  • It was not Thai food and not taste as an original. Do not call it satay if you cant do anything closed to the original one... Put on Other name -_-

  • great vid but i must say i wish you gave credit to Malaysia instead of Thailand because satay originates from Malaysia and so does the sauce. Sorry but i had to point that outm

  • I'm usually (always) cooking for one. Do you think that sauce can be frozen in portions... Then gently heated for use?

  • This is Indonesian food. Thais copied from Indonesians and said it their food LOL! Thais are thieves!!!

  • im pretty sure thats not how sate should look/taste like.

  • i like to eat food wiv mi dik not a fork

  • IS HE SERIOUS? HARVEST EATING WHAT?! SOME THAI DUDES WHO KICK HIS HEAD IN IF HE TRIED TO SERVE THEM THAT SH#T! GIDDAFUKOUTTAHERE! PLEASE DONT TRY TO MAKE CURRY DISHES DUDE

  • I've never seen such a bleak looking satay sauce.....like...never.

  • @sillysaar I TOTALLY AGREE, PEANUT SAUCE LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THAT! U WILL KNOW REAL PEANUT SAUCE IF IT LOOKS LIKE THIN BUT NOT TOO THIN PEANUT BUTTER. (SCOFF) CHUNKY PEANUT BUTTER, THIS GUY.....

  • please please PLEASE tell us what's in the harvest eating house seasoning and poultry seasoning. you use it so much and we're all clueless.

  • it's our "all purpose poultry seasoning, it has a new name now...but you can make your own blend, go to the spice shop, but a bunch of different things, cumin, dried herbs, garlic etc.. and test and try different combos...that is what I did before partnering with company who makes our organic spice blends....they make it sooo easy....oil, spice, heat = awesome food..

Used our Greek Chicken spice last night to make an amazing chicken dish.......they are well worth it..

  • really coz I tried it without cooking the coconut milk ... I had an abominal discomfort..but I tried the other one I cooked the sauce nothing happens fantastics it great.

  • Sauce must be cook first because of the coconut milk..it will cause abdominal discomfort once you're not used to it.

  • Sriracha is a chili and garlic blend - It does have heck of kick. I just wanted to add that there is good amount of garlic in that product.

  • yummo~~ i think i'll try this although its not traditional. :)

  • If should have titled Grilled Chicken with Peanut Sauce Video Recipe, and all will be alright. I'm from Thailand but love the Mutton Satay from south of the borders. Coconut milk must be cooked to bring out the favor. Coconut milk turn sour easy in hot day.

  • @sih1688 EXACTLY! WHERE'S THE MARINADE? WHERE'S THE CURRY PASTE? THE ONLY THING THAT MADE SINCE WAS THE COCONUT MILK! CILANTRO? SRIRACHA? WHAT IS THIS MEXITHIA FOOD? GIDDUFCKOUTTAHERE!

  • Seems as though you made a few Malaysian buddies with this video I am not from Thailand ether but I love food on a skewer such a novel way to eat. I know how annoying it is coming across YouTube videos that prepare foods that are a signature of your country and they are prepared wrong such as the Argentine Chimichurri perhaps the greatest BBQ sauce in the world, Hay don't just take my word for it even Texas cattle ranchers are starting to switch over to Chimichurri from standard BBQ sauce.

  • You call this satay ??? Hmmm... you need to go to cooking school!

  • You said Satay means skewered food. Where are the skewers? Did I miss them?

  • Stop pluggin your spice

  • Hey buddy. I'm Malaysian. That is NOT satay. You can't put olive oil and poultry seasoning on chicken and call it satay. And satay has to be SKEWERED! Your peanut sauce is all wrong. And black beans? What is this, Thai-Italian-American-Mexican barbequed chicken? I am quite insulted by this. This isn't even Westernized, it isn't even in the same ballpark.

And you're just a bad chef in general. Cutting the chicken into three pieces when at the same time you're saying two.

  • this is NOT satay people

  • Dude.. why would you say it's satay if it isn't... I know I know.. you don't like skewers and eat with a knife and fork.. but hell..

and trying to sell your damn seasonings.. don't call it chicken satay when it clearly isn't!

