  • if you read the caption it says "The young man's ghost is seen walking beside the train tracks. The form he takes is a single light floating beside the tracks. Sometimes the light floats at waist level (as if he is walking beside his horse) and other times the light floats above the head (as if he is riding his horse)." saw exactly what it describes but i was on the tracks not the path... i had a lot of people with me and they saw the same thing so it's all legit!!

  • To all the people that say this is fake, you should go up there yourself. I thought it was fake so I went up there yesterday two different times. I saw it both times. I plan on going again tonight. This time, I'm going to head down the path and try to debunk it.

  • Did you guys go down that old dirt road that starts with an "M"? I'm not going to say the name of the road due to the fact that it would increase the volume of people that go down there at crazy times of the night. But if so, I use to take groups down there and show people "the light". Nobody knows what it is or what is causing it. Some think it is gas from the ground. Others claim it is cars from the other end of the old railroad track. The car theory is definitely false.

  • All I see is a blob that could be almost anything. You guys should lay off the wacky tabbacky.

  • whats the song

  • hearing the ghost say"can you see me"is worst then being followed in the bush late at night

  • hearing the ghost say "can you hear me" is worse then being charged by a hellhound while trapped in a stalled car

  • You know how many nights me and my friends get on 4 wheeler and go down there waiting for people to come site seeing and scare the fock out them =)) been here many times the light isnt seen as much as it used to be

  • Holy ghosts, there's no way that is one of their friends with a light. No way. It's space aliens giving birth to sasquatch's ghost while entering coordinates for Bush's Hurricane machine! Black Mountain and Asheville have their own ghost light tales. I believe the "rows of burning lights" were KKK. Not ghosts, sorry.

  • It's a deer eye.

  • whats the music from?

  • Wtf this is fake it could easily be someone with a light or somthing i mean why didnt they walk up to it and actually try and touch it i cant actually believe that i wasted 6.52 minutes of my life i wish there was a botton that could give me back that 6.52 minutes of my life. Its Just not cool -,-

  • @navydad125 its not fake

  • This story is from Maco, North Carolina. It's called the ghost of Maco station.

  • go see the paulding light! it's even cooler!

  • @stichmorg: congrats thats some quality rage you have working for you!

  • it is a lightening bug and you sound high. Drugs are bad,,,mmmm kay?

  • @NakedMime not a lightning bug jackass. Brown mountain lights. Been known about since settlers came. Even a few presidents have seen it.

Get your facts straight, you naked shitdick.

  • @stitchmorg Brown Mountain Lights thought to be KKK. More likely than ghosts or space aliens.

  • @NakedMime I went last night. The light is too white, and too big to be a lightening bug. Plus, last night it was too cold for lightening bugs.

  • i went there and all i saw was a quick flash of light that look as big as a star in the sky..

  • Hm... I think a more quiet and subtle music choice would have given it a more dramatic effect personally, but it worked out okay.

  • Comment removed

  • I remember when i was about 8 and we live in NC and we looked for ghosts, (me and my friends, we thought it was fun) and we had heard about the headless man holding a lantern at the mines that ,lost his head after he was decapitated by his boss when he found out he was stealing gold. Brians is right we held up a flashlight a glare turned it off, it went away on it was back and we found out it was a hoax.

  • HEY!! listen about 1.26 a soft voice saying something, are you scared, am i dead? dunno, cant listen clearly, please check, played it a thousand of times and there is a voice there that doesnt belong for the ppl that recorded this video!!!

  • I heard of a railway ghost light that if you tap on the rail loud enough the light at the end seems to get closer and closer but as you walk towards it ... its almost like its backing away from you. Saw it on a ghost show of some kind.

  • Looks like Larry is returning with the beer.

  • what you taped was a spider web flopping around in the wind reflecting the light from your camera that's why it gets dim off and on. and the wind makes it appear to be floating around. guess why it hasn't moved anymore then the few inches in the area you filmed in ?

Ive seen many vids just like this trust me its a spider web..

  • @brians235 actually i believe what caused was a spider web but the light is reflecting off of a pile of raccoon shit after the animal digested tin foil when i was in the army stationed in Guam we use to see this quit often but u r correct it is a spider web

  • I've seen this light and chased it too! If you google "takeandread" and "ahoskie light" you can read my story about it. it was scary!

  • i think this is the mako light, somthing bout joe baldwin got his head cut off lol, i used to leave around there

  • Did anyone try approaching the light to see what it was?

