The only person who has ever pierced me is a registered nurse!!! Not saying everybody has to but if you can get it done by someone like that do it! They will take care of you and make sure stuff like this doesn't happen!
my sis and my friend went to get piercings.. and omg! my friends eyebrtow got infected, my nipple got infected and my sis tongue was squirting blood everywhere after laughing so hard a few days after getting it done.

there are certain piercers who arent as careful as they seem to be, they might not be as 100% safer as you want them to be. but regardless of what its not the piercers fault if your piercings turns out to be infected. it dpends if you dont clean it to well

EveryPiercing i have including my tongue ring has healed amazingly! :) I only have 2 people that are allowed to touch my body with needles because i know and trust them and have never herd or seen any of there piercings turn out badly....but It is very easy to find a piercer who can do an amazing job you just need to know what to look for!

Well, i've had my tongue piercing for 5 years now, and there have never been any kind of problems with it. I think it's individual for every person how their piercings will turn out, but yeah, off course, when getting a piercing you should be very carefull and very hystirical about cleaning it - trust me I should know, I now have 18 piercings, and I have been pierced 23 times
and to add to my previous comment, the gauge of your jewelry looked way too thin, which is another problem. should've been done with a 12 gauge.
nothing should stop you from getting your tongue re-pierced by a professional, if you really want it. and you should NEVER use your experience as a deterrent to others just because it went wrong for you. use it as a learning experience, and try again if you are willing.
you look like you're way too young to legally have those piercings, first of all. it doesn't make you "cooler" to have body mods in high school, dear. who pierced your tongue, your 17 year old friend with a dirty needle?
if you had gone to an experienced professional [you know, NOT to a TATTOO shop], things would've gone better for you.

Its where you go.. Your tongue ring should NOT be in the middle it should be off center because of that vien.. Always make them show you the mirror before they do the piercing because if they dont know what your doing your fucked

the same thing happened to me and i took mine out about two months ago and still dont have feeling in my tongue. i loved the piercing but i wish i would have been a little smarter about getting it done
its quite rare for it to go wrong. personally i thought it was totally painless, i didnt feel a thing i closed my eyes and it was over in 10 seconds at most.. if you get it done properly and professionally, then you wont have any problems.. it all depends on where you go to have it done.. theres nothing to be scared about go to a proper body piercing shop and there wont be a problem
there are nerves in every part of yur body. this could happen with any piercing. you should always know the possibilites before getting any piercing. i have had my tongue pierced for 6 yrs. its good that someone is posting a video of what COULD happen. but dont phsyc yourself out just cause it happened to them. go to some1 who knos what theyr doing and where the nerves are and yu'll be fine ;)
They look at the top and bottom, Your showing people that it is a risk. no its not, Your peircer wasnt pro, Ive gotten my snake eyes and regular one... They are supposed to check topand bottom for vessels. Do your research before getting anything mama.

before piercing a tongue a piercer will look at it both top and bottom. On the bottom it is easy to see nerves and blood vessels and therefore the piercer will either try to avoid this or will tell you your tongue cant be pierced as its too dangerous. This girl obviously shouldnt have had hers done, and yes she should have researched it but then again the piercer may have been lucky in the past and therefore had good reviews. I doubt she would have known if her tongue was dangerous to pierce!
Yet another reason why you need to do research before getting a piercing. A good tattoo shop would know how to do this and know what to look for. I knew all of the risks when I got my tongue pierced but still wanted it so I went to a place that I had recommended to me by plenty of different people and also did research on. I've had it for almost 6 years and couldn't be happier.
The piercer should have checked the tongue for any major veins. usually useing a flash light. when they dont check is when you know you shouldnt be letting them pierce you.

@deyot2009 Actually suing may have been possible. There is a difference between trying to sue because of an infection which can be called your own fault and the piercer hitting a nerve which is obviously their fault.

