Can anyone tell me if SLP Loudmouths on a 2006 Mustang GT would sound very raspy or loud when in idle? I love the sound when accelerating, but I don't want my car to sound like a truck every time I turn it on.

I know o/r x-pipes sound good but if I could go back in time I would bitch slap myself for settling for minimal gains in exchange for all the noxious gas that you have to breath when your at a dead stop for more than aminute at idle.I get freakin headaches when I getcaught in traffic etc .I just wish I would have gone with hi flo catted mid pipe

An H pipe without cats will give it a nice muscle car sound and not as raspy as the X pipe, if you get the H or X with Catylitic converters it will allow you to pass the smog inspection and will muffle the car and not be as loud as a H or X without cats. Btw X pipe adds more power and the H pipe adds a little more hp than the stock H.

long tubes are very loud where as stock manifolds give you a really raspy sound because of all the back pressure, which is why this one is extra raspy like it is, so yes headers do make the difference in sound

mustangs have a really weird reverse. and when you fully release the clutch the car is backing up too fast for most people to handle. backing up here and there riding the clutch isn't going to hurt it that much, it'll make it wear a little quicker but not much.

I have an 04 Mustang GT, I have Pypes o/r x-pipe with Flowmaster Super 40's, the sound is amazing, it's all you need. (SLP is a GM thing)

LM 1's.. if you cut out your stock muffler and just put the slp mufflers on it wouldnt sound liek this because of oyur mid pipe. stock has a twin catted h pipe.. this is an off-road x meaning no cats... basically x pipe = more horsepower + more rasp, h-pipe = more torque + more humm..

U want louddd, get o/r x or o/r h pipe...But a word of advice dont sell your stock mid pipe with cats, you may need it to put on once a year to pass inspection. At least thats how it is in NC. I sold mine like a dumbass now i just bout a bassani catted x to pass emissions. OR go to a muffler shop and they can put some straight pipe on for relativley cheap.