  • @OmegaWolf747 a scary ass light in the middle of freking no wear screw that hell no u walk up to it while ur eyes bleed

  • i might go ther tonight! (10/31/10)

  • It was me with the light. I was just messing with the 2 stoners.

  • whats the music from????

  • The one I saw on tv they would bang on the train tracks with a rock and the light would appear.

  • Guess there is more then one train track with a ghost looking for its head. The other ghost looking for its head by train tracks in Arkansas...I remember seeing the Arkansas one on Unsolved Mysteries or some paranormal show.

  • that's not in greenville!! its Vander. The Vander Light.

  • i went there today.. it is called brown mountain lights at wismans look out.. shit is real

  • @amber37650 this video isnt the brown mountain lights, though you are right, those are real

  • fireflies??

  • Hi what is the story of this ghost Legend?

  • LOL they sound like they are all high.

  • well not to long ago, some people did and it was on TV and when they got to the spot the light was on, everything just seemed normal but the people looking from the distance could still see the light.

  • Hi~obviously the guy "died", killed by 3 men, how did they know this happened? did the killers confesed? but no body was found, so anyway. I'm an amateur ghost hunter too, usually I ask these types of questinos?

  • I grew up right down the road from one just like this, we have been to see it many times. We walked where the train tracks used to be,Never saw anything like this tho. His name was Joe Balwnand its called the Maco Light...Some say its just swamp gas, some say its really Joe looking for his head. Its off of 74/76 might wanna see that one too. See if u can catch anything there just a suggestion.

  • just... no..

  • funny as hell they are chicken shit lol

  • their called the brown mountain lights no one knos what they are but these lights are deff not fake i live about 5 miles away from brown mountain

  • i live in Ayden ,nc which is about 25 to 30 mins away from Pactolus and have seen the light many times u absolutly can walk up to the light even drive towards the light but when u do the light goes into the woods and sometimes passes right over ur car it is definatly not a hoax and if u believe it is come to NC and see for urself

  • I don't know what that light is, but its not a firefly. Firefly's lights aren't continuous, it blinks, and for a lil while the light was steady, I don't know what it was but its not an insect.

  • ive always tried to find explanations to ghost stories and that looks like a firefly

  • Dude we went there a Kids and played on the trails wit 4 wheelers and flashed Lights dnt be fooled by everything ;)

  • i seen it its the maco light

  • glow stick

  • Stuart sounds high! LOL

  • @lilcoolgirl12345 that's what you base your information off of?

  • its the maco light.i read it in a magic treehouse book and it says there was a railroad conductor and he was checking the paths for the train to pass along.and so, he bent down with his lantern, and the train passed by and cut his head off.people say that he walks around with no head but has an lantern in his hand looking for his head but the tracks r torn up and noone has seen him since

  • i live in bath nc you sound like stoners get up with me lol

  • to me it just looks like the camera's light reflecting in a fox or some other animal's eyes (or one eye as if it wasn't looking directly at the camera). But that's just me.

  • @35Grendel It's definitely not a light reflecting on an animal's eyes. This odd light (which IS in the shape of a lantern -- at least to start) does take on the characteristic of a lantern that is being held by someone as they are walking. It seems unbelievable, and you'd be absolutely okay to doubt it, but I saw it last night and I can certainly tell you that it's legit. I'm a very rational and logical girl, and I saw it with my own two eyes, human silhouette and all. It is undeniable.

  • YOU ARE STUPID!!!!!

  • this is like the one where the guy gets beheaded by the train and the head was never found so his ghost walks around looking for it

  • @1beetbox ive heard of that one to

  • @1beetbox you can find the story at devilstrampinggrounddotcom

  • @1beetbox whats that one called?

  • @kirbyfan600 macco light i believe

  • @1beetbox the Maco Light

  • @1beetbox i think greenville is where that story started

  • I live in NC tht thing is amazing and you dnt walk to it its a mad ghost, going to go see it soon!!!

  • Looks like ectoplasm which is believed to be spirit energy. Apparently that is the most efficient way for spirits to move around. Too many people have seen this for it to be anything but true, although that doesn't mean that everytime someone sees a light it is paranormal. it is truly frustrating because no matter how good the evidence is someone will try to shoot it down and that is because so many people try to scam people that one has to be skeptical about everything.

