@demon6661113 imo "he can skeet for real" plus using console commands to alter the crosshairs isn't BS, it's legit. A lot of players do that because the original crosshairs I find distracting and impedes view, plus crosshair that size is unnecessary.Yes, altering the crosshair does help with aim but still takes a degree of skill in order to pull off a skeet. (try doing a skeet on a pro hunter)

So bloody pleased to have decided ive had enough of missing kills and melee etc yet if all were as it seemed visually i was actually doing them perfect, hence being pissed off. Its taken me 1600 hours to finally look at why i still miss ds and skeets sometimes yet know im doing it perfectly ok. Im shocked at how far away the hit box is from what you see visually! its crazy. This and other vids are helping no end. Thanks man!!!!!!

Hey do you have an Xbox cuz we Xboxers or in my case both consle owners of the game cuz many of the people i meet on xbox are pubs and cant even do a simple wall pounce and they do is short pounce and hog the hunters =D cuz If there was an Xbox tutorial mabye people wont suck at L4d like the people I meet on the Steam version of the game

Good video but I reviewed it a little late. I could never get the timing down for my skeets and deadstops because of the varying hitboxes due to the Source engine.

The problem with knowing when to melee is knowing how bad you're lagging IMO.

Plus I know it's for educational reasons but showing how all the hunters jump from straight up isn't a good way to really practice is it?

In an actual game you're going to be dealing with common infected as well as hunters and... suffice to say... most hunters go for the low pounce. It's always nice to land from up high but the chances of getting a person are reasonably low.

It's good to practice melee timing tho...

ping issue:

You can hit tab at any time and see your relative ping. Ususally its a bit lower than it shows. To see your true ping you can enable netgraph via console. ( Usually when tab menu says my ping is 100 its actually 75-80)

To compensate for higher ping, you just shoot and melee a bit earlier.

Yeah I guess. But 6666Brent is sorta kinda right. I found that the hitbox video to the right helped quite a bit to see where to melee the hunter from.

I honestly would rather move out of the way, melee, shoot but that's just me :P

How much of an effect does ping have on melees and skeets?

Ping has a very significant effect on skeeting and melees. Using console command "net graph" you can see your actual ping(ms, latency.) Usually your ping is truely about 20 numerals lower than it displays on your tab menu. In higher ping you'll want to melee earlier. Lower ping you can melee a bit later. My advice is to train in high and low ping. To me, I can glance at my ping in ready up mode and have a good idea of how to adjust my melees.

Well, I think the best map to practice on is No Mercy 1. However, there is a hunter training map to practice pounces and wall jumps.
