my 2002 trans am ws6 has hit 165

There was just the V6 (3.6 i think) and LS1 V8 which was a 346 if i remember right. The WS6 package was added by SLP but if this one doesnt have the Ram Air hood then it shouldnt have the WS6 package since that was a part of that package.

As for the 3rd gen (82-92) Camaros there was the Berlinetta which was the V6 for the first part, then RS package took that slot, and Iroc was the V8, i drive a 91' RS auto but i got the optional 305 V8 in mine so at least its still a real muscle car

@Ratmouth66 V6 was the 3.8L. I have one currently. Looking to sell it next spring as soon as it warms up here in MI.. Sorry no videos of it currently. Don't have to believe me but, I've gotten it up to 125 on the highway. Only mod is a magnaflow exhaust kit :) The 3.8 is a strong v6, don't get me wrong but I'm glad I chose it!

@suzakgj yeah my friend had a 2000 Firebird V6 and it was just as fast as my 91' Camaro RS w/305, bet it got a lot better gas mileage though haha. Ironicly the only mod on my Camaro is a Magnaflow exhaust, great minds think alike ;-) haha

This car took forever to get to 130, must be stock. Mine is super quick to about 110, then it starts to slow down.. Mine is a 6 speed with gears and a few other mods.

A lot of you have got the right idea. The Firebird is the V6 package and the Trans Am was the V8... This was obviously a Trans Am, however, it didn't have the cool Ram Air and it wasn't any kind of special edition.

And the Firebird is the car in general, you have the Firebird by itself is a V6, Firebird Formula 1, 5.7 liter V8, and the Firebird Trans Am, 5.7 liter V8 with ram air.

It's like the Camaro, V6, Camaro Z28, 5.7 liter V8, and Camaro SS, 5.7 liter V8 with ram air.

"WS6" on a Trans Am is the package. That's why if you put a Trans Am and a Trans Am WS6, one of the noticeable differences is the Ram Air hood.

Also, the Formulas were in production all the way to 2002.

3.8's are respectable too. plus its probably cheaper to buy a LS1 trans am or formula, than to make one out of a V6 model unless you are doing a lot of stuff to the engine. the engine has to come out of the car thru the bottom, so there would be a lot of labor. but if you were building the engine up, at least you could keep the V6 in it while the V8 build is going on.

All you'd need to do to a 3.8 to reach 130 is program out the governer, install LS1 rated tires, and hope to god your left foot is just as heavy as the right in case of traffic.

yeah most fbodies with teh 3.8 are limited at 118 some are different. Z rated tires are for 160mph+ so thats a good way to go and i gotta say i laughed so hard at the fact that what you wrote is sooo true. except sorry to be a party pooper but you use your supposed to use your right foot for gas and brake. but still that was funny thanks for the laugh bud. nobody ever thinks about the brakes, only the speed. and in all fairness, ive owned 2 of them. the f bodies dont have really good brakes.

The thing you said about the brakes on f-bodies is very true. My mother had a '94 V6 Camaro, and the thing needed brakes every three months or so. It also had a habit of taking twenty minutes to roll the windows down because they were toasted.

That's what I meant, it didn't want to, but it did. I think it was the way my father always did the brakes, he used the cheapest pads he could find, but he never replaced the rear drums. Wouldn't matter too much anyway, back brakes only do 20% of the work.

The one black mark I've got against Camaros is the brakes suck.

PROOF that it wasnt topped out..at 38 seconds into the video, the transmission finaly shifted into overdrive, note the rpms at 110mph were at 3000 as opposed to the initial acceleration when the rpms were at 5000 at 110mph...sry to double post, but i watched it again, and realized there was proof for all the idiots out there. i drive a 2002 WS6, so i had to say something. its hard to let someone diss your car.. nice car man, maybe it will be handed down to you one day
