  • @drunkblackout27 now to me that is a HIP HOP story...

peace, unity, love & havin Fun to you!!!

  • hip hop started from the heart.

stray so far away from it gots me thinking if they were even a fan of it by - Blu & Exile

  • check out my hip hop from the bay area santa rosa california chillest raps youll hear bros!

  • Now this is real make out music. he he

  • RIP Dilla, you'll always be in our hearts and mind and we will never forget the good you have done for all of us. We miss you homie

  • This shit is REAL hip hop NO QUESTION! J. Dilla is the truth and then you throw in Common AND D'Angelo??? BEAUTIFUL! SMH "C-Harlie - Dream Killers" really did this song justice. R.I.P. JayDee

  • which song did dilla cut up for this track? i wanna hear the original

  • IT'S FUNNY TO REALIZE THAT THE VIEWS FOR REAL RAP, HIP HOP SHIT IS FROM PEOPLE FROM OTHER COUNTRIES BESIDES THE U.S. KIND OF AN IRONY THAT THE SAME PEOPLE THAT CREATED HIP HOP ARE GOING AGAINST IT, KIND OF LIKE A 911 ALL OVER AGAIN. I HEAR SHIT THEY DOIN IN NETHERLANDS, GERMANY, UK, COLOMBIA, MEXICO, BRASIL, FRANCE, ETC...AND THAT SHIT IS DOPE, WHAT HIP HOP IS ALL ABOUT AND THEN I HEAR THE SHIT THAT'S COMING OUT IN THE U.S. NOWADAYS AND I'M LIKE ?????? HIP HOP WILL NEVER DIE! IT'S JUST HIDDEN!

  • @fasteddy555

I think some you you fail to know the true definition of hip-hop.

Hiphop is a a way of life, a culture started by Kool Herc & Afrika Bambataa.

Rap is just one of the elements of HIphop along with the other 8 elements.

The teacher that taught me this is KRS-One from his book Ruminations, check it out

  • @PRtoRP well, i don't, i understand that hip hop is the movement and it's formed by 4 elements acording to krs one who defined and simplified the movement in the good way. rap is what an mc does, meaning RHYME AND POETRY, well it has many definitions, like that it comes from rhapsodies,etc.... i don't know where those other elements come from but originally it was mc, b boys, dj's , graffiti, but then again it's been a while since i learned that, maybe it has changed, i will chek the book tnks

  • @PRtoRP then again don't get me wrong, new york is where it all started, but mainstream hip hop is just really bad, im not sayin everyone is doin bad music but what kids are listenin to nowadays is dissapointin, i remember my first rap album was krs one self titled, i fell in love with the movement, so it's just, i guess, constructive criticism, but it ll come back to mainstream, get real shit more accesible.

  • WOW cant believe that people still dont know the difference between hip-hop and rap....

  • The problem is, most of the youth nowadays are lazy and have lost true love for music, so they just put on the radio and fill their ears with garbage. Same reason we get drunk, too lazy to find true happiness so we put poison in our system. Im 15 as of two days ago, ive been listening to Dilla for about a year and a half now. Never overplays, never disappoints.

If i had one wish, it would be to bring real music back. Real Hip-hop, Jazz, Soul, Funk, and Classical. Artists who love music not money

  • your right man im not a fan of most of todays hiphop i feel theres only a few artist that actually care about wht thre track sounds like and and care wht thy tlk about in a song dont get me wrong some songs are catchy man but nt many proper hiphop dudes left

  • @JackTBeatz i feel you. im 13 and i think the same.

  • @JackTBeatz das wassupp.. im 16 been listening to trip-hop. underground. old school all that shit.. for about 3 years now.

  • @JackTBeatz

Mate, i feel the same, we shouldnt need quick euphoria to help us find true happiness, and i feel the same way about the music, ;)

  • @JackTBeatz i agree man im 18 years old now... and our generation just doesnt listen to lyrics.. all they care about is a waaay to slow stoned sounding "hiphop beat"... the crap kanye mess, gay-z and lil wendy are doing.. they dont know what hip hop is.... the feeling... the energy.. the peace, love unity and havin fun... the High Infinite Power Healing Our People.. the Graffiti, the bboying.. the dj-ing.. and the MCing..

  • yo, i remember when these ole' days were good

human beings in harmony, doing what we should

    coming together, bringing eachother up

no hostility, lifting ALL our brothers up

but now days its a new day, people only have negativity to say

walkin down the street i can see the agression

people lying and stealin just to get some possesions

it makes me sad, also makes me kinda mad

when i think of the good things this earth coulda had

  • god i love this song.

