out making as many babies as he wants... Snape and James were good, because of how they were raised, which maybe they werent raised by their "real" parents, and Voldemort was abandoned, which led to his lack of care for other people and he became consumed by his greed

  • @DSBastards Voldemort, Snape and James weren't the same age. Only James and Snape were. Voldemort was born in 1926. Snape and James were born in 1960.

Inform yourself before you post something. Something stupid, nonetheless.

  • he he he... wave their wands

  • I think that Dumbledore can be considered the second brother.. He used the stone to bring back to life someone he loved and he died because of that

  • what a wonderful film

  • My greatest compliments to the animators of this scene! Wasn't expecting it in the movie and it was a pleasant surprise! :D

  • @Doncroft1 there's even more symbolism than you might think. Voldemort died in search of power (first brother). Snape died repaying the debt to Harry of the lost love if Lily (second brother). And Harry greeted death as an old friend, and went to him gladly

  • Scariest part of Harry Potter by far. I think they recruited Tim Burton's help for this part

  • SO much symbolism in this. J. K. Rowling is brilliant. For instance, the first two brothers received items fashioned from things found in the river that was supposed to be their death (killing them), while the third brother received a piece of Death's own cloak, thereby being his equal: not defeating him, but matching him.

  • @Doncroft1 Yes, that is exactly what she just said. Not sure how spelling out the plot is symbolic.

  • I actually love how this animation was drawn..

  • @emoney9309 James Potter couldn't be the youngest brother because he didn't go with death. He got murdered and James brother didnt have the elder wand ( if he did have a brother ) it would have been ancestors that handed it down to generations below.

  • Best story. I love hearing it especially with Emma Watson's voice

  • This is the best part of the whole film :)

  • i love Emma Watson's voice

  • I actually liked this, although i was looking for a movie :)

  • my favourite story

  • Now i know why so many people says that the Deathly Hallows are useless: Because they didnt understand the meaning of the story.

  • loved thiz thought it said tale of three brothels tho

  • Excellent animation! Nice job.

  • @bigcity1974 the person who owns this channel didn't do the animation, it's taken directly from the film

  • I loved this animation, the style is so awesome :D

  • this is such a good quality

    thanks soo much for uploading

  • that awkward moment when harry, snape, and voldemort are brothers ...

  • @SuperCheesehater more like JAMES snape and voldemort

  • brilliant, and hypnotic. and a very very clever short story. bringing loved ones back from the dead only to find they don't belong in the mortal world...elegiac..this is a superb animation.

  • Wonderful...

  • Beautiful animation. Nicely told as well, Emma Watson has a great voice for storytelling. It sounds very soothing, could listen to it all day long.

  • reminds me of fable.

  • This animation alone could win best animation for an award.

@MrThumbsup you are very clever in finding that out. Good work my man (claps)

By the way, this is coming from a Star Wars fan. Death kind of resembles General Grievous from Episode III from my perspective.

  • someone knows who are the creators? it's simply amaizing

  • Beautiful Animation

  • cant stop watching!

  • The younger Brother was smart to do that rather than the older ones

  • Great story!

  • was that sperm in 2:05?

  • @pulbasauri it was his blood 0.o

  • @pulbasauri Have you ever seen sperm splash out from a persons throat? It was blood you dumbass...

  • I cant beleive people compare this masterpiece to the bullshit that is Twilight

  • Nice.

  • I wonder who was behind this part of the Harry potter series.

  • ugh dont have HD in the title if the video quality is not HD FUCK!

  • Tale of the Three Brothers

    Voldemort died for power

    Snape died for love

Harry greeted death with open arms.

  • This was good I like this one.

  • @AlekDreamer it's called "The Tales of Beetle the Bard" it's also by J. K. Rowling

  • voldemort- died for power.

snape- died for someone dead they loved

harry- greeted death like an old friend.

voldemort, snape, and harry represent the 3 brothers. mind= blown

  • Am I right in saying the noise used when slitting the guys throat was used in Fruit Ninja?

  • I have the book with this ^^ this is one of the less creepy stories=_='

  • @10pandasrule10 What's the name of the book? This sounds like the kind of stuff I might be interrested at reading.

  • How many time she says death

  • who else will now have nightmares because of death's figure? I'm not gonna sleep well in the night now..T.T

  • Quem curte? Eu gosti!

  • 9gag army is coming!

  • I absolutely admire this animation style....There needs to be like, a series, any series, with this animation style...

  • Snape- Died for love

    Voldemort- Died for power

Harry potter- greeted death as a old friend

  • @Connansvideos 9 gag?

  • Snape- The one who died for love

Voldemort- The one who died for power

Harry Potter- The one who greeted death as a old friend

  • @Connansvideos Not really, James Potter would be the one who went with death as an old friend, considering he gave his cloak to Harry just like the youngest brother did.

Also, interpreting Harry as the youngest brother would mean that Harry killed the oldest, who killed the middle brother. C'mon now just because it sounds like a great connection doesn't mean it is.

