@pbaylis1 as a teenage delinquent i was born again in 1994....anglican church (a little evangelical/charismatic too)....grew in Christ....fervent....was taught transubstantiation, communion of saints and devotion to our Lady are misguided teachings (amongst other things)....but they too love Jesus with all their heart (that's most important) they are true believers too of the faith, but take it that they havent yet enjoy the full breadth and depth of our worship and service to the Almighty.....

John 6:51 TAKEN out of context. If you back up just a couple verses to John 6:47-48, you'll find the context, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life." Jesus was speaking about salvation. To teach that Jesus meant for us to literally digest His body is not only absurd, but is also inconsistent with the rest of the Bible.
In John 10:9 Jesus claimed to be the "door." How do we go through this "literal" door? Does the Catholic religion have a secret door somewhere that we must all walk through. The "door" which Jesus spoke of is NOT a literal wooden, but abstract (cannot be perceived with the 5 senses). The Bible simply means that the door to heaven is THROUGH Jesus Christ! If John 6:51 is to be taken as literal instead of spiritual in meaning, then John 10:9 would make no sense at all.
When Jesus tried to explain to Nicodemus that he needed to be "born again" in John chapter three, Nicodemus took Jesus literally and was dumbfounded. Christ commanded "Do this is memory of me", i.e. regularly, as the early Church taught us. We don't just do what God commands ONCE, then go back to what we want to do. We don't do that with the 10 commandments and we don't that with any of his other commands which aren't obviously one-time. Maybe you should re-consider your position. To our physical bodies, it's still bread and wine.

So? The belief has been the same since the first generation of Christians. True Christians have always believed that the bread and wine are changed into the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ. Always have, always will.

@pbaylis1 when I started work, I got carried away with the materialism of this world and drifted from the faith/church.....to cut the long story short....after wandering in the 'wilderness', the Holy Spirit led me back to Church (around 2007), the Catholic Church, and I've been so blessed and thankful for having these Mysteries revealed to me day by day as I walk with Jesus and pray my beads as a devotion to our Lady (and her intentions, i.e. for the sinners, sick and poor soulds in purgatory).

John 6:51 TAKEN out of context. If you back up just a couple verses to John 6:47-48, you'll find the context, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life." Jesus was speaking about salvation. To teach that Jesus meant for us to literally digest His body is not only absurd, but is also inconsistent with the rest of the Bible.

In John 10:9 Jesus claimed to be the "door." How do we go through this "literal" door? Does the Catholic religion have a secret door somewhere that we must all walk through. The "door" which Jesus spoke of is NOT a literal wooden, but abstract (cannot be perceived with the 5 senses). The Bible simply means that the door to heaven is THROUGH Jesus Christ! If John 6:51 is to be taken as literal instead of spiritual in meaning, then John 10:9 would make no sense at all.

The meaning of the keys is understood when you refer to Isaiah 20. In the Davidic Kingdom they are the symbol of Kingly authority and power, and succession of the office of the holder. Jesus is the heir of David and now King. He gave the"keys" to Peter. This means Jesus delegated His power and authority to rule.

However, he can simultaneously make himself present on earth (spiritually or physically) ... for example, whenever two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them. It is, as St. Thomas Aquinas maintains, the greatest ongoing miracle on the planet.

The Catholic Church has been the greatest power in Europe for a very long time. How long do you think they have been screwing children? The Catholic church created WWII! Hitler, Nazi, and Ustashi are all Catholic Creations. Even today, the Croatian Ustashi are proud Nazi Catholics, and not ashamed to say so. Catholics need to read their Bible and stop believing everything that is being taught to you by these false teachers. The blood and body of Christ was NOT meant to be taken literally. IF it was, Jesus would have cut his own body and bled in front of the disciples and they all would have left the room, I am sure. He said to "do this in remembrance of Me": Look it up yourself: Luke 22:19 and again its mentioned in 1 Cor. 11:25 and 1 Cor. 11:24. These blood things are NOT from God. Read it.

@WorkingCatholic Being hung on the cross is a whole different issue. We are talking about transubstantiation, which is a catholic invented word. Not talking about Jesus hanging on the cross which is real and physical. Transubstantiation is the only thing I am talking about. This word was created in the year 1130 and has been used since by priests. Making a miracle in front of the church, that really is not a miracle at all, it gives a lot of power to priests and misleads catholic people.

So? The belief has been the same since the first generation of Christians. True Christians have always believed that the bread and wine are changed into the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ. Always have, always will.

Please read this verse over and over very carefully. Jesus says (1) that He is the living bread, (2) that the bread He will give at a later time is His Flesh, and (3) that the flesh is the same flesh that He will give for the life of the world (on the cross.)
It's the same flesh! It's real! Jesus said so!
In John 6:48-58, Jesus repeats over and over that we must eat his flesh (though it is under the appearance of bread) in order to have eternal life. Believe it.

If the Mass is the same Sacrifice as that of Calvary ~ and the origin of the Mass is supposed to be the Last Supper, how can it be the same Sacrifice as that of Calvary ~ since the Last Supper took place before Calvary?
Secondly if Jesus broke that bread into multiple pieces, which was supposed to be hisb literal body ~~ then he would have at least broken one bone ~ when scripture says not a bone of him shall be broken.
Exodus 12:46 & John 19:36, ~ so how was the bread his literal body I ASK

Catholic beliefs are older than the NT, and not all of them are described in the Bible because the Bible is a Catholic book that was never intended to be a catechism. However, there is not a single Catholic doctrine that conflicts with anything in the Bible, and there is nothing in the Bible that contradicts a single Catholic doctrine.
If there were, why would the Church have included it in the Bible?
