And he played that inserted melody rather staccato. Which was cool, but i especially love the way the pianist answered him while comp-ing with short chords as well. Very tasteful.
A band that swings in such a relaxed way, a sunny day, nice people in an English garden, good drinks and a birthday to celebrate: this could almost be a definition of paradise!
Cheers Ulli, it was indeed the perfect day. Shame that our keyboard player Mary is off for 6 weeks after a hand operation, so we are turning gigs down at the moment!! arggghh!
Two pints is pretty good mileage. Which do you find gives the sweeter sound, best bitter or draught? I find a hoppy pils is very good for that rock 'n' roll sound :-)
THATS AWESOME !!!!!!

Ha! @ 1:30 you quote "It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing"...! Must have been a great gig:)

Well spotted, you can play it over most G minor blues, great if you get stuck :-)

Smooth and easy, great stuff.

You need a cupholder attachment for your microphone boom to hold your container of 'rinse-aid'. Too much bending over isn't good for the back ;-)

Caught out once again. This set was a two-pinter, which is not bad going. There is nothing like beer to get a reed going IMHO

This was quite a hoppy but light bitter. My personal favourite is a nce belgian blonde (beer) Leffe or similar...

Very well-swung - yet another favorite tune to hear & play.
Loved the brushwork of Phil "Mr. Hands" Edgell on drums!