  • a pure masterpiece of soul and hip hop..something few of the youth of today will understand only the lovers of real hip hop will recongnize this....this is pure hip hop J DILLA is immortal in hip hop and we will never forget the songs he made..JDILLA R.IP

  • classy music

  • with producers like J dilla, its no doubt that hip hop is a continuation of jazz, soul and rnb just some dilute it beyond recognition and create wack shit

  • my most favorite J Dilla song, and one of my most favorite songs in general. this is music from the soul.

  • this is different than the original song, innit?

  • this is the OG verison

  • We miss you much down here, Dilla.

  • isley borthers:)

  • From the song "Don't Say Goodnight" right?

  • @cualpha06 si senor!

  • Music that'll move you to near tears.

This is hip hop at it's finest. Man, I miss you Dilla.

  • Music from the soul...

  • clean man..... very, pretty and clean

  • Rest In Peace Jay Dilla AKA James Yancey 1974-2006 Will be missed Dangerously, Big Up Master Madlib Jaylib Forever!

Even after death he is still here!

    J-DILLA

    J-DILLA

    J-DILLA

  • like it, chilling

  • j dilla's music is just truly amazing!!!!!!!

  • this song gives me chills its amazing

  • Beautiful.

  • on i tunes they dont mention j dilla in the song for the album finding forever, can someone clarify?

  • he's only the producer, the itunes store doesn't provide that kind of information

  • 2 different songs one was done by dilla then common did other on the finding forever cd

  • no pete rock wouldn't come close either. Dilla has a style thats incredibly hard to imitate, pete and premier are much less raw, flylo maybe could, but it would be a stretch

  • LOL! You need to do you homework about Dilla and Pete Rock. Dilla Idolized Pete!!! And If you listen to Pete you will hear Dilla and vice versa!!

  • i dont think you know what real hip hop is mate... No offence.

Theres a difference between hip hop & rap you know.

    This shit is real.

  • this is such a sweet tune, i got the instrumental off the shining album instrumentals, its even better i reckon, i love dilla

  • @DyvrsTNO can you please give me some real hip hop tunes...dont know my shit about real amercian hip hop

  • @DyvrsTNO Rap derives specifically from the Hip Hop lifestyle, along with B Boying, DJing and Graffiti

Even if rappers don't stay true to their roots and aren't real, it's still a part of Hip Hop, just fuckin garbage, shameful hip hop

  • @DyvrsTNO you said it man

  • @DyvrsTNO If that's directed at Questlove then you're way out of line, heard of The Roots? If it's not then I apologize!

  • hahahaha, its dilla dogg n common u ignorant fucker, srry ppl i dotn lik leaving negative comments on dilla joints but i couldnt help myself on this one!!!!lol bro!!!

  • wonderful song ! this is real hip-hop to me!

  • This is my first time hearing this... and it already inspired me to make a beat just like this....This is real hip hop... Not all this non inspiring Snap Crackle Pop shit...

  • Common is a perfect fit 4 dilla's calm melodies

  • love it! i could listen to this song forever...

  • i dont think premo could make a dilla style beat. only one who comes close would be pete rock.

  • such a good beat

  • dam, such a cruz song. Beautiful

    what a talented artist.

    RIP J DILLA

  • love

  • dont say goodnight

  • Such a good beat

  • such a good song

  • Jaydee- every producers favorite producer.

  • i think that title goes to premo

  • Wrong.

  • Most definetly do

  • Wrong.

  • theres no comparison bro....Premo's catalog is too big son.....sorry.....Dilla was nice though....too bad he wasnt around long enough

  • Premo's made the same beats, stylistically, since he started. Dilla's done more in his short life than Premo has in nearly double time.

  • That's cause Premo is a mainstream producer!! The industry wasn't ready 4 Dilla. That's why Dilla didn't get as big as he should in the mainstream. But Dilla has the most respect from the Mainstream and underground producer's as 1 of the greatest. Do your research!! Premo knows who dilla is and has a ton of respect 4 Dilla as 1 of the best ever.

  • wow HipHop has gone so far in the wrong direction.I think its due time we rally up the soldiers and show them what HipHop is really about.Wata ya say?

  • real hip hop is still being made.. but many artists make straight trash rap now and thats what gets played on the radios. and real hip hop gets swept under the carpet. then the 1's who make real hip hop r forced to join in the garbage just to get a check, cuz true hip hop doesnt pay anymore. we need to get more supporters, thats all.