  • @killsing its a plasma ball of light made by discharging electricity from two parts of the the mountain and the atmosphere

  • @woodmank58 Yeah, that is one of many, many theories. It could be many different things. Maybe we are just not supposed to know everything?

  • @killsing they copied it in alab and it came out in a blue ball of light

  • i have lived in greenville all of my life and visited this place many times... i have witnessed someone walk down then path and the light turn red as the person got closer... i also know someone who drove their truck down the path and the light flew over their truck and the truck died.

  • @aneese3 I have witnessed the same thing!!! ha i live in greenville and we go to pactolus lights all the time and my dads employee whos 28 went there with a couple buddies and they saw the light and thought it was somebody with a light playing a prank so they waited untill it came closer then it whooshed up in the air and they felt the wind hit them as it did that and it chased them back to theyre cars!!! so anyone that says its no real is stupid ive witnessed itttt!!!!

  • oh also thier german shephard dog was always scared of it and hid under the porch and wouldnt come out. that dog (Missy) wasnt scared of anything else. anyways i showed my mom this video and she said that is exactly like the light they saw, pretty freaky stuff.

  • my mom used to live in Concord NC her and her family would see this light and at first they thought it was a one eyed cat. so her dad and brothers tried to shoot it and they were exellent shots but they could never hit it. afterwards her grandmother told her the story of the light and that anyone who followed it never returned.

  • Light is not supernatural or extraordinary.

  • lol the friend in the background went from interested to pissed off of being there & scared lol

  • I've just waisted 6+ minutes on nonsense ! It don't take much to impress people these day's. BORING ! Same goes for UFO coolaid drinker crowd !

  • I love being born n raised in NC. I am like 30 min from the devil's tramping ground. I plan on going to see it soon. good job guys!

  • damn too bad it didn't get you! but then again you wouldn't have been able to post this video :)

  • dude the pactolus light is crap , iwent out there like 10 times and never saw nothing but a bunch of people getting stoned. last time i went there i ended up running through the field (on the left thats just before you get to the spot) with some glowing green goggles on and freaked out 3 car loads of people. they came back and put a spot light on us . they were freaked out, it was hilarious.

  • niiice !

  • thats why when we go down there, we look for assholes like you to make sure you dont fuck up our investigations. That light is real.

  • so how do you get there?

  • Ignis fatuous, foolish fire, willow the wisp. We had one in a low wooded area near Sumerville, SC that was fanous for generations, but now the area is buil up and I gues the methane doesn't develop. I went out 3 nights and saw it one night, very clearly and for a long time. It was really active that night, put on a great show. I tried to pull my car for a close in look but the carful of girls started screaming that is was 'right there!" We hauled butt. It is a common explainable phenomenom.

  • Guys, we never know. It might be real, but you never know.

  • cool!

    and such a sad story

  • Not to criticize the supernatural or anything, I am open to the possibility of there being something beyond our normal feild of vision and hearing, but a lot of people could look at this video and say, "Oh, that's just someone standing down there with a flashlight."

Not saying you faked this or anything, just saying that this video doesn't really hold any real credible evidence.

  • Have you ever been down there? pitch dark, bears, foxes, bobcats and all sorts of shit in the summer... not to mention the fire ants. water collected in potholes from hunters ATVs doesnt help either. if you do go, its best if you just stay inside your vehicle, or just outside it so that you can get in quickly if a wild animal comes out to hunt.. the LIGHT is the least of your worries.

  • @diva6000

I'm talking about the basis of this video you moron. The title of it implies supernatural, not mother nature, so don't think you have any grounds to lecture me on wildlife because you don't.

There was nothing in my comment about it in the first place and in the second place, I live in an area with wildlife as well. So take you pompousness down a notch.

  • Samurai

I scrolled up and down this comment page and i dont see where i said anything mean to you at all. and as far as i can see, i commented 2 or 3 times and none of them were in response to anything you said. i read your post, and i agree, people have said that it was someone with a flashlight, blah blah blah, but i cant find a basis for why you would call me a moron, and the comment to the asshole, definately wasnt to you, someone else had pissed me off. if you got it by accident, sorry.

  • secondly, i wasn't lecturing you on wildlife, i was simply saying that anybody would be a fool to go down there at night fucking around with all that shit running around in the summertime, trying to play a hoax, when they can get fucked up by some wild animal trying to protect her little ones. most of the time, people do go down there, but they stay in their cars. 9 times out of 10, its just too dangerous to do anything but sit in your car and film. thats why i asked had you ever been there.

