  • At least you won't stab yourself with it XD My Key weighs about 60 pounds!

  • So do you understand and speak fluently?

  • This is the only video I've watched of yours but I am confused why you think it's a strange question to ask an American who is living in Japan, why she's there. Are you there for work? Did you just wake up one day and say I'm moving to Japan, and there you were?!

Because I'm also curious how you ended up there? And how you came to the decision to move somewhere where you don't speak the language. I suppose it happens more often then we may think, but I would like to know your story. Who do you

  • @nijiahmonay I suppose the simple answer to your question is I find it frustrating that that question must be the first one people think to ask. I studied the language for four years at university, so it follows that I'd move here. No more, no less.

Basically, of all the things people could want to know about me, the least important is the one everyone asks. ;o) That's why I find it strange.

  • Wow, what's with the snappy answers?

  • So I'm just wondering. Why are you in japan? Is it to travel or for a certain time? Btw I enjoy watching your videos. I was going to head out there myself and wanted to see someone else doing it.

  • @teekytaky Sorry, not sure what you mean. To travel or for a certain time? I live here...

That's always a tough question to answer, because if someone asked why an American lives in the US there really isn't an answer either. Basically, I'm saying there's no particular reason. ;o)

  • @86maxima Pleasant, aren't we.

  • i really like your videos, um if you don't mind my asking, so you live in japan? did you move there after you where done school, and i was also wondering if it was hard. i hope im not bothering you with these question. thank you

  • @quasmort Thanks.

...if what was hard? Coming to Japan? Wonder why people keep asking that...it's kind of a strange question.

  • Aw, that's so cool you went to Japan. I'm half Japanese and only get to visit Japan during the summer. Anyway, love the video. If you get the chance, I'd love for you'd check out my channel. :3

  • Bet all the native asian boys stare at ya.

  • @Utsusemi Hmmm, I guess that's a compliment, so thanks! But no, not in Tokyo when there are so many peacocked Japanese girls here. They look amazing...I'm just that weird foreign girl with /huge/ eyes, LoL.

  • =-[ take me to japan plz

  • been there, its too damn expensive, i did the maths, i would be broke in 2 years!

and i earn enough to buy a small business by myself!

  • Then it wasn't the proper math, because I've been here a year and a half and I'm hardly broke, nor am I approaching it.

  • Lol, I liked Japan because I could just go out side and I would see a drink machine :D

  • Yeah it's usually true but I never really use machines. The ground floor of my apartment building is a 99 shop though.

  • WOOOOW!! At one of the hostels we stayed at, it had a Diaso ( 100 yen store) :D

  • When I was in Japan, I carried Milk tea around everywhere too :D But.... it tasted really bad when it was warm..............

  • I haven't had milk tea in a week or so, haha. Guess I'm not as addicted as I originally thought.

  • About that pizza ad ... 生ハム ... Does that mean "raw ham"? ? ?

  • Fresh ham.

  • It sends you to a website, which is quite helpful. :o)

  • I should also mention that I've been to Japan before. Some of the strange comments I'm getting from people (none that are visible here so far, just some private messages and such) lead me to believe some people think I haven't. I wouldn't move to another country before studying there or at least visiting first. I studied in Japan in 2005, albeit a different region than I'm in now. ^_~

  • oh, and FYI: usually all keitai HAVE english menus..you just need to locate where to change the language on the phone (probably somewhere in settings, etc.)

  • Yes, from AU and I hear it's a newer model, though not the latest batch.

That is actually false. Not *all* have English. Like you said, usually, but that's not even entirely true... In fact, here is where I should mention I do have a degree in Japanese and can read and speak it. And I specifically discussed this with them because I was hoping for an English manual. I liked the phone enough that I didn't really care when it had neither.

  • heyy, did you get your phone from au(kddi)? That phone looks familiar..it has the e-ink panel thingy on the front right? where you can change the design, etc.?

  • The uploader has fuck-all to do with video-syncing!

    Learn2encode.

  • Generally, I agree. But I suspect it has something to do with the hertz. In Japan I'm on 50 hertz, whereas in the US it's 60. When I recorded with my camera on the 60 hertz setting it was off on my laptop when I played it back, but maybe it'll show normally on here. I have to test it to find out.

  • Just tested that theory, no luck. But my other videos from pre-Japan (and other account) are fine, so I don't know what the issue is, except maybe something to do with coming to Japan. How frustrating.

  • It has nothing to do with the US, Japan, 50Hz or 60Hz. You are encoding wrong. Your computer probably can't handle it or your software is tripe.

Try re-encoding using a different format or different software.

If you are watching other videos while encoding (in Windows) this will affect the output of the video.

  • My computer is newer than two months old and it's a built-in camera. I doubt it's any of that. Before uploading the first video I also tried a few different video types. Nothing seems to be working.

  • Ah, and I should also mention the videos replay PERFECTLY until I upload them. No lagging, nothing else wrong that I can tell.

  • Well then there's still something wrong with the encoding. Clearly YouTube is losing the sync when it recodes the video. No one else has this problems so it's got to be a problem with your system.

    What software are you using?

  • The preloaded webcam manager. I'm not overly familiar with it yet but I've tried every setting I can think of and uploaded short sample videos. None went well. Maybe I'll just use the direct uploader. :( Hate the quality though...

  • Oh now I see what you mean by the direct upload manager!

I meant which operating system too.

If it's Windows, and I'm assuming it is, try using Windows Movie Maker or Windows Media Encoder, both are free.

Webcam software is usually put together by blind apes bashing their heads off of keyboards.

  • Yeah I'm not ready to switch to ubuntu and I won't use a mac because as of yet the software in my field *still* doesn't work on them.

I have Windows XP. The machine came with Vista but I bought an OEM copy of XP and "downgraded" immediately. Will do with the other programs. Right now I'm sick and am losing my voice anyway. :(