  • @emoney9309 now you are interpreting too much. Just because Harry killed Voldemort and Voldemort killed Snape, that doesn't mean that they can't be compared with the three brothers. Do you think, that it is just a lucky coincidence that Voldemort died for infinite power, Snape for his lost love and that Harry greeted death (although he wasn't dead for long)?

  • @battlevamp How do you explain the fact that the youngest brother gives his cloak to his son, and THEN greeted death? Harry never actually stays dead like the youngest brother. The youngest brother goes with death and stays with death. Harry "dies" and then comes back to life. He cheated death again! First as a baby and now as an 18 year old. Also, He also doesn't have a son to give his cloak to at that point...

  • @emoney9309 OR! The comparison isn't even refering to Harry's "death" in the Forbidden Forest. Perhaps it can be compared to the natural death he had decades later.

  • @Connansvideos indeed!!! very well said!!

  • That's one very good tale! It's amazing how Rowling brings back things from past books and only after a considerable time, give them such an important role. The cloak of invisibility was given to Harry on the 1st book, but it only became important to the story as a whole on the last of the 7 books.

  • Omg such a sexy voice

  • Wow that is awesome.

  • wow good story very good

  • I love how the Death's cloak moves... Like it's under water or something. Really beautiful...

Oh, and Harry Potter rules. Just wanted to mention it :)

  • Voldemort: Died for power

    Snape: Died for love

Harry: Greeted death with open arms

  • @rhiannafreebairn i agree, and i think severus had the "best" death. Dying for love is really, really the best thing you can do when you have to die. My opinion :)

  • I'm just a lil sad that the way the movies Tale isn't worded the exact same as the Real Tale, it messed me up as I mouthed it in thearters.

  • this has got 2 b THE BEAST Harry Potter secne of all time!!!!!! that & when Hermione punched Mouthvod RIGHT IN THE NOSE!!!!! MAN THAT WAS A GREAT SECNE! XD

  • The pardoner's tale =)

  • The third brother seems such like a troll...

  • This was actually pretty great.

  • Without a doubt one of the greatest animations ever.

  • great since it came from the harry potter movie :D

  • Really hope in a few years time WB animates the other 4 tales in Beedle the Bard by the same company and Emma to narrate them! I'd love that and I think many other Rowling fans would too. Would love to see the Fountain of Fair Fortune like this!

  • The three Brothers symbolize Voldemort, Snape, and Harry, respectively. Voldemort was a skilled wizard who desired more power, and died for power. Snape was a prideful man who died for lost love. Finally, Harry went to Death ready and as an equal.

  • @MrThumbsup And Harry is a good match too because he has and invisibilty cloak!

  • @MrThumbsup You mean James, not Harry.

  • @MrThumbsup thanks captain obvious

  • @xarghenisx You're welcome, Captain Smartass.

  • stunning...simply stunning.

  • "they found the path was blocked bye a hooded figger" oh how i love her voice XD

  • The art and the animation reminded me of Coraline, and the story Harry potter two movies I love very much

  • this story is also told in Harry Potter the last volume

  • @OanaTheMeerkat You don't say?

  • HD my ass.

  • red it the first time in on of the harry potter books

  • @Masterpiece55555 read not red

  • nice story

  • I wish I could get Emma Watson to just read to me or something lol.

  • Emma' voice is awesome <3

  • Hmm.. the version she reads and the one in the copy I got today is different in some places XD But still, it's nice to hear her tell the story while reading along =P

  • Yes indeed, this was a very good story and a good lesson. To not be so greedy and be wise with your choises, is very important or other wise it could mean your death.....

  • This was the best part of the movie. The rest was crap.

  • @TheHollowMidnight your comment is funny XD or at least to me it is ^^

  • @NemiChan1

I'm sorry but I really feel that way. xD

  • I love this ;D It's awesome... Thank you J.K. Rowling ;D

  • HD, my ass...

  • This story. It gave me chills...

  • The animation makes this story complete :) Love the story, so wonderful and full of knowledge :

  • Favorite part of the movie. Not a fan of Yates.

  • Oh and Emma's voice is perfect for it:)

  • i LOVE this story :D

  • This is amazing!. I'm always speechless after I watch it:)

  • @audrejj119 I dont get it, its better than twilight but how is it a love story aside from the father giving his son the cloak , and the 2nd brother killing himself to join his love

  • i remember reading this story in school lybrary it is a verry interesting story

  • HOW THEY KNOW THAT THE DEAD WAS LIKE THAT.

  • I was waiting for this part...

Harry: Death had an Invisibility cloak?

Ron: Well, you know, sometimes Death got tired of running at people, flapping his arms, and screaming... sorry, Hermione.

  • oh my gosh this story is beautiful! it has a moral as well, and that makes it even better<3

  • i like it ^,^

  • I LOVE this sequence...

  • This part was done so well.

  • What a wonderful way to tell this story.... mesmerizing.

  • This gives me chills...

  • Did Tim Burton make this or what?! 8D
