tengo un problema con esta camara porque tengo una pc mac que no reconoce el formato en el que se grava el video y ahora tampoco quiere pasarlos a otra pc una HP de verdad que estoy muy frustrada y no se qye hacer si alguien me puede decir algo sobre esto seria muy bueno para mi, gracias

I own this camera . I load my music vids up and then convert videos the SONY software to an MPEG-2. Does that limit them to 720 max? What settings SHOULD ould I use when filming (HD FH, HD HQ, HD SP) and how can I maximize my resolution when uploading my videos to Youtube? Also what about sound settings? Hi medium or low?

hi, I have a SR12 too, just wondering if you have figured out how to setup the dial (by default it's manual focus) to manual change shutter speed, white balance and such? I've only discovered recently that the dial is capable for more than manual focus, but couldn't get more info about how to do it. thanks

Youtube's HD isn't 1080p, but it's 720p. Export your video at a resolution of 1280x720.

Not really. It's just high quality. By YouTube standards, High Definition is a 1280 by 720 video resolution.

Ek0shi is right. And it's not far from sharp enough to be called HD. it almost looks like it's been streched. I do believe it's a HD recording, but uploading this in 1280x720p would make the video sharper for ever pixel will be used seperately. Then the HD quality truly stands out

i have the same camera and it sometimes lags when i import movie clps from my Macbook.. but when i shoot my camera using the SD Quality it doesn't lag at all... on the contrary, its almost the same as the HD Quality..

when i was messing around on imovie, there was a message when capturing video that said for HD, it is recommended for macbooks, macbook airs, pros, and mac minis to have an external drive. go and see for yourself.

- since I want to do a film, is the focus strong and reliable enough to do DOF scene on a person's face (in dialogues scenes)?

- I see the colors are vivid (more cinematic feel) than the other Sr12 footage around here, did you do any color correction? And does the footages taken with this camera are 32 bits ? or 16 bits... hopefully not limited to 8 bits..

I like Pinnacle. It is very easy to use but you need a very powerful computer for Full HD movies. Unfortunately, Pinnacle sometimes stops at work. I never used and never seen Sony Vegas.

I don't know why, just because! :) I am a novice digital camcorder user. Pinnacle import movies directly from the camera. HDR-SR12E uses the AVCHD format (files formats on the HDD in the PC are *. m2ts and *.modd).