  • Well, I did see your comment on the wildlife and potholes thing as a response to one of my comments, which is why I took such offense to it because it seemed you were claiming as me having a complete ignorance to wildlife.

  • Ghost lights are everywhere. It looks like they're only a mile away, actually they're many miles away. Let's think about the rainbow. We think the rainbow is just there but we can never get to it.

  • its some kinda animal

  • I am wondering were is it getting the energy from was your camra going haywire or you feel wieard.

  • hey guys, ghost lights are seen all over, just caught some on camera myself, i am a big fat sceptic, but i saw what i saw, google port perry, scugug island, it was debunked, but how when they were seen in 1800s, and i witnessed myself. i have no reason to lie or embellish truth, check that canadian site out!

    peace to you all

    angela

  • what is that beat playin

  • wat time of the night did yall go?

  • yo i live about 10 minutes from pactolus...this is real..the light disappears as u approach it..i actualy went and checked it out 2 nights ago..it is closed off but u can still get your way around it since its so wide open

  • i live right on the outside of pactolus but never have been down to see it.. i hear its all closed off now

  • @FirejockSkillz you can still get down there there are paths all around it. we ride four weelers down there all the time

  • if those are fireflys im not going outside anymore

  • yo man high or not this is wack..im a graffiti artist and tagged one night on sum tracks here in arkansas seen something like this so i researched it turned out about 3 hours from me gurdon arkansas has some freaky light on railroad tracks like this it is pretty creepy and the town and ne one who goes swears its true im heading there to search it soon but you should look at some of the videos even ghost hunters whent there

  • We have one of these lights in saratoga texas, it's also on an old railroad bed with tracks removed also on utube. The trees and road look so similar. There are like 5 of these I found across the states. Noramlly a headless engineer myth is in all of them. However most of the areas all involve a swamp or marshy area...so most likely...it's swamp gas or fox fire, from methane.

  • Why doesn't anyone ever just walk up to the light? Or turn on a birght light aimed at it? So frustrating.

  • Generally, the light will disappear when approached. I've often wondered why no one ever seems to do a serious study of the lights, figure out their location and then set up cameras closer to where they appear. This might "shed some light" on the lights!

  • I walked out there and tried to reach the light...you can never get to it. its the weirdest shit. def. real though. go pirates!

  • That's the stand responce from "Ghost Lights', the vanish when you get clseo to them. However, if you were able to pre-position cameras before they appeared and have them set for motion detection, timer or remotely controlled, you might get some decent images of them. Of course, the electro-magnetic field from a camera might prevent them from showing up in the first place.

  • @EpicurusThirteen i thought the same thing but my mom tried it, yes they used to see it, everytime they went toward it or shined a light at it it just backed up to where it was beyond the light

  • @EpicurusThirteen people have tryed

  • this is real.....my step dad said that when he was in collage that he saw it and it chased him.......this is real i have an eye witness

  • Best Proof of Fireflies !!!

  • hmmmm.. have u ever thought it might beh a fire fly XDD lolz jk

  • Im from NC, and everyone sounds like these idiots, there not acting..lol

  • its way too dark to see anything

  • thats so fake you guys suck

  • im definately going there and checking this shit out how far is that place from chocowinity?

  • not far at all. 20 miles from Washington tops!

  • fucked up man...i would not do that when im high bro hahaha but nice video...i believe this shit it happend to me so i know

  • No never been to vandor even though I dont live too far.. I have a friend that live's near there she said she has seen it...

  • OMG stoners think someone with a flashlight is a ghost... another important reason to DON'T DO DRUGS!

  • your either 12 years old or a backwoods graduate if u still think marijuana is drugs.

  • go down the path at your own risk but my brother and his friend were chased and almost killed by the owner

  • hey man will the owner let you go on the path and see it just wonderin

  • I dont see shit

  • I went to school at Chowan College near this. We use to go out there sometimes. I thought it was bull, but one night we walked really close and saw this light. Scared the crap out of me

  • Is that is Vandor?

  • No near Greenville. I've been to Vandor and didn't see anything. Have you ever been?

  • wow a spider or bug or pollen or something, i know its reflecting in the light behind you that i see lol, bull.

  • It s not fake look theres another video on it

Jeremy Foster Gets Attacked By Ghosts - R.I.P.

