  • Videos like this one are real treasure!

  • I assume Keith was still in bed when the LA street scenes were shot!

  • The Music that changed my life!

  • awesome!!!

  • needs better volume

  • Mike je lepší malíř než-li já, tak, tak...

  • Is very good see by 182.876 times this images....great !

  • Vintage bw footage by R. Frank! This def sums up the Stones vintage 72!!

  • brian jones ..........

  • Dios mio esos hombres necesitan un peluquero

  • @ipoddude1995 I listen to it 2 times a day.

  • Another exquisite blues rip off by the fucking old stones! the only thing that saves this from the dumpster is Mick Taylor, and they were stupid enough to let him get away and take their credibilty with him!

  • Exile on Main Street might be my favorite album now. Years ago I tried to listen to it, and was in a different place in life and musical tastes and didn't appreciate it. Now, I can't think of a more complete record. It is the mark of true genius, and never gets old.

  • @ipoddude1995 best record EVER...listen to it 2 times per day

  • Most all of exile on Main Street touches my soul, inexplicable to most I think.

  • IMO.....This the best 'Stones' LP ever released!!!!! SOoooo BLUESY!!!!

  • the blonde go-to-lady or "mystery woman", best seen around 3:50 is chris o'dell, the famed apple pisces lady and miss o'dell from the george harrison-song. the ultimate über-groupie.

  • @mimilol56 You betcha!!!

  • @ipoddude1995 i listen to it every day... and im only 15

  • @galwegians08 why would anyone care about your age?

  • Exile On Mainstreet was their best album.

  • RIP this joint at 0:31

the BEST EVER , dirty , soulful , oozing class and talent

    the STONES will never die

  • no, @rstp72 "Rip this joint" is around 3:35 ... despite the pop-up ad for Rip this joint at 0:31 ...

The song at 0:31 is "HIP SHAKE (aka Shake Your Hips)" Written by J. Moore

  • @NYSAL01

    good call there bud

  • So thats where those photos inside the exile sleave come from---Los Angeles 1971 or 72. This film shows them walklng around LA----that's when the photos were shot.

  • whats the song at 0:31 ?

  • @kissarmy333

HIP SHAKE (aka Shake Your Hips)

    Written by J. Moore

  • still one of my all time favourite albums, every time i listen to it it sends shivers down the spine

  • O to have worked in any capacity with the Rolling Stones around this early 70's era - lucky ppl who had the chance. Hell I woulda been a roadie if I wasn't born too late at a bottom line dirt cheap rate!!

  • Thanks a lot for this GREAT stuff! :)

Stones are the greatest EVER! And Exile is just awesome, love this album!

  • all those still on the album all here in motion, pretty wild. Black Crowes watched this a few times.

  • Greatest album ever!!! Good footage, thanks for posting. I wonder where Keith was in the first five minutes when the guys were walking around the streets of LA?

  • I hear so much about this album lately and I thought Let it Bleed was considered their best of all time. Now I don't know. Nothing's better than the song "Gimme Shelter" jmho.

The Stones are just a little before my time even though I can somewhat remember the early 70s.

  • @zaqwert777 Let it Bleed is GREAT too and Sticky Fingers and Beggars Banquet, but for some reason they take ALL of their musical influences until that point and unconciously channel it into Exile! They explore everything! Counrtry, soul, blues rock and roll gospel and I don't even think they really intended the album to be this fucking good!!!

  • @andy65guitar yeah....too fucking good, i dream of that album ever since i was a kid....i listen to it anytime...anyday, best record ever

  • @theachtungtree

The sunshine bores the daylights out of you too then ?

  • @PAULLONDEN haha...i guess so

  • @andy65guitar What do all the things in this comment have in common? Hint...his initials are JM { with affection} take care to notice if they give him credits on the re-release! You obviously seem to like his work.

  • @Charles195th I understand your reference to The late Jimmy Miller and I totally agree with you. He produced, Begars banquet,Let it bleed, Sticky Fingers and of course Exile and Goats Head soup. Lets see ANY producer equal that out put including George Martin. Exile must have been frustrating for him and he never really made a mark after Goats head soup. Excellent point!!!

  • effin awesome....

  • awsome being re-released soon and their making a new documentary about it =)

  • what is the song from 1:00 ?

  • @horvathazagergo thats "Stop Breaking Down" from Exile On Main Street :)

  • Best rock album ever - I said that when it came out and everyone laughed at me. It has not diminished in greatness over time and I'm glad to see that the world is showing it the respect and admiration it deserves. ALL HAIL KEEF!!!!!

  • Lawd, I love the last 30 seconds

  • Never seen this "video" before. Many of the "stills" from the video were used in the "jacket" of the album "Exile on Main Street." A number of the shots of Jagger walking down the street at the beginning of the video. The poster at the movie house. A group picture of Mick and the boys walking down the street. A couple of "stills" of Keith at the very end.

  • Love this Album, I think was recorded in Keiths basement home, with a mobile recording studio equipment, and they were all stoned at the time! must of been great to be there!!!! look forward to there sp ed reissue !

  • Remember: next week is "Exile on Main Street" week on Jimmy Fallon's show. Anyone who doesn't own this album should run out and buy it right now. It's the sloppiest, tightest, grungiest, nastiest album the Stones ever made. Brilliant from beginning to end.

  • @ipoddude1995 is that all ? ;)

  • The Stones are the mysterious apparition that haunts your daydreams. Check out The Ghost Tongue and help rock and roll live.

  • great stuff

  • Where's Keef? Probably High & Happy!

  • @Joe46234 Oh there he is at the end.... not looking to happy, just fucked up.

  • HOLY SHIT!!! I KNEW this footage existed because you can see frames of footage on the Exile gatefold, but I never dreamed it would see the light of day. Just amazing. This is undoubtedly from the period where they were finishing the Exile tracks at Sunset Studios.

  • Perfect at 4.47+

  • Excellent film, a lot of shots from this walkabout feature on exile's album cover.

  • I'm a lifelong fan and I'm 46 and can't wait to hear the UMG remaster of EOMS and the new 10 tracks cause all the other UMG remasters to my ears, really do make the songs sound even better. The Stones will never be equalled IMO. They've got all the best ingredients in talent. To my ears, their music never ages. It's the craziest thing. I tip my hat to you guyz - love ur work. Can't imagine not having your work to rock out to.

  • @wrldgornd why all this "remastering" shit the original is he best krrp rooling bought the recrd in dundalk 1973 sill briliant

  • Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Some Girls are all just as good as Exile

  • @buskerbuoy some girls is great but it doesn't belong with the other three

  • Thanks for this BEST ALBUM EVER! "You have to scrape the shit right off your shoes" -Sweet Virginia.

  • fucking bloody awesome

  • My favorite album ever!!

  • Exile is rising to the top. In a few years it will be the no 1 album of all time. This super footage is a slip agent for that rise.

I advise all of you to check Videodrumz clip for "rocks off" made with the same Frank footage (search videodrumz rocks off).

Thanks to both of you for making Roberts Exile cover come alive.
