OK, over here in the UK we have a big "problem" with illegals. They travel from eastern europe to UK.
The UK authorities say they are deporting these illegals. This does not happen immediately (if at all). Some are detained but most are given bail. This is where the trouble starts.
They are supposed to sign in at a illegals centre. Some do, most don't. Instead they filter into the "Illegal system" gain employment with dodgy employers and are living in squalor. More problems for authorities.
As long as America offers freedom and opprtunity people will come here on bloodied knees just like your grandparents or great grandparents did.
A person brave enough to leave home, tradition, and family to come to america and work for a better life for him or herself and his or her family should be welcomed with open arms.

Even a conservative estimate of 20 million illegal aliens in this country would mean that it accounts for nearly 7% of our population.

Look at violent crime associated with illegals (gangs, robberies, assaults, etc), just look at the crime stats for any area rife with illegals. Plus, look at the U.S. prison population ---> 28% illegal aliens.
Aside from violent crime, other illegal acts commited by illegal aliens:
- breaking into U.S. illegally
- identity theft
- working illegally
- driving w/o insurance, registration, license (in most states)
Im not saying that no crime exists, im asking for stats showing that a disproportionate amount of violent crime is caused by illegals.
And citing a stat (without a source) of high rate of imprisonment only shows that a lot more of them are arrested and inprisoned. It doesnt say why they are there..

We dont know what the stats are on unfulfilled warrants.

Convictions are what counts, no warrants.

Further, America has enough (way too much) home grown crime, ie. Americans who commit crimes. We certainly have our hands full with our own people. Given that fact, we certainly don't need Mexico's criminals, El Salvador's criminals, et al. on top of our own criminals.

I (the host) never said that illegals commit a disproportionate amount of crime...but ALL crime committed by people here illegally could have been prevented by enforcing our immigration laws. There is no way we can have an accurate proportional statistic because we don't know exactly how many are here illegally, and if large illegal alien havens like LA, Chicago, etc. can't even ask about a suspect's status, how can we possibly know how many are committing crimes?

Why is it that your focus is geared towards unknown aspects of crime(with an angle towards Mexicans) instead of something else:
16,000 homicides in a given year in the US, 50% of those are from African Americans.
The victims are just as dead.
Do we really want a country that allows people to be questioned on their status?, seems to me to be a violation of the 4th Amendment.

Crime stats for illegals are extremely low compared to the general population, is it such a "crisis" that you are willing to waive all citizens rights to unreasonable search and seizure based on unknowable perceived crime waves?

This is a number that is pulled out of air to provoke an emotional response. You tube is film, mom must have told you it isnt real. There is a lot of videos, that doesnt make it real. Im not a plant for anyone, im concerned that the nature of the way this issue is going will be worse for our country than the actual problem itself. It is bringing out the worse in everyone.

According to the FBI website:
17,399 murders occurred last year
30% were committed by Whites
40% were committed by Blacks
1% were committed by others.
The remainder is unknown.
that leaves 29% left but is unknown~~
We want to concern ourselves with the known and compare with the claims by the people on these videos.
Suppose that 1 % is actually all hispanic, and all of them are illegals(not likely). That would give you 174 known murders last year by illegals.

We can argue all day about the crime illegals commit, their gangs, the publicly funded social services they use, their illegal employment, etc. But you should look at yourself and your postings here. Here is what it comes down to --> You twist yourself into a pretzel trying to defend lawbreakers. It's really disgusting. They are illegal aliens. They are lawbreakers. There are 12 - 25 million of these lawbreakers in the USA. There is nothing more to discuss. End of story.

I will say that I am not defending anyone, only that you are making them into something they are not. A jaywalker is a criminal, and most people have run red lights. You dont have special blogs and vigilante groups for them, nor (not much) for blacks. But its seems to be ok to distort the reality so you can chase Mexicans out of the country, regardless of the consequences..

To show you how ill you are, you dare to put jaywalkers in the same category as 20 million illegal aliens who are working illegaly, engaged heavily in identity theft in order to work, getting welfare and food stamps on behalf of their anchor babies, forming gangs, driving drunk, driving w/o license/insurance, taking American jobs, depressing wages, etc.

i made a good case that your points on a percieved crime epidemic is overblown. That these 20 millions are less likely to commit serious violent crimes.
Where is your outrage at the companies who have brought us to this point? Why are you not foaming at the mouth at the government, many administrations, who have gotten us here?
Why now? Why are you at this now? What has changed over the last few years that makes this so urgent, over other pressing issues?

You made no case at all. I provided Congressional testimony and you provided "a feeling" for what you "think".
I have infinite outrage towards politicians and businesses on this issue. I have been to D.C. twice at the "hold their feet to the fire" events. I donated money to gather signatures for the Arizona measure to crack down on employers (and I don't even live in Arizona!).
I've been at this for 14 years; I personally gathered 400+ signatures for California's Prop 187 way back in 1994.

Logic alert! The 4th amendment only applies to citizens. Does it also violate your fourth amendment rights when a police officer asks for your id at a traffic stop, and if not how is this different?

he has a reason to stop me, he can ask and I will comply. If he asks my citizenship for no reason, i will polite not comply.
Asking your status for no reason is a violation and there is no way to know or guess unless you assume latinos are non citizens.

Question 1: yep, we are saying that those who support illegal immigration are more prone to violence, I am open to the counter argument but see no actual proof for the position.
As to your second question? That gets us into some interesting waters. One of the things we take note of on our blog is how the government takes pains to not provide good statistics on this issue. So all we have is anecdotal evidence. If you'd like any links to that say the word.

i cannot. I will say that the Minuteman and groups like that provoke extreme reactions. They dont seem like a mindset that would back down to violent attacks from anyone.
the underlying message is in error, and so, to me, the extremist reactions on both sides is undeserved.
