I "discovered" Molly Hatchet only 2-3 years ago. I do remember them from the late 70s. At that time, they seemed like just another hair band to me. But, as my taste has changed, I really like these guys. It appears Danny Joe Brown was a very good front man for the band and he had such really good musicians behind him as well. Frankly, I don't see why they aren't considered more seriously as a rock band (or southern rock band). Lynyrd Skynyrd aren't as good as these guys,

I remember seeing Molly Hatchet and the Outlaws New Years Jam in the Lakeland Civic Center... Mmmm '75, '76, '77 sometime in that era. Long ride coming home on the Motorcycle back to Sanford. Nodding off on I-4... God Bless Florida and her finest bands, Skynyrd, Outlaws, and of course Hatchet!!

The song was just a joke anyway, and a response to Neal Young's song "Southern Man". It was all in fun, but the public got a damn good song out of it. A song that will never be forgotten, from a band that will never be forgotten.

Danny was just plain good looking and alot of people think his muscles came from an artifical source. I don't know what kind of drugs he did, but I have heard all he did was weed. Like so many other people out there do. Danny was the best. He died of diabetes complications and I am so tired of people saying he died from his hard lifestyle. It's not fair.

He had eye's like his Dad, but he looked alot taller then his Dad. Danny's Mom was supposed to be in that audience too, I wish they would of brought her on stage at the end of the concert. I would of liked to have seen her. He just said she was there and thanked everyone.

Reply...No Danny Was not Glen's Father. Danny was born on august 24, 1951. And Glen was born in 1955. Danny would not of been 4 years old as a father. Hope this helps.