  • holy shit thats what we saw we walked all the down the traill and flicked our light 3 times then it looked like a bee thaat was blue flew twowards us and then some guy took out his video camera and it turned red

  • you guys were high. i could hear it in your voice

  • was this at the "light path" on the Carl Morris Rd? I used to hunt that RR bed and it would give you the willys coming out at night in the dark. acutally grew up living beside that track up just about 2 miles or so from this spot. we used to go down there in the dark with fashlights to scare friends that were looking the light, haha. good times....

  • they have to be in the pick picking farm!

  • this is exactly what i experienced but it was in an old 1900's tunnel. haha coincidentally enough, near greenville, PENNSYLVANIA

i kept on thinking it was a firefly, but we investigated the light and lightning bug behaviors and ruled out the possibility of a lightning bug.

  • Someone should turn that sighting in to 'Ghost Hunters' on SciFi Channel. They have all kinds of high tech equipment, I'd watch it for sure, it looks creepy, and if you turned it into Ghost Hunters and they caught something you might be lucky enough that they catch some EVP segments.

  • The music HAS TO GO.

  • Why do i watch this shit

  • Sorry, all i see is a vague light occasionally. Theres nothing else to see as a point of reference, so really this proves nothing. I want to believe but not convinced theres anything weird going on here.

  • camo4x4: u should probably submit this to 1 of those ghost hunting shows so u can get better equipment (night/heat vision camera's, maybe a legal permit to b on the guy's land, and some other stuff) so u can @least c if its supernatural or not. -sorry if some1 else already said that but i've only read halfway through the posts since it's so long and repetitive

  • and scared any1 else deeply intreged in the distance... LOL, that would make it twice as fun!

  • same here

  • this is in Pitt County. near Greenville. def not in the mtns... i should know b/c ive lived in Pitt all my life.

  • so is der like a story behinde this or is it fake? if u lived der u ever hear anythin bout this?

  • well it explains the story in the description. i'm positive that the story is true. as for the light, i'm skeptical. i've heard about it but personally i have never seen it. i'm not saying that it isn't there though.

  • Looks like a flashlight to me. Someone is just trying to imitate the Mako light.

  • y not bring some big a@s spotlite with you and when you c the lite turn the spotlite on to c if u can c what it really is.

  • I go to school near where this is, one lady i know was in the woods with her daughter (i also know her) They saw it and they said they ran like crazy!

  • I live in NC. It's real. I've seen it a few times

  • i live in NC too.. never seen itthough

  • r there emos in this state????????

  • Guys believe me this is not fake I live in North Carolina and I have seen it many times.

  • i live in NC where is it though?

  • Near Greenville

  • Have you heard the one about the Pumkin Man? supposely he is some sort of myth or perhaps real and there's this guy that was inpire by this Pumkin Man he go around butchering hikers and campers around Brown Mountain, some say that those lights up there were the ghost of the people he killed.

  • it mite be just a wild pig next time bring ur gun and then shoot at it and see what happens

  • i think it might b possible that its a ghost more likely some other type of spirit (angel/demon) but that would b a pretty fun thing 2 do, just 2 c what would happen, plus it would give every1 else watching a good scare.

  • That place mey not look very scary but i live near there and yeah get on them railroad tracks so scary shit happens

  • i know this legend. there's also a ghost in the grove park inn near where i live. it's called the pink lady. go video tape it for me okay?

  • I'm going there after my two-week time at a camp up near that area.

  • wow. i always beleived in them and now you have proof. it just sucks that nobody really cares cuz they think it's a hoax. i heard of this one before. nc is the most ghostly state in th us, especially at the brown mountains. now i can't sleep. thx 4 giving me nightmares again.

  • dang i live in nc 2 imma go swimming there 1 day

  • what a ghost..

  • What a ripoff *yawn*

  • Why were you both scared?

Go see what it is next time.

  • I dont think this thing is pissed off or even sapient, for that matter. I bet this phenomena occurred long before the early 1900s when this legend supposedly began. They are called Earth lights and usually coincide with earthquakes or other natural disasters.

  • what is the legend at hand?

  • Someone is smoking a cigar in the background!!! LOL Thats all

  • I've lived at the bottom of Brown Mt. all my life and have only seen them one time when i was like ten for only a few seconds! And the r roads all over the mountain but none that cross the road like that light does! I rode those road alot at night in a jeep and never seen anything like that before. But i think that they are playin a trick!!