God.. I really hope you're not a real chef. You suck!

So call it what you made it to be.. chicken with a wanna be peanut sauce.. and black beans.. WTF? Sooo not Thai!!! WHATEVER DUDE.. GET A CLUE!

  • Extra virgin olive oil?

U just westernize(sp?) the recipe. lol!

  • Damn dude, get the recipe right!!!! That really looks like shit to me.

  • This guy seems like an arrogant cocksucker. "I like to eat my food with a knife and fork and not a skewer". That's a fine statement but the manner in which it was delivered was doucherrific.

Then he proceeds to show us the magical spice tin and encourages the liberal usage of the material in said tiny tin. Again, I don't mind this and I hope his business booms, but baby tins of special spice blends can GTFO.

Based on the first 1:00 of viewing this, I do not care for this mutha.

  • Wow, Thai satay is totally different from Indonesian Satay. Even in Indonesia, there are so many varieties of satays. The regular one is as follow.

    1. Dark meet.

    2. Sweet soy sauce,

    3. Limo lime ( it seems only Indonesians use this kind of lime. It is very essential to make a real Indonesian satay).

    4. small amount of peanut sauce.

Marinate the chicken for about two hours or whatever duration you like. Then put in skewer and broiled it.

  • technically satay is malay word mean meat in the skewer so thats why I personally kinda confuse the result of the chicken satay that you made but overall it looks good. But you should try to make Malay sate with delicious sweet sauce and peanut sauce. thanks

  • lol he clearly said he knows what satay means but he dosent like eating meat off a skewer so he made it like conventional chicken.

    listen much?

  • Just let you know Mr.Snow

My mom who is from Thailand almost had a heart attack when you make this.

  • haha, why?

hey, p.s. - Is this a good peanut sauce recipe? They are all differet.

  • sure they are different but in every recipe you have to cook the coconut milk to bring out the coconut fat so it can have the smoothness that cooked coconut milk has.

  • yeah. I a different uncooked one similar to this and it was awful.. they put hoisin in it!(how weird)

  • Apa yang ko masak ni setannnnn?

  • This is not satay...

  • Though not "technically" a satay, I'm sure it has the same taste.

  • No, I don't think so. A "real satay" should be stored together with spices for at least 3-4 hours in the fridge before grilled so that we will get a better taste.

  • Ummm I have never heard that from ANYONE. Although marinating meats first is obviously more flavor enhancing, it's not what makes a satay a satay.

  • Ok you win! HAHA!! I'm malaysian, that's the way we (and other SE Asian countries) make satay and other barbecues. We love to marinate the meats to get better flavor. I've seen lots of western cooking shows and I can conclude that westerners like to grill meats without marinating them. Am i right? :D

  • Thank you. Someone who agrees with me. Us Malaysians know what we're talking about.

  • that's right! this is not how malaysian european preparing satay either!

  • No it doesn't. He used a completely different spice mix and an imitation peanut sauce.

  • Is it chicken satay? Oh my god!

  • can i please hav the measurements for the satay sauce and if u live in australia how do u get the spices bcause i live in australia

  • People...if you go to different areas of Mexico you get different kinds of Mexican food. Similarly in Southeast Asia (Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia) there are similar foods with regional spinoffs....

  • "Sa-theh" (2 short syllables) has many variations throughout Southeast Asia. Regardless of origin, authentic satay is marinated with Indian spices actually and native herbs. In all my years of Thai cooking I have never ever seen cold coconut milk used as a sauce. Please COOK THE MILK IN A SAUCEPAN otherwise you'll get stomache problems. Coconut milk from a can or box should never never be eaten straight out of the container.

  • But thais made Satay thai. It tastes better! And not similar to Malay one.

  • okay, it's from malaysia, indonesia, and thailand. Perhaps each of the country has different style of serving the sauce.

  • it is from thailand. ( iam thai)

  • I also have tip. I also tried using Tamarind juice in the marinade. Also gave a good flavour

  • finally a worthy suggestion from a youtube user....that is sounding darn good!

    Keith

  • i've heard that about 5 times....sorry I was wrong.

no matter where they're from..they rock!

    Keith