My friend had hers pierced but went to some cheap place, they pierced through a nerve and she started bleeding heavily right away. They had to call an ambulance as she was losing alot of blood, she spent 3 nights in hospital recovering from it all. She still has no sensation in her tongue after it and this was 3 years ago.
VVV although there are things that can go wrong wid a tongue piercing they rarely do , all piercings can get fucked up butt ppl do them anyways, i got my tongue pierced twice and once in the village of nyc and neither of them got infected u just have to take good care of the piercing , as well as any other piercing you get

You can go to a piercer who knows EXACTLY what they're doing, who has been doing it for 20-30 years and it can still take a turn for the worse.
There's never a 100% sure way to know your piercing will heal perfectly.
Every person's nerves are different and your nerves could place differently that everyone else's.

the same thing happened to me and i took mine out about two months ago and still dont have feeling in my tongue. i loved the piercing but i wish i would have been a little smarter about getting it done

its quite rare for it to go wrong. personally i thought it was totally painless, i didnt feel a thing i closed my eyes and it was over in 10 seconds at most.. if you get it done properly and professionally, then you wont have any problems.. it all depends on where you go to have it done.. theres nothing to be scared about go to a proper body piercing shop and there wont be a problem

there are nerves in every part of yur body. this could happen with any piercing. you should always know the possibilites before getting any piercing. i have had my tongue pierced for 6 yrs. its good that someone is posting a video of what COULD happen. but dont phsyc yourself out just cause it happened to them. go to some1 who knos what theyr doing and where the nerves are and yu'll be fine ;)

They look at the top and bottom, Your showing people that it is a risk. no its not, Your peircer wasnt pro, Ive gotten my snake eyes and regular one... They are supposed to check topand bottom for vessels. Do your research before getting anything mama.

i have my tongue pierced. ive had it for a month now and i love it! i was scared that something was going to go wrong but its been fine thank god!! im so happy with it! if ut nervous go for it and go to someone that has been piercing for a while! im not saying this cant happen to u but dont let it scare into not doing it! just be careful and clean it properly and u should be fine!! :))

before piercing a tongue a piercer will look at it both top and bottom. On the bottom it is easy to see nerves and blood vessels and therefore the piercer will either try to avoid this or will tell you your tongue cant be pierced as its too dangerous. This girl obviously shouldnt have had hers done, and yes she should have researched it but then again the piercer may have been lucky in the past and therefore had good reviews. I doubt she would have known if her tongue was dangerous to pierce!

Yet another reason why you need to do research before getting a piercing. A good tattoo shop would know how to do this and know what to look for. I knew all of the risks when I got my tongue pierced but still wanted it so I went to a place that I had recommended to me by plenty of different people and also did research on. I've had it for almost 6 years and couldn't be happier.

The piercer should have checked the tongue for any major veins. usually useing a flash light. when they dont check is when you know you shouldnt be letting them pierce you.

cause that's what your piercer is supposed to check for.
not everyone can have a tongue piercing in the same place.
i want to get mine done, but half of my tongue is numb from getting my wisdom teeth removed and the nerve being fucked up.
i'm kind of scared that a piercing might royally fuck it up...
but, i will probably get it anyway.

I have had mine done for almost 3 years and i guess i was lucky but your lucky cause most nerves in your tongue go to your heart so you are very lucky i would sue whoever did it i know you cant but damn. its not so scary getting it done they just have to pay attenchen and you have to be soooo perifictly still not move a muscle

@deyot2009 Actually suing may have been possible. There is a difference between trying to sue because of an infection which can be called your own fault and the piercer hitting a nerve which is obviously their fault.

My friend had hers pierced but went to some cheap place, they pierced through a nerve and she started bleeding heavily right away. They had to call an ambulance as she was losing alot of blood, she spent 3 nights in hospital recovering from it all. She still has no sensation in her tongue after it and this was 3 years ago.

VVV although there are things that can go wrong wid a tongue piercing they rarely do , all piercings can get fucked up butt ppl do them anyways, i got my tongue pierced twice and once in the village of nyc and neither of them got infected u just have to take good care of the piercing , as well as any other piercing you get

The girl in the video is right: for tongue piercings, the person can be the most experienced person in the world, but things can still go wrong because of all the nerves & vessels. & I'm not trying to be mean, but I have a slight case of OCD & her Monroe's look a little crooked....
