Wow! I really like this picture! I usually skip ahead when I watch speedpaintings but I watched this one all the way thru. I was wondering, as far as painting goes, what's the difference between Photoshop and Sai? I know a lot fo people like to use Sai for lineart.

hmm Sai i feel like gives you a better control of your lines. either be brush or the pen function. you can control you line thickness better in sai. also sai has better color blending :)

photoshop has everything else like filters and its more powerful.

try out both and see what suits you more. i use both :)

what did you do from 1:38 - 139 to get the background looking so blended? or was it just a lot of overlapping using the watercolour brush? and 1:50 - 1:52 to get that bit of the face to go from flat colour to blended? and I know I'm asking a lot of questions but what brush settings did you have for the legs at 2:02 and 3:30? thankyou for showing us this!

@5dsAbr for 1:38 brush setting is - brush with high blending, full opacity..hmm just pause the video and look at the setting on the right side

for skin, i changed the blending a little lower and used less contrasting colors.

hmm basically play around with the leveling of blending you can do and maybe play with density as well.
