i didn't claim to be an atheist. i am agnostic, which means i don't know if a god exists or not. i don't know, therefore i don't believe. that makes me (and all agnostics) an atheist by default.
@filoIII The definition of atheism is "Lack of belief in a diety". Doesn't mean you have to know. Theists have a positive belief in a god, Atheist are those who have no belief in a god, agnostics say "I don't have an opinion."

i didn't claim to be an atheist. i am agnostic, which means i don't know if a god exists or not. i don't know, therefore i don't believe. that makes me (and all agnostics) an atheist by default.
