Sly was indeed one bad mf of a musical genius, no doubt about it, giving us a lot of the baddest funk/rock grooves ever made (no offense, Godfather). Cavett did a great job of keeping the interview moving.
Sly said he was loaded on coke for this interview, they couldn't get him out of the house cos he was in such a bad way. BUT THEY DID IT AND HE IS DOING FUCKING GREAT.

Drug abuse took the lives of so many artists from the Woodstock era. After research. This is what happened. Sly and Band sorta managed themselves so they missed alot of dates. (shoulda had a manager). People got pissed because they didn't show up. He missed Cavetts show 1 or 2 times so he was upset. But as you can see it doesn't matter cuz the man is there and all is well!
Sometimes people get on Cavett's case for being a square. But really, I can't think of another talk show host from the seventies who had such a diversity of interesting people on his show. Not to mention a host that would let drugged up folks on his show and let them run with it. Cavett is awesome.

After research. This is what happened. Sly and Band sorta managed themselves so they missed alot of dates. (shoulda had a manager). People got pissed because they didn't show up.
