@geckingen I agree completely. That was an experimental design with obvious problems. I have now made a totally new design that works much better, and there will be a YouTube video posted in the near future.
I don't get it, so whats the point of a telegraph ? Is it a device to send messages out to people and how does it do that>? I heard they once used this thing in the war, and I forgot maybe it was in WWI.
Dear hge1930 - You are so right. This key was more of an engineering challenge than an instrument for daily use. The contact spacing is an unintended consequence of the design, not a feature that I aimed for. Look at my DoubleBug 1 key video - this key is easy to use, can be set for close spacing and is very well behaved. See my website for more details and discussion.
A good looking key but oh dear , what an effort . This passion for enormous contact spacings defeats me . One month using this key would have put Charles Atlas out of business arm wise .
Nice work. A bit hard to see how it is achieved. I guess there is a similar mechanism on both sides to stop the pendulum from swinging back too far when making either dots or dashes. Is the pendulum length adjusted or a stop pushed against the spring to increase the natural frequency when making dots as compared to the frequency for dashes?
great mechanics but bad adjustment

Pretty amazing mechanical work! Wish the video were clearer!

Terrible. Dits and Dahs are almost the same length.

@sandhgreen impossible to understand on a little pile up or with a little of QSB, Isn´t, it?
