  • onimotoko, i find it sad that people are somehow able to actually read the bible and not shake their heads saying "alright, this is obviously nonsense. i should have read this sooner." My point was that this guy is claiming his book is special because it claims to be special. If a book claiming to be special makes it special, then every book that claims to be special IS special. I'm using HIS own reasoning. Take issue with that.

  • I find it sad that people go by this reasoning: "Others have said the same thing. therefore they are all the same". Bad logic. If you read the bible and can't tell that what is written is good and true then there is no hope for you. Everything Jesus has told us to do is for our own good. Why do people resist? Because goodness reveals wickedness. Therefore people hate that which reveals their transgressions, He who is called the son of God.

  • Yes, defntly unprecedented!

  • Jesus has had an unprecedented effect on history, to believe that He never even existed is just stupid.

  • @Conail23 Unprecedented? No.

  • Congratulations on the absolute success of the Zeus point.

  • jezus man....let everybody believe what they want. Dont push people...believe is just what youwant to believe......its not to be taken literally

  • What I find so funny, is the bible. I mean, if god is all-mighty, then why is he using PAPER to "spread his word". Why not just do it á la Stargate and make it so that every human is born with the knowledge of the bible in their head.

  • @yared94 Thde foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men. God has chosen via the foolishness of preaching to save some. The printed word is a gift that the Christian believer Guttenberg gave to ther world in order that all people could have access to God's Words.

  • @firstplumbline

This makes no sense at all. My method is obviously superior in every way.

  • Dude, you might as well talk to a tape recorder...

  • it is nice to see a calm, collected conversation. i would like to have this same conversation b/c i think i could answer more of this man's questions. the street preacher was nice n' all, but he really could've answered the question bout the Bible. there r lots of reasons to believe the Bible. Just 1 example is all the fulfilled prophecies that the Bible gave, it's pretty amazing to say the least & it shows how mraculous the Bible actually is.

  • Conail, the writers of the New Testament were aware of the Old Testament. Ever think that maybe the writers of the NT wrote it in such a way to coincide with the OT prophecies??

  • the historical facts about Jesus are are well established with or without the new testament to look at

  • Personally, I don't think it matters. There was probably a guy named Jesus who existed. But I don't think he walked on water, or raised the dead, or healed the sick, et c.

  • fail. epic fail. There is very little historical evidence about jesus, let alone facts.

  • @SupremeChimp There is even less historical evidence to support the existence of Socrates!

  • @firstplumbline which is fine ... the arguments put forth in Socrates' works don't hinge on the actual existence of a human being, unlike Jesus.

  • I wish it was but that man is not Jim Grove, just one of his cronies, Jim Grove is the little scrawny man with a beard, He was there somewhere

  • I've had a near death OBE experience. My life has never been the same since. It was beyond what words can describe and somehow more real than the reality we think we're in now. I am now religious and feel terror for those who don't believe in life after death because of what I witnessed during my account.

  • You do realize that at the time, your brain wasn't functioning properly and therefore incapable of transmit anything coherent, or should at least be taken with a fair amount of skepticism.

  • shouldn't these people be in a cage and fed peanuts, aus?

  • Jesus is the truth.

  • Plato is the truth.

  • Or:

    Agdistis or Angdistis,Ah Puch,Ahura Mazda,Alberich,Allah,Amaterasu,An,Anat

    Bacchus,Balder,Bast,Bellona,Bergelmir,Bes

    Bixia Yuanjin,Bragi,Camaxtli,Ceres,Ceridwen...

And that's just a few of the A,B,C's

  • A pastor will let you down...

That's why it says beware of them, coming to you....

    "Intimidating to be a sheep."

How did you not burst out laughing?

  • Don't expect much out of ungodly people !

    "Dead people" do dead things.

They can laugh but they can't love!

Warn them: REALIZE, REPENT, RECEIVE !

A warning MUST sound serious !

But without using the Ten Commandments the street minister sounds weak.

  • You are well spoken and civil which is cool

I do disagree with the 'Christians are atheist also' but i do see the point you are trying to make. I dont like it when christians say 'Atheism is a religion too'. christians of course are theist. I think in the communication process its a pointless statement. Of course much of what you said is certainly much better. good points and good communication.

    :)

  • if you know 10% of everything there is to know in the universe, that leaves 90% you don't know. God may be in that 90% that you dont know. There is no such thing as an atheist-you are agnostics. you DONT KNOW if there is a God. big difference

  • You can also say The Cat in the Hat could be in that 90 percent. Agnostic and Atheist are completely different.

  • i didn't claim to be an atheist. i am agnostic, which means i don't know if a god exists or not. i don't know, therefore i don't believe. that makes me (and all agnostics) an atheist by default.

  • @filoIII The definition of atheism is "Lack of belief in a diety". Doesn't mean you have to know. Theists have a positive belief in a god, Atheist are those who have no belief in a god, agnostics say "I don't have an opinion."

  • @dallased25 What make you believe that they are exclusive?

  • @filoIII I am an Atheist because I do not believe in the existence of any gods due to lack of evidence. How hard is that definition to understand? Are you saying we're all agnostic towards the belief in unicorns and fairies as well, since nobody has 100% knowledge?

  • idiot, I wasn't looking for any "credit." And considering you haven't uploaded any videos at all, let alone one of you talking with a nut face to face, i really don't even consider your remarks as criticism. keep in mind, i didn't plan on actually conversating with the guy. Anyway, I'm not endorsing going out and being agressive with religious people. What i hope to encourage with this video is public dialogue, in a friendly and respectful manner, between rational people and the faithful.

  • Much respect for your civilized approach. I find that hard to do, eventhough I try and know I should, but religion angers me so much... >:(

  • Meh, he wasnt even a street preacher, just an ignorant hick that follows a more intelligent and knowledgable preacher around blindly and tries to repeat what he's heard. Go debate sum1 with more than 5 IQ points successfully then maybe I'll give you some credit

  • hmm, you should start asking more inconvenient questions about religion.

why is there so much evil in the world when god is all powerful? does it mean he is not all powerful? or does it mean he is evil? why does god ask a father to sacrifice his children for him?

  • Nice work. was this like an anti-abortion rally?

  • You should talk to all street preachers. I couldn't have debated that any better.
