Great to watch. I did my first day of HR bendi bus training today.i did a loading dock first time quite well. But I had a problem doing a straight reverse. Id start quite well, but then i kept focusing on keeping the bus straight, and the kerb had a slight lean. I ended up near the gutter. If i see to much bus in the left mirror, do i steer a bit to that mirror or opposite? stupid and impatient till my next day i know. Just want to get that little tip in my brain. cheers
amazing video best ive seen exactly the test here in Ireland to pass this is gonna be magic for me especially the writing on the vehicle tip, thank you
Love the technique in this video, you make it look so easy. I'm still 12 months away from my HC but I want to start preparing now and these videos help demystify the (reversing) process. Thanks for sharing.
Great vid thanks for posting did my hc test in vic last week got 88% for coupling and gear changing and driving but stuffed the backing up completely going to have a lesson before i resit again pretty worried about it to tell you the truth but thanks again if your not a teacher you should be
Victoria mate...I passed eventually and even had success on my first local run reversing from a street thru a gate and into a loading dock..all in one hit...:-)...still eed more practice though
am I dumb or what, been driving HR vehicle now for 3 years flawlessly...undertaking my HC all this week...have passed to coupling/uncoupling exercise, am at 99.9% at driving a non syncro, 21 speeder, but for past day can't for the life of me to the figure S and into an imitation loading bay.....2 other candidates are done and dusted, passes everwhere.....am I rooted?
Great video guys. This really helps me alot. I have one question. Does the amount of revolutions on the steering wheel to the left and right in this video, when backing/folding the trailer around the corner differ to different trailer sizes?
@skezza3 Yes, it does. If you use a different truck and trailer on the same corner it can varies by about an extra half turn of the steering. Shorter trailers seem to be harder for the person learning as they react( the trailer that is) a lot quicker to steering. This video gives a very mechanical method to getting the truck around the corner but it does teach you which way to steer, roughly how much to steer and when to chase the trailer .
bit wide on the bend.

Another excellent example of demystifying the challenge of reversing a semi. Once again thanks for sharing this with us.
